This looks like something many around here will want to peruse!

There are probably some cliffhanger serials with Revenge in the individual chapter titles that influenced Lucas.
And George mentioned the title during production on ESB in one of the interviews for the original making of book! At what point did somebody attempt to tell him or did he come to a realization on his own?
I do wonder if there was ever a crawl shot with Revenge.
And as that website mentions, the Rebel pilot helmets were originally meant to have their own style of faceplates.
I’ve noticed in a lot of movies involving pilots, in everything from WWII flicks to Top Gun they take off their oxygen asks briefly for dramatic purposes. I think rebel pilots had facemasks for emergencies in a couple Marvel comics.
One could speculate that in universe the same company that made the old helmets the Rebels use is cranking out TIE pilot versions. A good design doesn’t need to be messed with too much.
This is a great website if you don’t know about it already.

There’s a Star Wars themed watering hole in Hollywood that might!

Womp rats!
I’m surprised this hasn’t been done for a fan fan film, yet… 😃
It sort of was, over a decade ago.

Is it possible TCM still has the DVD in stock?

Do not order the large soda!
I’m going to the marathon! I have to!
The stampede to the restrooms between films isn’t going to be a pretty sight.

The quality isn’t the best, but you can see the back of the Navajo DVD cover in this youtube video.

Maybe you can ask them to take a photo?
they also used concept art in several other issues of the series , off the top of my head , I remember in issue 25 they used some of Johnston’s Death Star trench sketches for the background of Jorman Thoad’s used Starship lot ,
Interesting, do you mean this one? It’s the only one I could find that resembled the original comic panel.
in issue 61 , the rebel tech who explains the T.I.E. fighter modifications to Luke and Shira is based off of Ralph Mcquarrie sketches in the art of Star Wars books , and in issue 59 , Lando’s outfit is based off of ROTJ concept sketches . I am sure there are more examples .
Now that you mention it that outfit on the cover does have a ROTJ feel to it. Though that must have meant that Marvel was seeing concept art for ‘Revenge of the Jedi’ as early as 1982. Or was there some kind of pre-release concept art book or something similar that I’m unaware of?
^ nice finds man ! always love seeing Simonson’s pure art . There was also a Joe Johnston concept of those troopers leaning against the legs of a walker and one was even enjoying a smoke !
Lol, yeah it does kind of look like he’s smoking. I’m guessing you meant this sketch?.
It kinda reminds me of the three panels in the ANH adaptation where Vader levitates a coffe cup (or some other hot drink) over to himself and holds it as if he was about to start drinking it. I remember seeing that as a kid and wondering how he was going to drink it with his helmet on.
I think the bit with the cup was in the novel as well. Although Spaceballs pretty much answered that question, I presume there could be some apparatus inside Vader’s helmet that could allow him to drink? 😉
I had no idea. Excellent work!
For some historical context, I should add there was a point before the mid 70’s when you could find really cool costumes in stores similar to what you made. I had one sweet Batman outfit just a few years before. I think it came from Sears. Then suddenly kid’s costumes being potentially flammable became a big news item (and being easily seen at night when crossing the street) and the end result was the bland unimaginative thing like you see above. At least that’s how I remember things going down. Much like the lurid stories of demented fiends tampering with Halloween candy, there was probably a lot of hysteria about such things at the time.
My Mom made me some costumes over the years. For 1978, I went as a knockoff Vader with a helmet like this one, because no way in heck was I ever getting one of those 75 buck Don Post Vader helmets.
I peeled off the tacky decals though.
My Mom made a suit to go with it based on this Vader clone I had.
I also had a cheap knockoff glow in the dark sword to go with it.
Those beat the crap out of the crappy SW costumes they foisted on kids back in 1977! Mom got me a Threepio costume but I wasn’t going to be caught dead in the suit that came with the mask. (FYI I was not Chewie obsessed yet.)
I ended up taking some yellow sweats and drawing all of Threepio’s details on with a magic marker. (The sweats nicely solved the usual dreaded problem of parental units making you wear a warm coat over your costume.) I partnered with a neighborhood kid who made an Artoo out of cardboard boxes with a flashing light in the head. Some people questioned whether anyone was actually in Artoo, implying I was trying to hustle more candy out of them. 😉
Wish I could find a photo of my costume after all these years. There ought to be one somewhere.
Ever lie awake at night wondering which Columbo guest stars went on be in a Star Wars film? Wonder no longer!

Didn’t they do things like the OT trooper voices by simply recording them over walkie-talkies? Even CB radios are still around in this crazy digital era we live in.
Here’s the new trailer!
BILL BURR!
Anyone else thing the Mandalorian guy sounds like a PT clone?
(I haven’t seen the PT since 2005ish, so I could be wrong, but it stood out to me)
Now, how am I gonna watch this thing?
I think his arms are supposed to be somewhat closer than the rest of his body. His hands are a bit on the huge side though.
Interesting that the Boris poster art got reused that way. Wonder if it was done with permission? How did they even alter the poster art in the pre digital era?
Is there even a regular military in the old Republic? We see some non clone officers, but not much else. Naboo’s forces are referred to in TPM as volunteers. And the bad guys use droids.
Star Trek has always found a way of taking aliens that seem all bad at first and showing us there are exceptions though. Something I wish Star Wars would do more often.
On the flip side of the coin, we have seen Wookiees in the EU that are rough customers.
A noble Hutt with good intentions that has to overcome the preconceptions others would have because of his species’ criminal reputation would be an interesting idea to explore. We’ve had a good Rodian or two, (one of Anakin’s pals in TPM and one in Resistance) so anything is possible.
Ziro the Hutt had one good quality in that he seemed to have seriously loved Sy Snootles, which led to his downfall.
I would guess something by Joe Johnston or Nilo Rodis-Jamero out of the ESB sketchbook?
