Episode III: Revenge of the Ridiculousness
Time

Almost there!

Some thoughts: The "seventeen space hours earlier" caption could be in a Star Wars font, or at least a different color/font than the subtitles. Ditto the "Meanwhile" one.

The censored cockpit speaker gag is great, but the censor bar is appearing over a monitor screen. Move it over one of the metal knobs as they look more like speakers?

Artoo ought to say "No springs!" in response to Obi Wan's "Spring the trap." Obscure MST3K reference. ;)

If you cut to another exterior battle shot at 7:03, the abrupt change from hangar to corridor will be covered.

The battle droids in the elevator could say something?

A few off screen cries of agony from Palpatine as our heroes enter the Poetry Appreciation Chamber?

If you can cut from Yoda back to Ani about two seconds sooner, (if it doesn't mess up the timing of the music) it would transition a little better. The foreground part of set that comes into the shot almost looks like an incomplete wipe.

If Bob ever comes back, the elevator buttons could have an "out of order" sign taped on them?

The bridge scenes with Steve still need some sound effects in the background. (Star Trek bridge?) You can lose them as you get into the crash scene, which gets funnier every time I see it. :)

General Star Wars <strong>Random Thoughts</strong> Thread

Some custom figures I've seen for sale are pretty elaborate. If someone made a decent Jaxxon, I'd be sorely tempted, especially as there's a new Masters of the Universe figure that would be easy to modify now.

As long as it's identified as a custom figure and nothing else, I guess there's no issue with ebay. As opposed to making your own vinyl caped Jawas and sealing them into a vintage card. ;)

It's... the Monty Python Thread

Holy crap! I remember owning that issue, and never made the Python connection. It was the year before my local PBS station started airing the show.

IIRC, Barbara and Dick finally discovered their respective secret identities in that tale. Continuity being fluid in those days, I doubt that plot point affected any of the other Bat books. ;)

Perhaps it was intentional to add another layer of strangeness? I recall other movies where the setting is a little vague, presumably because the suits don't want anything "too British" to appeal to American audiences.

I thought the original two films were heads above most of the horror coming out at the time. Freddy and Jason were veering into self parody by then.

If you want really weird accents, check out the dubbed version of the original Mad Max sometime. ;)

I had an idea of flipping the dialogue around so he's told they don't have a bridge, just a tower.  The problem there is that Shatner only says "tower" and never says "bridge."  Of course, I'm sure there's any number of Star Trek episodes and movies where he says "bridge" so maybe that's doable after all.

 It's actually funnier this way!
