Disney often acted like they didn't quite know what to do with the Muppets in the past, so I would hope they have a clue what to do with the SW franchise.

Speaking of slasher films, it's interesting Don Post never made masks of any human characters in the trilogy back in the day. The Captain Kirk mask they made of course became the infamous Michael Meyers mask in Halloween.
He could simply being playing old King Conan, (as glimpsed in the other films) telling a story in flashback?
We just had a Conan movie last year, not from Universal, so the rights must have lapsed, or Universal still has sequel dibs.
Mako's character will be sorely missed either way.

This sounds like some publicity leg pulling to me, designed to get tongues wagging. The timing is certainly suspicious with a new movie coming out.
A lot of people have been considered to play Bond over the decades, even an American bloke or two. Even if Mr. Elba does a screen test, nothing may ever come of it. Just ask James Brolin and Sam Neill. ;)
IIRC, Entertainment Weekly was floating that idea back in the 90's, suggesting Denzel Washington play 007.
The idea of Bond being the "Dread Pirate Roberts" of spies was part of the plot of the 1967 Casino Royale movie.

Stumbled across a French comedy from 1975 in which Bernard Lee and Lois Maxwell appear in familiar roles. How EON didn't have a fit over this I can't imagine! Even Operation Kid Brother didn't lift the Bond themes.
They appear in the first ten minutes, so you don't have to watch the whole thing if you don't want to. ;)
This footage might be useful for some other 007 fanedit in the future?

Interesting article, but a little vague as to the quality of the DVD being sold. Or whether it's actually legal.
And there are a lot more than two SOTS cels floating around outside the vault, believe me.
Any idea what you'll use for the the title song? Is it possible to mix and rearrange the textless title sequences from the UE DVD's together to make a new sequence?
Damn shame they dropped those from the Blu Rays.

Guinness mentioned those kooky letters in the ESB book. Specifically, one couple wanted Obi Wan to move in and help with their relationship problems. He stated many of these sort of letters came from California. ;)
On the flip side of the same coin, Dave Prowse used to get steamy letters from female fans who wanted a personal dark side seduction from Vader, if you know what I mean...

I picked up Live and Let Die from the first batch of Blu Rays when Borders was going out of business a year or two back. I only got around to watching it this weekend. The Inside documentary has been completely reconstructed in HD and 16:9. (The SD video interviews have been pillarboxed with graphics resembling the menus.) I presume the others have been redone for Blu Ray as well, but I don't have any of the others.
The film looked okay to me visually. At least the overcooked title sequence has been fixed, and there's a mono track.
I noticed that too, but thought maybe it was a side effect of shooting off a monitor. Any info on where it's from yet?
Yeah, Sir Guinness must have been having a really bad day when he did that. Maybe if the kid had said Lawrence of Arabia? ;)
