It goes without saying that if Stan had not been persuaded that a little movie called Star Wars would make for a great comic book, Marvel as we know it might not exist today.

That’s a good thing?

Marvel was struggling a bit in the late ‘70’s. The industry was in a slump overall. Star Wars’ amazing success led to a ton of books being sold and not just SW. It’s no coincidence other Marvel books had swashbuckling space characters and spacefaring storylines around that time.

You might be able to use a quick shot of the Scout Walker pilots …

Good suggestion!
I guess with some very good sound editing the pilots could hear the catapult firing and the grenade falling.
That way no need for matting or extra shots.

Perhaps if I use the classical bomb falling whistle and have the pilots react to that?

There’s probably a Star Wars equivalent of that sound somewhere.

ANDOR - Disney+ Series - A General Discussion Thread

This could work with a Mission: Impossible type scenario, (the tv series, not the Tom Cruise movies) where Cassian gets a new objective every episode, and has to assemble a team best suited to the job.
We all know Cassian and K2 aren’t going to buy the farm, but new characters around them can rotate in and out, and we’ll never know who in the team will survive.

I do not understand how team Carpenter in any way thought Tom Atkins was a good fit for hot romantic lead opposite a twentysomething (in both that and The Fog).

Because Carpenter goes against the grain and doesn’t cast actors the way studio heads think he should? Who else would have cast Kurt Russell as Snake Plissken? (Or Elvis for that matter.) He was still thought of as that wacky teenager from Disney comedies at the time.
I think the casting of The Fog remake speaks for itself. 😉

The Worst Scene/Sequence in Any Star Wars Film
Time

It’s been a while since I’ve seen the movie. Did the Empire know the plans had been transmitted to Raddus’ ship before they boarded her? Or did they look through the logs, and figure it out after the Blockade Runner’s escape?

In hindsight, it might have been a good idea to not kill Take it! guy and find out what he was handing off. I presume the troops may have captured some other rebels alive for interrogation though.

The Last Jedi- Full Movie Re-Edit

There was a banned member fanning anti-OT sentiments in one of his livestream chats a few months ago. They left out why they got banned from here of course.

Mr. Ortega is playing with fire. You don’t have to look any further than what happened to Star Trek fanfilms in the wake of the lawsuit against the Axanar production to see the potential for ruining it for everybody.

Both films were entirely shot in Northern California, so I don’t see how Jabba’s palace could have been reused, as that set was at Elstree in England. (And probably torn down when ROTJ wrapped production in 1982.) There’s also nothing remotely like Jabba’s palace in Caravan of Courage.
