Oh no. What have I started? 😦
Oh no. What have I started? 😦

It’s going to be interesting to see if there are any bitter fans sitting out in the cold, with signs proclaiming they are boycotting the film. 😉
Some of you can stop losing sleep worrying about this now. 😉
It’s a Cylon actually.
Thanks for taking the time to do that. Interesting that the LD image is zoomed in a bit compared to the BD.
I think they have me confused with someone else. Unless it’s a bot.
Again, mods are not omniscient. And anybody joking, (or not) about pirating TFA around here, better be prepared to produce a ticket stub before they comment on their first viewing of the film.
No visible grain at all?
The trailer looks better on VHS 😉

It was fun to make actually.
I hate to pick a nit, but linear VHS tracks were never that hissy. 😉
And no dropoouts or tracking errors?
Congrats on actually finding it. There were so many crappy slow speed PD versions released I lost count.
There was much hype with the first DVD release in 2001 being straight off of Pixar’s animation files, so I presumed previous formats took the standard mastering route of all feature films. The LD jackets don’t say what the source is though.
If someone around here has the Laserdisc, they could tell us if there’s gate weave, or other telltale signs of it being mastered from film.
Fan edit gold! Especially for Frink. 😃
Anybody get a PM out of the blue from a new user with no public posts today?
Betacam was a broadcast industry standard for decades. It’s not going to look like something recorded on a home VCR.
I do hope they shot video the day the original gang were back in costume, and stepped on the set for the first time. That had to be a magic moment.
To see a movie in 70mm again after all these years, a dome is a small price to pay.
Are you saying child actors are cheaper than adult actors? 😄
Peter Suschitzky’s cinematography in TESB is one tough act to follow.
Alan Hume actually walked out because he didn’t like how GL was treating Marquand. Alec Mills took over for the last month of production.
I’d genuinely like to know more about these.
With the exception of Warwick Davis, I think most of the Ewoks were played by adults. Child labor laws would have made the shoot even more difficult if all the Ewoks were children.
I wonder if he saw the movie, and regretted passing on the role?
Is that concept art for the Yoda movie? 😉
The Laserdisc release came from a 35mm source.
Considering I liked Splinter of The Mind’s Eye, I never even thought of that.
I imagine the B.S. levels are going to rise pretty high during these last two weeks.
Don’t give Robot Chicken any ideas! 😛
Okay, that was funny!
I wanted to get a better look at that Chewbacca sketch though. 😉
