LOL at that Pooh gif.
LOL at that Pooh gif.
Not mention that Harry Potter kid…
Yeah, they almost nailed it. It’s one of my favorite running gags, and it should have been a no brainer to keep it going.
So somebody better make sure the next release is Spaceballs: The 4k! 😉
If interest is waning that’s not inherently the fault of the franchise itself. There’s a lot more stuff competing for eyeballs these days, and not just superhero movies. I feel like the first Guardians Of The Galaxy movie actually stole a little bit of thunder from Star Wars as we hadn’t had a honest to goodness space opera flick in several years at that point.
I was disappointed that they didn’t keep the merchandising gag going on DVD and Blu-Ray covers.
At least Spaceballs spoofed the faces covers too.
Aw, SilverWook, you think there are only five Land Before Time sequels? Bless your heart.
I only did a quick glance at the IMDB. 😉
I could see them using the Lucasfilm “brand” to give an air of legitimacy to some riskier original fantasy/sci-fi/adventure IPs down the line.
If only someone at Disney had thought of that when Strange Magic was released.
Spielberg was also an executive producer on TLBT, so I would think he’s still got a stake in it somehow? Universal cranked out about five direct to video sequels though and a tv series.
Lea Thompson, who moved behind the camera and became a director, actually has expressed a desire to remake/reboot Howard. Would be interesting to know if Universal retains some movie rights the way they still do for The Incredible Hulk.
As much as I love Labyrinth it seems folly to revisit it without David Bowie. I can’t even imagine who could replace him as the Goblin King.
As opposed to full size actors pretending to be little people like in LOTR and The Hobbit films? 😉
Seriously, why would anyone have a problem with little people playing little people?

In theory sure, but compare TFA to ANH.
George’s version of “faster more intense” works, whereas JJ’s results in cringily overplayed scenes like Finn and Poe’s “good to meet you too” scene. On a related note, Oscar Isaac is really really bad in TFA. It’s like he didn’t know his character.
He either overplays it or under plays it. In the Trench run he seems bored.I would say all of that is subjective. I liked the “good to meet you too” scene. And I think Oscar Isaac is good in the film.
The dialogue in the scene is really bad and overlong and the actors seemed under the influence of some kind of stimulant.
There must be a movie with a barn burning down in it? I think it was a barn fire mentioned in Generations? A period film with a fire scene might be a good match to the buildings seen in the Family episode of TNG. It certainly can’t be a modern looking structure.
Some deep cut cosplay that makes the old Trekker in me just smile.

Some people have been looking to find fault in Disney from the day the deal was announced. This was merely an excuse to go Bantha poodoo.
The forthcoming Star Trek Picard series is probably going to ignore twenty years of TNG novels set post Nemesis, and nobody is pulling their hair out over it as far as I can tell. It does appear it will acknowledge the main timeline events of the 2009 film.
Why is Luke the Ghost of Christmas yet to come? Not to mention young Ani was never anywhere near the Lars’ farm.
I thought it was documented that a British editor did the first rough cut?
In any case, the Oscars Marcia Lucas, Richard Chew, and Paul Hirsch received for editing Star Wars speaks for itself.
Please tell me someone has done that to Boba for a fan edit.
Dooku didn’t make it on the AOTC cover? Somebody call Christopher Lee’s agent! 😉
And does that cover imply clone troop transports can fly in space?
I doubt anyone involved knows or cares. We’re lucky there aren’t clones or First Order troops on the OT covers.
ESB and ROTJ are just mimicking existing superior poster art, why do they even bother? And Disney really gave up on combo packs.
In the stuff you could never make up dept. Stephen King had a Greedo action figure on the set of Creepshow for good luck.

At 8:51 if you don’t want to watch the whole thing.
It was on the first trilogy DVD set though. It’s not some rogue unauthorized thing. George participated and probably had to sign off on letting them use the original 1977 crawl.
Has EOD been remastered in HD though?
The Blu-Ray isn’t as good as it could have been. The movie looks better in 35mm anyway.
