Han - Solo Movie ** Spoilers **

Did you see Tarkin in R1? They’ve come a long way. I bet they could make a very convincing Jabba now.

Yes, I did see Tarkin in R1. And it was the moment when I stopped caring about that movie and very nearly gave up on the new continuity. Bad storytelling decision, awful CGI, disrespectful as hell to Peter Cushing.

Cushing’s estate gave their blessing.

on the lighter side of politics…

a shame Mr Buckethead ‘only’ managed 249 votes vs Theresa May in Maidenhead - though he is now free for panto and Dr Who appearances 😉

^ just for clarity - Lord Buckethead is in the black suit, just to the right of the emotionless robot with views from another world in the red suit.

Your lunatic fringe candidates are way more fun than ours.

Lord Buckethead looks like the Black Knight from Holy Grail and Darth Vader’s love child.

Sort of. A deleted AOTC scene featured looping holographic images on the walls.

thank god that was cut

Don’t really think it made a diff in the final equation…
But lol at Puddle’s Reno nightmare getup.

I thought it was a nice little scene that gave some needed dimensions to our heroes. Probably a bit too slow for the frenetic pace of a Star Wars film. Now that I think about it, I could see Frink utterly destroy it by having Padme explain she wiped out the entire race of cute aliens with her bad headcold or something.

As I was just in Reno, nobody was dressed like Padme that I could see. 😉

Lol at a supposed grown man saying things like “diff.”

Lulz @ some bitter, jealous dipshit who supposedly has a family he’s responsible for but instead obsessively trolls a chat bored devoted to '80s space-fantasy obscurantism not knowing the diff btwn “saying” and “typing” and then threadcrapping with a non-responsive, non sequitur ad hominem and then typing “lol”.

Plus, I never claimed to be a “grown man” (sexist much, btw—is that “girl talk” or something?).
I’m a meta-sentient incorporeal cyber-imp.

Get a room.

Wonder Woman (2017):

I can’t wait for the inevitable complaints about this somehow being “feminist propaganda” like what happened to TFA. Overall, it was good enough for me, but I could’ve done without the whole Wonder Woman vs British-guy-who-builds-his-own-armour-out-of-runway-wreckage fight scene at the end (I’m assuming that’s some DC villain from the comics I haven’t heard of). I’m just goddamn tired of these superhero movies ending with a blue laser being fired.

The Thing (1982):

Hard to believe this actually received so many negative reviews at the time.

It was the summer of E.T. Nobody wanted terrifying malevolent aliens.

George is the one who decided not to be there. I guess a race in Monaco was more important to him than celebrating the 40th anniversary with all the people who helped him make the movie.

Considering how badly he doesn’t want to be associated with Star Wars anymore, I’m not surprised.

Attending Celebration and that photo taken in Monaco seems to contradict that a tad?

General Star Wars Random Thoughts Thread
Time

Had some time to kill after a doctor’s appointment today, and wandered the local mall for a while. I thought the Disney store would have more Star Wars stuff? I find the die cast figures amusing, as there were bootleg Kenner figures in Europe made out of metal. Just the thing you want little Timmy dropping off a third story balcony on someone’s head.

Disappointed in the lack of Moroff merchandise. (They really missed the boat not making a plush toy.) I didn’t see any Guardians Of The Galaxy stuff, but I didn’t wander too far into the store.

Bought some groceries at Target, and passed through the toy aisle, and what should I see? That action figure two pack with Moroff! Only one on the pegs, and sitting right in front like it was waiting for me. Impulse buy! Haven’t bought a SW figure in a long time.
