I've seen similar rainbowing in old analog video masters of films broadcast digitally.

Well, force choking must push somebody's buttons out there. ;)
On the flip side of the coin, I could believe there was a fragment or two of something in Artoo's memory. He's probably recorded and erased a lot of messages in his travels.
IIRC, the conversation in question took place in Padme's apartment.

The only thing I hate about the EU are the forced ties between the OT and PT. Granted, some things deserve exploration (Leia's relationship with Bail Organa), but some later books have contradictory stuff just to give the OT a closer tie to the prequels. For instance, there exists one EU novel out there where it's stated that R2 recorded that conversation Anakin and Padme had about his nightmares, and then he plays it for Luke.
R2's kind of nosey, if that's true. I mean, unnecessarily recording a private conversation? That's kinda weird.
Was Artoo even present when that scene took place?
More wow.
Always keep your copy of ACC under lock and key! ;)
It would be better to ask if there's anyone JT34 hasn't put on ignore! ;)
I didn't think ignoring mods was even an option, but it was probably well before I got the gig...

Yeah, you picked an excellent time to slack off around here. ;)
Welcome back!
Alas, mods are not omniscient. If anyone has proof Mr. Olie the 2nd is a sock, kindly provide it to the mods. Anybody maintaining a sock account at this point is taking a calculated risk. Is it really worth it?
AFAIK, nobody was given special permission for anything, certainly not from me. Joke socks were likely tolerated so long as they were obvious, and didn't stink up serious threads. It takes just one or two people to piss in the pool and ruin it for everyone.
How about this?

Off topic is no man's land. That means no moderation. The ignore button is your friend.
And thread is locked, since I can't see any more relevant replies coming down the pike now.
MCC is probably the only version that has it's own action figures. ;)

Coraline (2009).
It's inevitably not an accurate depiction of the darkness of the source material but it's still pretty dark stuff for an animated film primarily aimed at children.
The voice acting is good and the animation style is bold.
If you want explain Gnosticism to your kids it's probably the easiest way.
4 Balls.
Definitely the darkest plot twist I've ever seen in a kid's movie. And the main reason I scream hysterically when a commercial comes on for those creepy button eyed dolls. ;)
Why the heck haven't I bought this on Blu Ray yet?

This is the one that makes the least sense, as the existence of Christmas in the Flintstone's prehistoric world raises all sorts of issues. (They did a Christmas episode on the original series too.) Some have theorized the show is actually set after the apocalypse has thrown mankind back to the stone age. ;)
Get a room you two, or I'm locking this thread.
Tried watching a little bit of the Carrey version on ABC family tonight, but the creepy dead eyed CGI characters are just as unsettling as they were in The Polar Express. When is Robert Zemeckis going to get off this motion capture zombie kick?
That sound you hear is Mr. Dickens rotating in his coffin...

Although, if ACC was under copyright, someone else would be pimping it out some other way.
Rich Little's A Christmas Carol used to play on HBO as much as Emmet Otter's Jugband Christmas did during the holidays back in the early 80's.

Some of you may be too young to recall Little's comedy act though. Are there even any impressionists working in comedy today?
Devil's Due. There is a clip on Youtube...

I still think The Night The Reindeer Died needs to be it's own movie!
Anyway...

We should have gotten to see the whole TNG crew play this out on the holodeck.Which would malfunction of course.
Would have made one heck of a Christmas episode!

*She? Look at the feet. Is there a reason for that? Either way it would make a good action figure.
Do adaptations that change the time and setting, such as An American Christmas Carol count? There's been more than a few of those.
Of course, the number of sitcoms and tv shows that have used ACC for their holiday episode is nearly impossible to measure.
Never even heard of the 2001 version. (And I've seen a lot of obscure versions.) How does the George C. Scott version rate for accuracy?
The 1970 musical Scrooge gets extra points from me for Alec Guinness as Marley, and Ebeneezer's brief visit to his own personal hell. Although I think someone involved in the production was projecting their personal kinks just a tad...

The Mickey Mouse version gets a little disturbing, since the Little Pigs are in the cast, yet a roast pig is seen in a holiday feast. What the hell?
TCM remembers 2013 montage.
I got a tear in my eye when they got to Stuart Freeborn and Ray Harryhausen. I think they missed a couple people, (I didn't see Paul Mantee) but they amended last year's montage when that happened.
