They certainly weren't once the action figure was out. ;)

I'd forgotten about that! Interestingly, they made some older Anakin figures for the POTF line, including a force ghost.  Have they made a Hayden ghost action figure?

Yes, but it's not very good. I don't recall him being this sparkly. ;)

It's hilarious the card photo looks better than the movie.

What is it with Steven King Mini-series starting out good and then somewhere around the half way point turning into a joke? I swear that is what happens to ever single one I have ever watched.  It's like he starts out with a good idea but then doesn't know what to do with it so he drags things out and then pulls some insane twist that the only reason you don't see it coming is that it is so stupid.

King still bitches about Kubrick's adaptation of The Shining after all these years. It must suck to cash the royalty checks for sales of the novel with Jack Nicholson's face on the cover.

Nobody constructs elaborate theories or conspiracies about the tv miniseries version. ;)

So a random ghost is just going to show up with Ben and Yoda and smile at Luke? Give a Jedi knight a little credit to know his dad when he sees him.

Luke has likely never even seen an image of his father. Makes more sense for Anakin to appear to him at the same age as when he died, unless you're George of course. ;)

It's prettty stupid, he saved him so he's at the point before he became evil right? That's why he gots normal color for his skin and normal body parts? But for some reason he's aged. Did Luke somehow create an alternate timeline or something?

Perhaps it'll be established that the OOT will be the prequel to VII and the EU will be the sequel to the special edition.

No it's not. He's a freaking ghost. There is no physical form, it's his spirit. He was Anakin again when he died. He can appear to Luke as aged, yet healthy person if he chooses to.

If you still can't figure this out, go write George a letter.

Robot chicken? Awful. Not surprised Detours is a failure.

Actually, their Star Wars parodies are some of their best work. Palpatine as a perpetually frustrated businessman, more upset at the cost of replacing the Death Star than the political implications, is frequently hilarious. Who knew trying to run the Empire was such a pain in the butt?

They even made Boba Fett cool to me again...

They have even mocked George's SE revisions, and the plot holes of the prequels. George either hasn't noticed this, or doesn't care so long as he's gets a check.

Robot Chicken's Palpatine is the only thing I can actually stand Seth MacFarlane in. Now that is something.

I know! I usually loathe him.

It's also pretty well known that he's about the biggest dick on the planet, unless you're a sycophant.

A truly disgusting human being.

Yeah, giving all that money to charity is the work of another Hitler, no question.

Can't we at least get to page two before Godwin's Law kicks in? ;)

Having read the original making of ESB book, I disagree. Whatever you think of his work before and after Empire, Kershner rose to the occasion. There were many events on the production beyond anyone's control. That's the nature of the business, you can't plan for everything.

ESB was a far more complex film than Star Wars, and Jedi is no ESB.

Current Star Wars Blu-Ray Going Out of Print?
Time

Welcome aboard.

There's a thread over at dvdtalk.com that charts titles going out of print, so such information shouldn't be too hard to come by. There really isn't much Fox can do except repackage their current releases timed to the new film, *if* they retain the home video rights through 2015.

The trilogy sets with the DVD combos came out just a year or two ago, IIRC?

I imagine lots of things are out of stock right after Christmas though.

STID's problem is Khan was done before, and better. And how many abusing their authority admirals have we had across all incarnations of Trek?

The two times the TOS films tried to be about ideas more than action sequences, it didn't turn out very well, so it's a double edged sword. The studio doesn't want controversy either, so social commentary is going to be hard to pull off, unless it's well disguised, as TOS often did well.

Many Robot Chicken personnel were involved, but you'd never know it from those clips. They would have been better off doing it as an RC spinoff instead of grotesque CGI caricatures that makes the HS cartoon Han Solo look good.

The whole idea of Lucasfilm sanctioned parody seems at odds with the very concept of parody to begin with. You don't see Mad Magazine asking permission to lampoon anything.

How far we've come since the days when Fox actually wanted to sue over Hardware Wars.
Lucas talked them out of it, thankfully.
