And damn them for putting this on the Disney channel I don't get on my crappy ass cable system.

Whoa, whoa, whoa! I am actually feeling kind of excited about something with the name "Star Wars" on it again, that was unexpected...
I do hope they ditch the Thunderbirds look of the Clone Wars.
The Thunderbirds look was favored by Lucas, and probably plays into how long it takes to produce a season on time and on budget. Disney is likely going to want to use the existing CW pipeline for this, (unless they really like burning money) so I wouldn't be expecting Pixar level animation for a weekly tv series.

Nobody has thoughts on Jonathan Rhys Meyers? News is heating up:

And Latino Review is almost always spot on with their scoops.
I haven't seen him in anything, so he's a complete unknown to me.
Perhaps the opera house scene is the place for Palpy and Ani to be taking in a movie?
I think Episode III Chewie, and the promotional costumes used since then have fur/hair made of synthetic materials, while OT Chewie was made out of wool and Yak hair.
Let's keep the sleazy tabloid crap where it belongs.
Mark once commented on how he couldn't even peruse certain magazines at the newsstand, because in the mind of the media and public, it's Luke reading the articles in Playboy. ;)

1138 "Making of" Images
Nice find. Thought you were talking about THX 1138 though. ;)
The first one is good in my book. It's not like the rest of Trek is going to be ruined by watching the new stuff.

I disagree about the dramatic tension being lost on Kirk's death. Even though I forgot about the tribble by the time Kirk was dying, I knew he wouldn't stay dead for long. But that didn't matter. To Kirk, and to Spock, he was dying. And he died. They were feeling some pretty strong emotions, and, because I love these characters so much, and, because the scene was so well executed, I felt those emotions with them.
I had those emotions too. In 1982! ;)

Isn't that supposed to Harry's daughter or something? They can ignore the comics on a whim anyway.
There is a line mentioning her father, so that is probably the case. However, this comic mini-series was actually co-written by Roberto Orci. That being the case, I'd say it's a safe bet if they ever do have Mudd in one of the films it'll be this one.
Is Bajor even known to the Federation in the 23rd century?
I think Khan was using whatever he had left to try and crash into Starfleet HQ. (Man they need to put some shields around that thing .) It's more bothersome that two starships are battling it out just past the moon, and there aren't any other ships in the system that can help the Enterprise?
Might have been better for Khan to splash down in the middle of the bay and have the obligatory fight with Spock as the wreckage of the Vengeance is sinking.
Why does Admiral Banzai Paxton Marcus need a genetic superman from two centuries ago to design scarier ships and weapons anyway? Wouldn't kidnapping old Spock and forcing him to divulge 24th century tech make more sense? Starfleet bigwigs must know where Scotty got his transwarp beaming equations from.
Interesting that they did deal with the issue of asking old Spock for info on old adversaries.
Isn't that supposed to Harry's daughter or something? They can ignore the comics on a whim anyway.
The dramatic tension of Kirk's sacrifice is slightly deflated, because the audience has already been told Khan's got magical healing blood. (Which is apparently unknown to 23rd century medicine, and none of Khan's frozen comrades seem to have.) You can see the resolution coming a light year away.
The Vengeance crashing into skyscrapers unfortunately took me out of the movie. We don't need disaster porn in Trek.
I'm not that cynical in my old age. I really really wanted to love this film. It's not as good as the last one to me. I came away from that film uplifted, and I was having the worst year of my life in 2009. The sequel made a little depressed.
Now that they got the darkness out of their system, hopefully they'll do something a little lighter and more fun. I'd love to see their take on Harry Mudd.
Tried watching it. Doesn't do anything for me. ;)
I saw the trailer too. That and an ad for Disneyworld with SW characters front and center. I swear there were twenty minutes of trailers in front of the movie!
I don't think they watched TAS. Or TVH...
Even the triple breasted cat dancer in TFF looks more feline.

I hope to God that isn't the case. I personally could give a shit about young Jedi, Leia and Han's children or whatever else. Just bring back the core three and make it their story again.
Yeah! That'd be awesome!
I'm sure we'd all love to see him
her
and this guy
running around saving the galaxy from evil.
1999 might have been an okay time to start a project like that, Mark and Harrison weren't looking their worst at that time (sorry Carrie, can't say the same for you), but 14 years in the future, time has caught up to them. I know they can work all kinds of magic on them, but I still don't think that is a movie anyone really wants to see. The ship has sailed for our old heroes. Still, it'll be cool to see them play a role in the new film.
It's only fair to use images of Harrison, Mark and Carrie in professional makeup from their most recent or upcoming appearances, don't you think? ;)

Never spotted the ESB arcade game in the wild, and the ROTJ one was kind of a letdown not being vector graphics.
There are or at least were, efforts afoot to rectify this.
Nothing posted for two years so maybe he has given up.
Impressive! I hope it gets finished someday.
Wasn't DF using Doom's base code, as were many other 3D shooters at the time? It probably didn't escape Lucasfilm's notice that there were a lot of mods that essentially made Doom into a Star Wars game to begin with. I recall having the lightsaber mod.
For Anakin trying to decide whether to save Palpatine from Mace or not...with lots of long silent glares from all. ;)

Yes, but Kirk Sr. might have left some sort of recording made before his untimely death. (Maybe something Kirk's mom only recently gave to him?) It's been done in Trek before...
It was good that the events of the last movie cast a shadow on the plot. With Kirk and company finally off on the five year mission, I wonder if the aftermath of yet another rogue Starfleet admiral actions will cast it's own shadow.
There are so many variations on Klingons from TMP through DS9, the one we see in the movie doesn't mean they all look like that.
I'm still digesting the film, but at least I remained mostly spoiler free to the end. I wanted something more than TWOK turned inside out, but newer fans ought to like it.
Not happy about Pike dying. The poor guy was slightly better off in the original timeline!
Lots of subtle references to past series and films (other than TWOK) if you know where to look. Seems they have already been to Station K7. ;)
How the heck did they keep a lid on Nimoy's cameo? Bet they shot it in someone's house. Damn good to see him in any case.
Jim Kirk is still a Beastie Boys fan. His feline ladyfriends should have looked more like Lt. M'ress though.
Kirk's parents were in the cast credits, was something cut at the eleventh hour?
And security officer "Cupcake" was back, although not referred to by name.
