And I had to google just to remember who those guys were. :p
And I had to google just to remember who those guys were. :p
Aren’t the Fleischers on the Anthology box set already?
Holy **** indeed. I imagine they took notice of all the fan efforts the past several years. Going to be weird finally seeing those scenes in widescreen.
Too bad Warner doesn’t own Star Wars. 😉
Interestingly it’s appeared in various other places, like videogames from the acceptable Rogue Squardon titles (I forget if the third included it outside co-op) to the almost unplayable Rebel Assault. On film I think the nonsensical ending to ROTJ SE is the only example. They still producd a whole bunch of toys anyway of course.
I’m surprised Kenner never made one back in the day, as they started making vehicles like the Imperial Troop transporter, which never appeared on screen. Then again, with the exception of the die cast mini, we never got a Y-Wing until the ROTJ line.
It seems like it was a missed opportunity to not have young Anakin be a hot shot Skyhopper pilot in TPM.
Have any behind the scenes photos ever turned up that show much of the full size Skyhopper was actually built? We only ever see one angle of it in the finished film.
A house down the street has Halloween decorations up already. I’m totally okay with this.
None that I’ve ever heard of. Interesting that both the Marvel comic and the radio drama covered similar ground.

If they ever were to do a standalone movie about Luke’s life on Tatooine, this would be a great base for the script.
And that Megaforce clip makes the flying motorcycles in Galactica 1980 look good!
Mocking the guy who’s just demonstrated he has now got a bigger nuke and a ICBM to put it on is always a good idea. Are we in a bad remake of Dr. Strangelove?
How many citizens even own cars in NK that gas lines would be a problem?
And again, that is the worst handwriting I’ve ever seen.
I watched Orville and was quite pleased. The visuals are gorgeous, I’m a little surprised they managed to pull that off on a TV budget. The humor can be a bit bluer than I care for at times but it’s not too bad. You can tell they were very earnest with the writing on this series and it feels like a love letter to classic Star Trek. There’s a real heart to it.
So if Discovery turns out to be the disaster in making it seems to be at least we’ll have one decent new Trek series to watch.
As Jonathan Frakes and Robert Duncan McNeil are supposed to each be directing an episode, the Trek connection is getting stronger.
Maybe they’ll get Patrick Stewart to play a warped version of Picard? 😉
It was a cryptic answer to a badly worded question. If I was that guy I’d be mentally kicking myself for a long time over that.
Who chooses IMDB’s “Known For” anyway?

Alien
Brett
(1979)The Green Mile
Toot-Toot
(1999)Paris, Texas
Travis Henderson
(1984)The Avengers
Security Guard
(2012)What.
No mention of Repo Man?
That’s two cast members from Alien we’ve lost this year.
And I thought I’d seen every bad knockoff toy under the sun.

If they went back to Boba sounding like he did pre SE, it would be very significant.
Oh brother!
It’s too bad the stereo mix on the old Discovision Laserdisc hasn’t been carried over to modern releases.
Oh? Can you elaborate about this, please? Is it better/different to that on the DVD and the uncompressed 2.0 LPCM stereo on the Blu-ray?
JEDIT: Ah, the Blu-ray is actually mono. Bill Hunt seems to have misreported the specs.

There was a thread over at the LDDB forum where it was discussed in detail.

As it’s an early title the discs are prone to the same defects and rot as most Discovision pressings are. I have two copies, and the rot affects the sound on both.
Is it possible somebody could work some digital magic cleaning the audio up?
The BSG Blu Ray is a significant upgrade, but Universal deserves a Cylon invasion for bundling it with cropped for widescreen versions. You can’t get the full frame set separately unless someone breaks up the set on Ebay.
Looking around on Ebay and Rockamerica was still around well into the DVD era. Lots of listings to go through though.
They didn’t get their parents together at the Enchantment Under The Sea dance I guess? 😉
There were also video jukeboxes back in the day, although I never saw one in my neck of the woods. Not sure what format they used.
There was also a Laserdisc based system I saw in music stores and some department stores with music sections. A flat touch sensitive pad with pictures of current albums allowed you to select a music video from each album. The selection was changed every few months. Not sure what year that began, but the discs turn up on Ebay.
Some guys I knew back in college put together a music video show and wrote letters to the music labels and got boxes of U-matic tapes in return. Can’t recall if any of the big labels sent tapes. The show never went anywhere beyond the pilot as the teacher in charge of the tv station wanted more effing talk shows.
If that was the case, wouldn’t the Psychic Friends Network have warned her of impending doom?

I don’t think anime existed as a definition when I was a kid watching the show.
Crazy idea, but what if we bought them, complained we were sold a bootleg product and demand refunds? We could keep doing it to these Greedos so long as the money is refunded.
Ugh.
Did anyone catch The Orville on Fox? I heard it’s playing it mostly straight and not the wacky Trek spoof the promos made it out to be. Which begs the question of how it’s going to avoid a big fat lawsuit from Paramount.
Because Paramount doesn’t own a copyright on science fiction? Even if they played it completely straight, they’re not stealing anything.
After what they did to kneecap fan films, I don’t put anything past them. Remember when Fox was lawsuit happy while drunk off the profits from Star Wars? They went after Battlestar Galactica, and even wanted to sue over Hardware Wars until George talked them out of it.
