General Star Wars Random Thoughts Thread
Time

Given the trouble I have with automatic doors sometimes, either my Midi count is very low, or I have no soul...

It's laughable that Anakin isn't supposed to be doing parlor tricks with his abilities, when we see Obi Wan using the force to open and close doors that probably have sensors or buttons on them.

Funny thing is, Vader levitates a cup of coffee or something into his hand in the SW novel. As he's seen doing this in the Marvel comic, could it have been in the script at some point?

Spaceballs later addressed the dangers of drinking hot beverages in a mask of course. ;)

MOTP is probably the best Batman film. And what a score! (I liked that a Batman centered episode of Justice League referred back to it without explaining it. That's trusting in your audience.) I need to spin my LD sometime when the house is back in order!

Since I don't think we have a general "coming soon" thread, this looks like it might actually be good...

The Exhaustive List of Christopher Lloyd Movies Where He Didn't Play a Weirdo
Time

If I had a nickel for every time people pushed buttons they didn't know what they did back in college. An entire class full of Dee Dee's. ;)

I wanted to mount a "self destruct" switch to one of the consoles in the tv studio to see who would dare to push it, but couldn't find such a thing at the time.

Seriously though, if the slaver weapon had come with an instruction manual, the episode would have been really short.

The Great Robot Chicken Debate--A Place Where Folks Can Argue Whether It's a Hilarious or Unfunny Show

TWOK left the door open to Spock's return with that lovely shot of his torpedo/coffin (which they actually make now) on the Genesis planet. (IIRC, they added that shot very late in production.) Not to mention "Remember".

Kirk pays a pretty high price getting Spock back. His son, his ship, and without knowing the plot of TVH, his career. No cheap gag about it.

Frink, you might enjoy the all Star Wars themed specials. Amazing how they zing George and get away with it sometimes. (Unless he's wise to it, and doesn't care or mind?) The Jaws Special edition sketch was clearly mocking the flanneled one.

I'm surprised they haven't done more Trek bits based on the Abrams film. Only ever seen one DS9 sketch, and haven't seen them do Voyager or Enterprise.
