Episode IX: The Rise Of Skywalker - Discussion * <strong><em>SPOILER THREAD</em></strong> *
Time

Hasn’t fan art been mistaken for concept art in the past? I could see JJ and company leaking something for laughs that’s blatantly ridiculous, but people would fall for it anyway.
I can only recall one instance of someone working on the OT putting a fake spoiler out there.

I see the f**ker has made another account using my bloody real name this time. Suck a sad little person who can only get attention by impersonating someone else.

EDIT: The user TheRealAdywan, that just posted there, is actually me this time. I created an account solely to confront this guy, but it’s highly doubtful that i will be contributing much.

Is there no one in authority at reddit you can make aware of the situation? Get verified like people do on twitter to thwart impostors?

The Criterion Collection Thread

The deleted 2001 footage is in the salt mine vault. No plans on letting anybody see it. If they don’t do it for the 50th, they may never do it in our lifetime.
The Shining is more murky. Kubrick’s personal assistant claims to have burned all the outtakes and such per Kubrick’s wishes. It’s possible the footage cut from one of the L.A. or New York area opening weekend prints survives, but who really knows? Only the editor dispatched to cut NY area prints has ever been interviewed. Nobody seems to know who cut the L.A. prints.

Shining superfan Lee Unkrich did discover 35mm frames of the ending and other footage in the Kubrick Archives. I presume these will appear in the book he’s writing about the movie.

Script materials are probably also in the Kubrick Archives in London.

The 2 Ewok Films - '<strong>Caravan Of Courage</strong>' (aka 'The Ewok Adventure'), &amp; '<strong>Battle For Endor</strong>'

The one near us allows members to check out up to two movies at a time, and they have a huge selection from across space and time. It’s like having DVD rental from Netflix again, but free. It’s wonderful.

Just some random observations from the movies:
-Logray is clearly strong with the Force, raising some interesting implications with the Ewok’s effectiveness against the Empire.
-The beasts crashing through the forest is a trial run for a certain scene in TPM.
-Wilford Brimley says ‘power oscillator’ at some point, which I like to think inspired ‘thermal oscillator’ in TFA.
-George is already obsessed with the final scene of ET based on how he handles the spaceship launch.
-Every character in these movies is more compelling than any character in the prequels.

Ouch!

I did get a little misty eyed when Chukha-Trok bought the farm. 😉
