I honestly don’t get what’s up with this thread. When did Trump create a stereotype of 400 pound hackers?

Donald J. Trump said:

“I mean, it could be Russia, but it could also be China. It could also be lots of other people. It also could be somebody
sitting on their bed that weighs 400 pounds, OK? You don’t know who broke in to DNC.”

I don’t understand how that example is stereotyping or offensive in any way.

He’s also saying “big-league,” not “bigly.”

For his first week as president, I’m liking most everything I’m seeing. He’s pushing the pipeline forward, he has confirmed securing of the southern border, etc.

Also…

Trump signs new executive order for animal rights! PETA praises!

Nobody said he created it. He merely invoked it, probably because he’s seen it in movies or on tv. (Both of which probably feed his knowledge on computer technology.) I’ve seen the fat computer nerd stereotype going back to the late 80’s at least.

I’m fairly sure Russia is using vampires anyway. 😉

Since when do people watching an event on tv or online, (but not actually present at said event) factor into attendance numbers? By this logic, if I watch someone stream their weekend at Disneyland, that counts as me having actually gone there myself. And I thought only Hollywood had such creative number crunching. 😉

If the inauguration was a rock concert, that was not a super turnout.

It counts when it comes to how many people witnessed the Inauguration. One does not have to be in physical attendance anymore to do that.

Yes, but how many watched it naked? Or furiously did their taxes during the swearing in? 😉

Nope. You can thank my pothead parents who never had steady jobs and my utter lack of close friends growing up for that.

I can’t even fathom this. I’ve been to the movies more times than I can count (and I have tried). Nowadays I go even more often, last year I think I went on average about 3 or 4 times a month (I’m crazy I know - though that really is an average, I went only once in August but 14 times in November, including stretch where I saw seven movies on seven consecutive days - I’m crazy, I know). If you go to the right places and see the right films, there’s honestly nothing quite as magical as seeing a film on the big screen. As someone who’s seen a fuckton at home and in theaters, there’s really no comparison.

Not saying you’d feel the same way, but you’ve got to try it.

Going to the movies alone is one of the best things ever.

Would you believe that I never went to the movies alone until once a couple months ago? Not that I specifically avoided it, I just never felt compelled to go all by myself, or ever had much reason. I can say, full heartedly, that I agree. I definitely plan on going alone again, there is a whole other dimension that goes with it.

You do realize nobody under the age of 30 is going to get that joke?

I know Pee Wee Herman was around several years before the tv show, but when the heck was this taken? Pretty sure smoking wasn’t allowed in movie theaters by the end of the 70’s.

I think that children(under 18) of politicians should be off limits or at least handled lightly. It should be remembered that children(especially those younger than 17) have no say in whether or not their parents run for office.

The line has been a little fuzzy at times. With the rare exception of Glenn Beck, (who was soundly criticized for remarks made on his radio show) everybody avoided touching the Obama daughters. Bush II’s twin daughters were in their late teens as stories of their partying antics, (and giving their secret service detail migraines) began circulating. Robot Chicken regularly made fun of them.

Obama’s children were much younger than Bush II’s.

True. I do recall SNL did a skit about secret service agents trying to blend into Amy Carter’s elementary school classroom, but I don’t think they ever made jokes at her expense.

Regarding Ewoks in ROTJ, I remember seeing something years ago, that Lucas originally wanted to make a planet of Wookies.
It could’ve been on a Discovery Channel program. However, since the Chewbacca costume was made of horse hair, and was extremely expensive, they had to change it completely. Make a planet of small creatures, using less expensive material. The name Ewok came from Economical Wookie = EWOK.

Yak hair actually. And what the heck is a Wookie? 😉

That “crowd” is made up of professional journalists, whose job it is to ask questions Mr. Spicer might not like, and keep him on his toes. It is not, nor should it ever be a love fest.

Of course it is. I don’t remember saying it was or should be a love fest. If I did, please point it out. He is getting hammered and he’s keeping up. He earned his pay for sure regardless of how you feel about Republicans or the President.

Never said you did. It was better than the one sided bitch session he had over the weekend.
