Who Framed Roger Rabbit? - uncensored HDTV airing(s) (Released)

Does anyone know if the Blu-Ray is supposed to have the deleted "pig head" scene included in HD?  One of the DVDs had it in SD format but it wasn't a very clean transfer from what I saw.

According to the Home Theater Forum review, it's in SD, as are all the extras except for the shorts.

The scene was actually reinstated for the tv broadcast premiere in the late 80's, so maybe it's sourced from an old video master?

Several of the older editions use original poster art elements. I'd go after some of the RCA CED's just for the cover art if I had the space.

There was a youtube video showing the differences in the AVTAK title sequence, (the full frame coming from a VHS) but it seems to be gone now.

I could kick myself for letting an old CBS/Fox Beta of FYEO go without checking it. I ended up with a lot of tapes chasing down that HBO Star Wars recording a while back.

Jumped on a factory sealed MWTGG only to realize too late it's full frame. Doh! At least it has digital sound. Not obsessed!

Did you ever collect any of the pan and scan versions? I'm curious to see the recomposed "HBO version" title sequences Maurice Binder did for the later Moore era. (And presumably the Dalton films, but the title sequences might have been letterboxed when I saw them on VHS.)

I ended up with a pan and scan copy of Die Another Day in a batch of other DVD's I won last year, and the title sequence was recomposed for 1:33.  I don't think any of the other Brosnan films had full frame editions though.

The new binocular shot was first rendered with CG walkers, then transferred to video tape and then shot using a video camera filming the video being played on a small CRT TV with the tracking/ signal being messed with. The original was also recorded using a camera filming off a crt monitor.

There is something about the original that always made the walkers look like small toys, probably because this shot didn't use stop motion walkers, but mechanical ones instead. You can tell by the fluidity of the motion, which is also why the center one rocks so much, which is something the stop motion versions don't do.

The camera motion was matched to the original, which has no camera wobble and is pretty fluid. And there is a lot of motion blur used on the new version. The Walkers formation was positioned to match the next time we see the walkers coming over the ridge; center one in front, next two in alignment slightly further back and the rear two are also in alignment with each other.

The opening shot of the walkers seen in the far distance, all of the walkers are moving, whereas the original was just some static shapes. It's Vimeo's compression that has screwed around thanks to the compression artifacts. But you can see on the vimeo video ( just the revisited scene and not the comparison one) if you look closely you can see the AT-ST's moving

That's awesome how you kept the binocular shot old school. :)

More ideas in my head.

I've heard alot of talk about Maul being Grevious, why not someone else?

* This clip it not really intended to be very funny, it was made more in mind as to get ideas flowing. Considering this characters relation change to Anakin in Frink's Ep 1

I kind of like this idea! And there's plenty of Liam Neeson movies to lift choice dialog from.

I also think Grevious' ship could have a really bad muffler. ;)

Funny how those THX LD's are worth more now. Stores near me couldn't give them away in waning days of carrying the format. Do you think the non-THX PCM tracks are good enough for a preservation?

Doesn't the recalled LALD have audio problems?

Still trying to track down a few more SE DVD's if I can get them cheap for the older 5.1 mixes. I think those ought to be preserved especially if they're derived from 70mm.

And I still need LALD, TMWTGG, VTAK, TLD, and LTK on Laserdisc. We both ought to have our heads examined!

I don't mind being teased with a pic or two. The first Empire pic I recall seeing was Mark Hamill on some weird beast on a snowy landscape.

I just realized that in my position, it will much harder to avoid spoilers around here than in the past.

As I've said before, the moment a photo of Mark or someone else in costume gets out, the site that posts it will melt from the load. ;)
