Are these the same people who are mad at Disney for the EU being rebranded as Legends? I can't keep track of all these factions anymore...

Nope, they are the ones who think that the ST is unnecessary because Star Wars is 1-6, aka the Tragedy of Darth Vader.  They also want the Clone Wars brought back, because that is apparently necessary.

They are also the ones who dismiss any good thoughts on TFA as "nostalgia."

The timeframe of TCW was limited even if they had gone a couple more years. Once Ashoka had left the Jedi, we weren't too far off from the events of ROTS. Rebels is shaping up as a fine continuation.

And I really don't understand why nostalgia is a dirty word to these people. Lucas made tons of moolah on nostalgia for his hotrod teen years, and nostalgia for Flash Gordon and cliffhanger serials.

It's not like they showed them in bed or anything. ;)

It's curious they only seem to have done LALD and Moonraker. (Although Moonraker seems to be at the start of the fake 3D titles they did throughout the 80's, which cheapened the brand in my opinion.) There was hardly a popular film or tv show they didn't have a set for back then.

As you can find action figures based on R rated movie franchises at Toys R Us these days, I doubt 007 toys would make much of a fuss now. There might be a fight or two if Dad brings home a Honey Rider action figure. ;)

Wow.

So does the kids book have the sex scenes and the guy getting tossed out of the blip?

That was going to be my next question! ;)

I had the Live And Let Die Viewmaster reels once. The included story booklet didn't shy away from the Tarot Card ploy Bond uses on Solitaire.

I'm sometimes surprised at how much 007 merchandise there was aimed at kids. Mego executives must have been laughing their heads off at being able to sell a Holly Goodhead doll. I think they left her last name off the box though.
