Film scenes that make you go "Hmmmmm..."

this scene from Conan The Destroyer …https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9LQTS73rOP8 and pretty much any scene in that film with the character of Malak the thief , especially the Camel scene where he asks Conan if he remembers the camel . WTF , he wasn’t even there , that was Subotai the archer that was with him .

If I remember my old Starlog articles correctly, Subotai was in early script drafts. It’s possible they simply never rewrote that dialog?

synch it to a Bad Company album and it would be rock and roll fantasy ! I got my blu ray copy btw , not crazy about the choice of artwork . got mine at best buy .I like the steelbook art though , just do not want to pony up for the case . 4k does not matter to me , I am fine with 1080p and even dvd on a proper display .

Lay in some tracks from the Heavy Metal movie, now there’s a fanedit idea!

And seriously? Presidential Alert? The ego of this guy…

https://www.businessinsider.com/r-trump-administration-to-send-us-cellphones-a-test-alert-on-thursday-2018-9

Former President Barack Obama signed a law in 2016 requiring FEMA to create a system that lets US presidents send cellphone alerts regarding public safety issues like natural disasters and “terrorism.”

https://www.nytimes.com/2018/10/03/us/presidential-alert-trump.html

The test, originally planned for last month but delayed by Hurricane Florence, was the culmination of many years of work. The federal government developed a system to issue the alerts, which are scripted in coordination with numerous government agencies. They are limited to 90 characters, but will be expanded to 360 in the future.

Trump didn’t personally send a message to your phone.

Not yet. 😉

And I get that it was named before Trumpy took office. Remains to be seen if people will more willingly flee a hurricane because they get a text versus all the warnings given on tv.

I wasn’t expecting the old EBS tone. Not the childhood flashback I wanted. The newer EBS tests sound like an old data modem.

Let’s hope we don’t get any false alarms.

We should start a betting pool as to when it’s hacked and whether the message will be about The Purge. 😉

And seriously? Presidential Alert? The ego of this guy…

If you say so.

Nevermind.

If you like the OOT, you should get the OOT in HD. Disney is not going to release it, so your only choice is from fan preservations or edits—which you can only get if you have the best source they use. It’s your choice to not do that, but your only other option is VHS, laserdisc, or the 2006 SE DVD bonus discs (the GOUT), which are sourced from the laserdisc transfer (hence the mention earlier).

And that’s it. You can bitch about not having the Star Wars you want; or you can get the Star Wars you want by using the means available to you, learn to be content with it, and thus stop bitching. We’re lucky the HD preservations of the OOT exist at all. Being on a high horse about not paying for SEs doesn’t help you obtain versions that are not the SEs. Versions that are available now, today.

…you could also just not like Star Wars, not watch Star Wars, and not care. Then you don’t have to bother with what people do or don’t say about why people do or don’t like it.

It used to be no one here thought my attitude about not given any money to an se release was “being on a high horse”

You ever consider doing what I did? Buy them used on Ebay.

I thought his SNL performance the other night was a deliberate skit. It wasn’t.

The video projection walls around them are pretty cool though. Is that something SNL has had for a while, or was it just for his performance?
I was wondering why they cut away during the closing credits.

Facebook mostly sucks. You think it’s bad when we have forum hiccups, try entire threads vanishing into the ether and no way to get them back. The mod of one group I hang out in has to manually archive threads deemed important after one with a lot of great info went boom. I frequently have replies that have gone up in a puff a smoke when I return to a thread as well.

And twitter could never foster the kind of communities we have here and at FE. Twitter is such a dumpster fire at times, I hope I eventually see it’s demise. But whatever supersedes it might actually be worse.
