A website with smaller images of the posters for informational purposes would probably fall under the umbrella of fair use. TFN has had a site with all the major posters, but not the more obscure stuff like posters sold in stores, and stuff only available through the original fan club.

I had the posters in the bottom right corner when I was a kid. My color choices with the magic markers might have been a tad off though. šŸ˜‰

Exactly, it’s the only way to see the very obscure movies or tv shows. Does anyone remember an 80’s Disney TV Movie, Mr Boogedy? A Disney family ā€œcomedy horrorā€ movie about a boogeyman haunting a house.

It was popular enough to get a sequel.

The only reason I recall this at all, is there was a costume party scene, and one of the extras was wearing a Humanoid costume left over from The Black Hole.

Does anyone remember this kind of thing? I didn’t seem that weird at the time. What were they smoking…

Oh god I had that toy…

The mid 90’s saw some strange ideas come out of Kenner.

At least the old Mini Rigs back in the 80’s looked like something that was just ā€œoff cameraā€ in the OT. In Kenner’s defense, they did follow up with more sensible things like a Hoth Rebel soldier with a laser cannon, and the Probe Droid.

Talk about an empty gesture. And also not a charity.

President Trump has donated his salary from his first few months in office to the National Park Service, making good on a campaign pledge to forego a presidential paycheck.

His gift represents a small fraction, however, of the money the Park Service stands to lose if Trump’s budget were adopted.

Instead of collecting a salary of $400,000 a year, Trump has volunteered to donate that money to charity. He chose the Park Service as the beneficiary of his first installment, $78,333, which covers the first ten weeks Trump was in office.

Zinke hinted, however, that the president’s gift won’t go very far.

ā€œWe’re about $229 million behind in deferred maintenance on our battlefields alone,ā€ he said.

Trump is proposing deep cuts to the Interior Department, which includes the Park Service. The president’s budget proposal for the coming fiscal year would trim $1.5 billion or 12 percent from the department’s budget. Ultimately, it’s up to Congress to determine how much money the department can spend.

Conservationists denounced Trump’s donation as a ā€œpublicity stunt.ā€

ā€œIf Donald Trump is actually interested in helping our parks, he should stop trying to slash their budgets to historically low levels,ā€ said Michael Brune, executive director of the Sierra Club. ā€œAmerica’s parks, and the people and economies they support, need real funding, not a giant fake check. Parks are a good investment and we must invest now if we want them to be around for our kids,ā€ Brune added.

KDK1 to KDK12…I’m sorry, Mrs. Torrance, due to budget cuts, we regretfully don’t have the funds to come up and rescue you from your crazy axe wielding husband. We recommend finding a secure location in the hotel, and locking yourself in until spring. Over and out.

  1. Tarkin is so close to looking real, it almost throws the whole illusion off

It was amazing what they pulled off with CG Tarkin, but I was always focusing on the CGIness whenever Tarkin was on.

Same here for the first couple of times I saw Tarkin up on the screen - as a bit of a fan of the old Hammer Horror era films with Peter Cushing et al, it somewhat pulled me out of the film to look to see how they did it, how real (or not) he looked, how it worked best (dimly lit shots for me - and I think a really good reflection shot) etc.

Took me a few watches to just watch it for what it was - a pretty good attempt at it, and a near spot-on portrayal from Guy Henry.

I think I’ve said this before, but As a fellow HAMMER fan, I think you might agree;
I couldn’t and don’t believe this being Peter Cushing, but I did and do buy it being the character of Tarkin.

Tarkin Lives!

I wish this was the tag line for ESB! I like that his hubris takes him down with the ship so to speak, but he’s my favorite Star Wars villain and I’d love it if he could have made it through to RotJ.

It sounds like something Marvel would have done back in the day. They did do a storyline between ESB and ROTJ, where Luke and company have a to sabotage a new battle station named The Tarkin before it’s operational. In retrospect, I’m surprised Lucasfilm didn’t object to that, unless they borrowed the idea. šŸ˜‰

I’m guessing the announcement of the Han Solo movie title and a Last Jedi teaser. Maybe Lucas will make a surprise appearance- in that case no OOT announcement.

Given the slightly scorched earth between Disney and George lately, a Dave Prowse appearance is more likely. šŸ˜‰

Didn’t Prowse announce a year or two ago on his Facebook he was retiring from public appearances??

Don’t know about that, but he’s been ā€œbannedā€ from Celebration for quite some time. This would have been a good time to bury the hatchet and welcome him back.

One could probably make the argument that if every deaf person was cured, the uniqueness of deaf culture would be lost.

To that I again answer with this). How do you justify denying the woman in the video the ability to hear?

I could never justify denying someone the ability to hear. Just pointing out some in the deaf community have a different point of view.

One could probably make the argument that if every deaf person was cured, the uniqueness of deaf culture would be lost.

I was listening to the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy radio series last night, (I just found a long misplaced CD with MP3’s of it recently) and there was a whole bit about people using simulated maladies in order to motivate them to achieve great things. (Real diseases long having been conquered, leaving the medical community seeking new forms of income.) One character even has a gizmo that instills a fake fear of pursuit to run faster. Douglas Adams was truly ahead of the curve.

How much taxpayer dollars does it take to change the lights to blue anyway?

Has the White House ever had the lights changed to pink for Breast Cancer?

Good question! I just think actually doing something more concrete like passing legislation to fund more research is a tad more meaningful.

JEDIT: I guess moviefreakedmind answered that question.

An E.P.A. scientific review panel made up of academic experts last July also had raised questions about some of the conclusions the chemical safety staff had reached. That led the staff to revise the way it had justified its findings of harm, although the agency employees as of late last year still concluded that the chemical should be banned.

Mr. Pruitt, in an announcement issued Wednesday night, said the agency needed to study the science more.

ā€œWe need to provide regulatory certainty to the thousands of American farms that rely on chlorpyrifos, while still protecting human health and the environment,ā€ Mr. Pruitt said in his statement. ā€œBy reversing the previous administration’s steps to ban one of the most widely used pesticides in the world, we are returning to using sound science in decision-making — rather than predetermined results.ā€

The United States Department of Agriculture, which works close with the nation’s farmers, supported Mr. Pruitt’s action.

ā€œIt means that this important pest management tool will remain available to growers, helping to ensure an abundant and affordable food supply for this nation,ā€ Sheryl Kunickis, director of the U.S.D.A. Office of Pest Management Policy, said in a statement Wednesday.

Dow Agrosciences, the division that sells the product, also praised the ruling, calling it in a statement ā€œthe right decision for farmers who, in about 100 countries, rely on the effectiveness of chlorpyrifos to protect more than 50 crops.ā€

Though I can see why you cherry-picked the article for info relative to your displeasure of Trump and Republicans, they didn’t make the decision. It was Mr. Scott Pruitt. Write your state officials and voice your concerns. Let them hear your displeasure so they can voice that concern up the ladder. It is your right as an American and your obligation if you disagree with choice made.

Give em hell Frink.

DDT was such was a resounding environmental success, so why worry? šŸ˜‰

Thank goodness a lot of farms around here are organic.
