‘I’m dreaming…of a ROTP Christmas…’
And welcome aboard, littledove!
Suddenly, I’m having TRS-80 flashbacks!

AFAIK, nobody who was involved with the X0 project is pining for the fjords. This is how silly rumors get started.
Fixed some pic links.
Again, this is the code you use…

Yeah, I thought I linked to that one already. 😉
Is snapping a guys neck really the Jedi way? 😉
…jedis always cut heads…😉
question: how can i post pics?

Very nice!
But am I the only one who initially saw the second one as saying “jar jar away”? o_O
Here’s one from a different company. Might be a public domain release though.

Right clicking on the images makes them a little bigger.

It’s hard to make out behind that pesky sticker, but that does look like a full tape spool?
The speeder test looks great! I’m stumped to find anything that needs tweaking.
The probe droids slowing down to check out the Lars family is a nice touch too. 😃
This shot might have to wait until a 16mm print of the documentary shows up, or all the docs finally get shiny new digital video transfers.
Is snapping a guys neck really the Jedi way? 😉
I kind of miss KB toys. Used to find cool stuff in their factory outlet store. Aside from Toys R Us, I don’t think there are any toy store chains left?
TRU stores have such a confusing layout these days, I felt like I was going to get lost last time I was in one. 😉
Congrats.
You’d think there would be a market for “I survived Black Friday” t shirts.
JEDIT: Apparently such shirts do exist.
The most awesome bed ever!

Do you mean VHS Hi-Fi?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VHS#Hi-Fi_audio_system
Of course, if you’re using a mono VCR for capture, it won’t matter much.
Unless a video label was super cheapo in it’s tape duplication, even a SLP recording ought to have Hi-Fi tracks.
As I’ve said in the past, the HS is a rite of passage. You’re not truly a Star Wars fan until you’ve seen the whole thing at least once.
And those who find it intolerable know nothing of hell. 😉

It’s on youtube. Watch it! I triple dog dare you!
An HD transfer of this would be to die for. I still watch the BBC broadcast of the film from time to time. I love it. Thanks to all who did work on that many years ago 😃
There is a copy on Blu-ray (BDR) now of that transfer. Feel free to PM for details.
(it is the IB Tech 35 print- it was transferred in HD)(After PM)

REDACTED
Thanks,

You do realize that the HD transfer you’re talking about should be shared on sites like Myspleen for all to enjoy, right? There’s no need to be greedy about it, unless… you don’t have what you say you have.
Covering costs is one thing. Profiting from a preservation project is verboten around here.

Loads of fun yesterday, as cops trying to flush out a suspect accidentally set a house down the street on fire. Good thing it wasn’t as windy as it is today.
And in all the excitement, I missed out on a wormhole forming.

There goes my chance to escape this rock.
In the spirit of the season, can some of you refrain from being a prick?
You can’t show a breast for very long in a PG-13 film, buy you can chop one off with a lightsaber. 😉
There is allegedly a test the eye doctor can do to check if your eyes are attuned to the 3D experience. I suspect my eyes struggle more than others but maybe I just don’t enjoy it.
Well, there’s no shortage of crazy pop-out effect movies to test yourself out on. It’s quite possible to see the effect and fail to see the point of the effect, which is where I’ve pretty much landed on every “You just have to see this in 3D!” movie. Assuming you can see the effect, it’s just a matter of finding the type of film it where you can see the point of the effect (which is subjective), and then whether you actually like that type of film (which is also subjective). If I opt to see TFA, it’ll definitely be in 2D.
One criticism I’ve read of modern 3D films, is that they are too timid in doing the pop out shots. One reason the classic stuff (when shown properly) blows it off the map.
A trip to the toy aisle to sample a Viewmaster set might be cheaper than seeing an eye doctor. Just avoid the AOTC and ROTS sets. 😉
I don’t think Jango is evil. He just allies himself with those who are paying his fee. (He functions more like a mercenary in the plot than a Bounty Hunter though.) And the clones don’t have his life experiences anyway.
It was a missed opportunity for our heroes to say: “Whatever they’re paying you, the Republic will triple it.” Jango could switch sides, still end up dead, and Boba hates Jedi.
It’s getting a little warm in here. Everybody take a deep breath, and chill?
Not all the Ewoks were cute and cuddly looking.

I always thought this fine fuzzy fellow looked more than capable of eating your face off, and making a necklace out of your toes. 😉
People have been camping out at Best Buy for Black Friday specials out here going back several years. Nothing new there.
The one year I remember Walmart being closed on a Thanksgiving(?), I saw people drive into the empty parking lot, get out, and peek in the darkened glass doors just to make sure it was really closed. I’m pretty sure when the zombie apocalypse breaks out, the undead will go there just out of habit.
I someone would play this on the P.A. system of a mall or store on Black Friday, just to set the mood. 😉
