Moral Narcissism

The leadership of the Left are intensely depraved outright psychopaths. It’s extremely alarming to see regular Americans excuse their catastrophic destruction with […]

Seriously. What is a regular American? Do regular Americans have kids? If so, are single adults not regular Americans? Are regular Americans divorced? How many times have they been divorced? What kind of job do they have? How much money do they make? What kind of car do they drive? Do they own or rent? How big is their residence? Do they have a pet? What kind of pet and how many? Do they have a smartphone?

For any quantitative answer of the above, what is the acceptable standard of deviation from the “regular” mean, median, and/or mode to still be in range of being considered normal?

How many qualifiers must be met to be considered regular? Can someone be single, work at McDonalds and have a flip phone or a landline phone and be regular? Is there a tax-bracket that, once one exceeds it they are no longer regular? I own a Nintendo Switch. Do regular Americans own a Switch? Do regular Americans prefer Apple or Android? I hate Apple. Am I regular?

Who the heck is a regular American?

Well, in this context, I was referring to denizens of North America who are qualified to vote in elections but not particularly concerned with lefty activist political scheming.

In the sense of your question, I would say that a Regular American is one who is a born or properly naturalized citizen with appreciation for the Principles that have fostered everything pleasant and decent in American society and who have considerable desire to live their lives according to what we all, underneath it all, know to be True (this will shock many, but that doesn’t include “transgender” 9 year old boys in skin-tight pink outfits on the covers of our most august publications.) This also is not dependent on marital status or tax bracket or game console disposition…

Movies generally considered "bad" that you like.

I think the movie is quite underrated. Remove the kid and his monkey and it’s a complete winner.

The kid and his monkey were in the original cartoon and frequently saved Speed’s butt. Rewatching the series, I laughed my head off at how Speed actually said “I give up.” after finding they had stowed away in the car again for the umpteenth time. All the gadgets on the Mach 5, and they didn’t put a lock on the trunk. 😉

The movie succeeded in making me feel like I was seven years old again, and my hat is off to the Wachowskis for that. I almost think the movie is actually set in one of those “happy” versions of The Matrix.

To me, saying Doc Brown is too recognizable to be a convincing Kruge is to say Shran is too recognizable to be a convincing Weyoun.

To you, maybe. To me, I have zero idea what this means.

It means this is all the same actor, and this is all from just Trek.

And they can get away with using him that because he’s never had a role or persona that defined him to millions of people.

Horror movie fans notwithstanding. 😉

You’re saying you didn’t like Kruge’s character from Star Trek III? I thought he did a fantastic job.

All I could see was Doc Brown in a Klingon costume.

Nevermind that Back to the Future was released July 3, 1985, and Star Trek III was released June 1, 1984.

I saw at least one stand up comedian at the time point out it was Reverend Jim from Taxi in a Klingon costume. 😛

I’ve long been a proponent of removing Fett from ROTJ entirely, but I have to say I like the idea of Fett informing Vader about Luke’s presence at Jabba’s palace. If that could be worked out convincingly, I’d be happy.

But if not, I’m still all for axing Fett from ROTJ.

that just might work…

I like that! Is the sail barge hangar background a mockup or from something else?

Calling Vader from Slave 1 might make more sense, as Fett would have a reason to check on his ship once in a while and it’s more private.

General Star Wars Random Thoughts Thread

Now here’s a real curiosity. Super 8 film of the Making Of Star Wars shot off a tv screen, presumably during the original 1977 broadcast.

I wonder if anyone was crazy enough to try doing this with the Holiday Special?

Episode IX: The Rise Of Skywalker - Discussion * SPOILER THREAD *

Abrams did Lost. I don’t know of anyone who liked how it ended. His Star Trek movies sucked. TFA has major issues in terms of basic story telling. Abrams is the absolute worst person to pick for IX. I officially predict it will suck. It will be pretty, it will have great characters, but the story will have major holes and the ending will be meh. IX needs an epic ending and Abrams is the worst person to deliver that. God help us if he has anything to do with the writing of it. With a good script it stands a chance (though Abrams will likely screw up the editing like he did in TFA), but I predict he will have a hand in writing it and he will edit it and it will be the worst Star Wars movies I have ever seen. I will see it though, but I expect to be disappointed.

Interesting, because I liked the '09 film and Beyond and I’m probably the oldest old school Trekker around here.
Ironic some criticism of the '09 film was that it was essentially Trek Wars.
