Battle for Endor is so freaking dark for a kid's movie. (It's the Alien III of the SW universe.) Disney would never go there. ;)

Lester should be sent to the Phantom Zone for putting Sheriff Pepper in the movie though. ;)
Try a blind test, and see if you can hear the difference between the PCM and the DTS?
Only 786kps? That's a damn sight better than the 192kps DD a lot of mono tracks are consigned to these days. I only wish the original mixes of the 007 films were available at that bitrate on BD!
Was the song replaced on this version?
I must admit wondering what Yoda was like in his younger days. Even he must have been young and reckless once! ;)
Video sales and rentals figures were printed in a lot of magazines back in the day. IIRC, the original films did pretty darn well in both charts.
E.T. was in high demand the first time it hit home video after the 1985(?) theatrical reissue.
If the OT didn't sell well, why were they constantly in print, and reissued several times?
A lot of classic stuff isn't even out on DVD sadly. Where the heck are Lensman and Robot Carnival?
The most recent anime film I enjoyed was Paprika. It's probably as mind bending as Inception in it's own way. (And I'm betting Hollywood will make a live action version and screw it up.) I only discovered it because someone used footage from it to make a music video.
The clip I linked to also referenced just about everything in Science Fiction and Fantasy up to that year. There's probably even more in the crowd shots I can't make out at Youtube resolution.
I think it would be wise to research what form of ad this should take. "Print is dead" in the view of some people.
Is there perhaps a billboard near the Disney studios the suits would see every day? Those are the people that need to reached with such an endeavor.
This godaddy/Office Max ad is far more offensive if you know what GD's CEO got into hot water for a couple years back. ;)

Lucas has repeatedly blinked at the idea of a Sith Lady in the film series.
One is reminded of how Marvel wanted to have the Empire build a second Death Star in the comics only to have the idea halted.
Similarly Zahn wanted the Sith to be the assassin race that would later be named Noghri.
In the original rough plans for a sequel trilogy Luke's sister (not Leia) was going to be the new focus leading to a show down with the Emperor at the end who would have by then replaced Vader as the chief villain.
Replace her with a new female Jedi and replace Palpatine with a fallen Leia and you have the bare bones of a workable story template that has some links to the OT but enough variation to be it's own thing.
Marvel did do that storyline. Perhaps a few details were changed, but it's essentially the same scenario.

Quick google search (thanks pat man!) shows they killed him in Fate of the Jedi. Is that the EU to which you're referring?
The following has been done, too, but in the film maybe they can have Dark Luke. I love how Mark describes his ideas for ROTJ here:

Interestingly enough JJ is at the table as well. It's a nice video.
I meant killing Luke off mirrors Obi Wan a bit too much. When Lucas originally did it, it was a last minute script change, (which Sir Alec reportedly wasn't too thrilled about) and then he had to create a new Jedi master to train Luke in the sequel.
It's been done. ;)
I guess it all hinges on whether there are any Sith surviving in the galaxy or not. I always thought Vader's look was derived from ancient Sith battle armor.
Portable iron lung suits probably don't come in default "evil and scary" designs.
Damn, you beat me to it! ;)
Were slasher movies a recognized genre before Halloween?
Does Mr. Abrams have a preference for shooting on film?
Thanks!
If you wanted to go The Godfather route, and have Palpy enjoying a night at the opera while crosscutting to the clones as they kill all the Jedi. ;)

Note that it's green screen footage...
Is there really anything new in the slasher genre anymore? The last thing I remember seeing ads for was yet another Texas Chainsaw retread.
It's interesting those Paranormal Activity flicks rake in so much dough without any gore. Although I think the studio has probably bled the premise dry, and when the parodies start, it's usually the nail in the coffin.
I was sort of glad this numbering of the Indy films was dropped after the last major VHS release in the 90's. And that they never actually retitled Raiders, except on the covers.
Would it be okay to invite a close friend or two to watch the stream? Can't recall now if it was a private room when you streamed TRM or not.
If you'd rather keep it "in the family" that's fine too.
I grew up back when it was simply Japanese cartoons on the old UHF dial. They have influenced Western pop culture more than people realize. If you've seen The Lion King, you know Disney only steals from the best. ;)
It's been speculated over the years Lucas was influenced by Space Battleship Yamato, which was airing around the time George visited Japan. The English dub, (retitled Star Blazers) hit American airwaves in 1978, no doubt as a result of Star Wars' success.
Star Wars characters often turn up in anime as an inside joke. I definitely saw Vader in the dance club scenes of the Lensman movie.
There's also this bit of amazing animation from 1983...
The fuzzy animal stuff paid the bills. (As did the Beetlejuice cartoon.) You can't fault them for that. MGM suits dumping Rock and Rule was beyond their control.
And Tryphanax, anime covers so many decades, genres, and styles, I can't believe there isn't at least one Japanese cartoon you've liked?

Yoda communing with Qui Gon could be "restored" with nonsensical Liam Nesson dialog?
There are some lines from Batman Begins that could work too. ;)
Well said, zombie84. :)
