Will they shy away from the fact Han was smuggling drugs for Jabba? Spice isn’t a condiment. 😉
Well, I could link to a clip of Spock jamming with those space hippies, but that would violate the Geneva Convention. 😉

Does Peter have to be back in high school every time they reboot Spidey? I like watching movies with characters in high school about as much I like having dreams where I’m still in high school.

More Rachel, less Brendan please.
More actual pictures, less broken hotlinking please.
They were actual pictures at one point.
I guess he should have used Trump’s Time Machine before posting them.
For someone who professes to hate Trump so much, you sure do act like him almost all the time.
Petty and vindictive, grudges from thread to thread, all in 140 chars or less!
Knock it off.
Sounds like they’re doing something that will piss off their paying customers. I’ve always found them a hassle to use, and they have popups that get around my blockers too. There are better image hosting sites out there, but a pain in the ass to move if you have tons of stuff.
Something going on with photobucket, as images are coming up like that elsewhere. Wonder if they got hacked?
Continuing on from this post:
It’s the third Captain America film.
No, it’s not. It is basically The Avengers 2.5: The Apology for Age of Ultron. It wouldn’t be that much of a problem, if the movie would feature just Cap as the main character, hence the title CAPTAIN AMERICA.
The whole heart of the film is a continuation of what came before in Winter Soldier and First Avenger. The film is about Captain America refusing to give up on his best friend or to compromise his morals.
Even you stick just the Cap movies, with Civil War the viewers face serious problems to follow/understand what’s going on.
The audience doesn’t live in a vacuum, if they’ve made it through three Captain America films then they’re well aware of the Avengers and Iron Man even if they haven’t seen those films.
If Gunn is trying to avoid the repercussions of his heroes mingling with the greater MCU then why didn’t he set Vol. 3 before Infinity War?
My guess is, Gunn sets GOTG3 eight years after Infinity War, because the incidents of that movie will be probably be dealt with - mentally & personally for the GOTG ensemble. Gunn won’t have to make to make a big deal out of it. Maybe the GOTG characters will mention the Infinity War in one or two scences. The most important thing: with the eight year time gap, Infinity War is out of the way and Gunn can focus on the third story he wants to tell for the GOTG ensemble. And mark my words: none of the Avengers guys will have a supporting role or impact in that movie.
I’ve been doing some serious digging and I have yet to find any evidence to support this idea that Vol. 3 is set 8 years after Infinity War that you keep bringing up. What is currently known is that Vol. 2 is set two months after the first film in 2014 and that Infinity War takes place four years after Vol. 2. Which means that Infinity War takes place in 2018, the same year of its release. All that’s known about Vol. 3 is that it takes place after the Infinity War.
Do you have a source for this eight year thing?
Putting that aside for the moment. The Guardians are and always have been an integral part of what’s happening in the MCU. They’re tied to Thanos and Thanos is the big bad that everything has been leading to. The first Guardians was the first time Thanos saw any significant amount of screen time. It also is the film that explains what the infinity stones are, the very McGuffins that have been driving the entire MCU plot forward in the background. Both Gamora and Nebula are daughters of Thanos and are undoubtedly going to play a very significant role during the Infinity War.
They’re still a bit self contained at this point. I was expecting at least one of the Avengers to show up in the “meanwhile, back on Earth” scenes in GOTG 2, but that didn’t happen.
I suspect all the disinterested parties will watch the trailers anyway. 😉
4K just opens the door for more screwed up color timings on old movies than we’ve suffered already. And overcooked Atmos mixes with no original audio mix in sight is already a thing.
And that’s the reason why the GOTG movies stick out of the MCU - they work very good on their own without the necessity of watching/knowing the other ‘standard’ MCU superhero movies. I dare you, try to watch Captain America 3: Civil War without knowing the precursor movies. James Gunn is aware of that. Is it a coincidence that the third GOTG movie is supposed to take place approximately eight years after the Infinity War? Guess not - Gunn wants to keep the GOTG to be detached to a certain point of view within the MCU.
Let’s examine this shall we?

It wouldn’t be that much of a problem, if the movie would feature just Cap as the main character, hence the title CAPTAIN AMERICA. But it doesn’t - the movie acts like an Avengers movie due to the ensemble characters … too many ensemble characters. Even you stick just the Cap movies, with Civil War the viewers face serious problems to follow/understand what’s going on. The gap between Winter Soldier and Civil War is too big because of the interconnected incidents of other MCU movies.

My guess is, Gunn sets GOTG3 eight years after Infinity Way, because the incidents of that movie will be probably be dealt with - mentally & personally for the GOTG ensemble. Infinity Way sounds like more fun than an Infinity War. 😉
The first Fraser Mummy was better than the last Indiana Jones movie. 😉
She should start acting like a producer IMO.
I’m sure the co-founder of Amblin Entertainment and producer on the Indiana Jones trilogy, Back to the Future, E.T., Jurassic Park, Schindler’s List, etc. really values your opinion.
Who gives a **** what she thinks. She’s had a hand in making as many good Star Wars movies as I have. Except I’m not telling everyone here to **** off and live with the Special Editions. And I’m not hiring screwball directors and then firing them when they make a screwball movie.
Alderaan-1
Kathleen Kennedy-0
Look, I’m no fan of her either, as she’s currently roadblock #1 in the way of getting the OOT, but you’re really just talking smack now.
I was just going off what other people said here and what was in that article.
I have no doubt that what Kennedy and Kasdan were seeing was terrible.
The question is why she hired them in the first place.
When I read the articles today the much more worrying thing about this movie were the things the co-directors (??) said. These guys sound like total bozos.
And wtf would anyone want to watch a Han-Solo learning-from-his-mentor (?!?!?!) movie?
I posted that months ago or last year, whenever it was they brought Woody on board.
The directors had a chance to talk about their movie and talk about Woody’s role, and instead they started talking about how good he was at ping pong. They are just screwballs, which is ok I guess that’s their thing and some people like that. But my point is you know what you are getting with them, so if you don’t want that, why hire them?
I would think anyone in that position wasn’t about to divulge anything about the plot let alone what role Woody is playing.
I wonder if the Matrix sequels get this much defense? 😉
The original gets enough for all of them. 😛
Ouch. I don’t have any issues with the original film.

There have been more troubled productions in movie history. Watch the documentary on the making of Elizabeth Taylor’s Cleopatra movie sometime. It almost drove 20th Century Fox out of business.
What is the norm for camera setups these days? Just how many angles can you get on a rather tiny set like the MF cockpit?
Keep in mind it suits Disney’s purposes to put disinformation out there. Which is why the Ace Ventura thing smells funny on the surface.
This one is really quite sad. One of the twins who played baby Oscar in Ghostbusters 2.

Not sure I even want to imagine what a Cronenberg directed ROTJ would have been like. Videodrome still freaks me out. 😉
Disney lawyers > director’s guild lawyers
Don’t forget the DGA made a big stink and fined George over putting Kershner’s name at the end of ESB. (They somehow overlooked Lucas doing it to himself on Star Wars.) Lucas quit the DGA and the pool of director’s he could hire from for Jedi was limited by that. Probably one reason Spielberg never directed an episode.
Lucas was independent enough that he could make films outside the Hollywood system, but Disney isn’t.

That it took five months to see the problems and correct them is not good.
I’m still bummed we didn’t get more Morn episodes. And he should have finally had a line onscreen in the very last episode. Just one little word? 😉
