Another thing that irks me is how so many people view Lando as some sort of traitor who needs to "redeem" himself somehow. He saved Leia, Chewie, and AN ENTIRE CITY FULL OF PEOPLE while risking the life of only one man, who he lead a team on a mission to save. It's not like he could have sacrificed himself to save the others. Vader knew Luke was coming and he knew Lukes friends were already there. Lando refusing to help would have only gotten more people killed and possibly a city destroyed. Even if Han died in the carbonite I don't see anything Lando could have done better and I see no need for any kind of redemption.

Yeah, I wasn't even aware anybody thought that until I saw this.

I didn't have an issue with understanding Lando's motives in 1980.

Thankfully, George was too busy making sure we knew we Vader was going in the SE to "clarify" things. Otherwise, we might have had to suffer a new shot of Lando visiting Cloud City daycare center or something. Won't somebody think of the baby Ugnaughts!

How could anyone think she was "innocent" of acting against the Empire, when we saw her put the plans in Artoo? That was no ATM card! A little early in the film to be running off to the bathroom and miss that detail. ;)

I've understood for a long time her "accent" was her senate/diplomatic tone of voice. It's her position in the senate that allowed her to travel to many places without attracting undue attention, hence Vader's line, "You weren't on any mercy mission this time."

In the real world, when royals serve in the military, how are they addressed, by title or rank?

Casper has been in so many direct to video follow ups to that film, I'm not sure if kids today have even seen the original theatrical shorts. Most of the other Harvey characters seem to have faded into obscurity.

When the heck are they going to make a Hot Stuff, The Little Devil movie?

If you want to be really creeped out, watch the vintage Casper short There's Good Boos Tonight sometime. ;)

Star Wars: Episode VII to be directed by J.J. Abrams **NON SPOILER THREAD**
Time

I must confess that if we saw an older Luke standing in a certain spot watching that double sunset, I would get goosebumps. That could be the teaser shot right there.

Luke went back to Tatooine in the Marvel comic, and the scene where he returned to the ruins of the moisture farm was touching.

Besides "The films need to be the way I want them," has Lucas stated anything as to why the Blu-rays became the travesty that they are?

Every TCM showing in the past ten years has been the 2004 version, sadly.

The original is "lost" in the same sense as the OOT is, only the changes have been obfuscated as some sort of restored director's cut, which it is not.

My personal straw on the camel's back moment came when I saw the documentary on the 2004 DVD, which will further confuse future viewers as to what a filmmaker could achieve in 1970.

Here's why I don't read modern superhero comics anymore:

Holy gratuitous violence, Batman! As context is everything, I presume that's not some evil alternate universe Superman or something?

It's sad the major publishers feel they have to do that to be relevant today. What is left that little kids can read now? Not that kids buy comics like they used to...

Mind you, Heavy Metal magazine had a certain forbidden allure when I was a teenager, with all the sex, nudity, and things you couldn't get away with in mainstream comics at the time. But I don't recall my favorite strips from that ever being that gory.

Marvel had better not gore up Star Wars when they get it back. :(

THX 1138 is definitely not lost. I watched the original on-demand a couple years ago. I believe it was standard definition, but still.

Maybe, but it's never been released on any home video format besides VHS and LD, I certainly don't see enough interest in the original version to get a it a Blu-ray release. It's like the recolorings of Aliens or Terminator, 99% of the population probably don't care enough for it to matter.

If there's a decent SD master Warner has been sitting on of the original, it wouldn't cost them much to put out via their made on demand Archive label. If they can skirt around George that is...

You think you could track that down? Even an SD version might be better than the dodgy Laserdisc master that's caused the preservation project more than a few headaches.
