Maybe if it was an all Star Trek channel with every series and rarely seen tv specials. An all Stargate streaming service is starting up including the newest series.
There’s a lot of vintage Trek interviews in the vaults from shows like Entertainment Tonight and the Sci Fi channel airing of TOS they could probably get.
Alas, I can barely watch youtube stuff without buffering from hell.

It could go either way. Avatar fans are all gonna be 10 years older and have probably moved on, 3D hype is long dead… but at the same time it will feel like something new to some audiences by the time all the other blockbuster franchises outstay their welcome.

But on topic the “it’s definitely going to be 2020” feels like wishful thinking at this stage.

If the glasses free tech Cameron wants is ready by the time the film comes out, that might be a game changer.

Anyone here plan on actually subscribing to CBS All Access for Discovery? I think that if I like the TV premiere I’ll wait for the eventual complete season Blu-Ray and watch DS9 in the meantime.

I think episodes are going to circulate on the interwebs the way Enterprise episodes did back when most fans didn’t have a UPN station in their area. CBS is going to take a bath on this subscription thing whether the show is good or not. Sure, some hardcore fans will bite, but how do you draw new people in?

Does anyone in the world actually care about the Avatar sequel? The opinions of everyone I know range from “huh?” To “meh.”

I can’t find anybody with any interest at all. Searching for such has actually become a hobby for me. Also finding somebody who can recall even one character name or quote a line of dialog from the first one. Avatar has been as forgotten as any other dumb summer blockbuster.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park in Florida opened an Avatar land this past summer.

From what I’ve read it’s quite popular. Whether that translates to ticket sales when the sequels come out is anyone’s guess.

Caught back to back episodes of The Orville on FX tonight. I think I like it! And I’m no Seth McFarlane fan. Recognized the building in one episode as an office complex by the 101 freeway about 15 miles from here. I think Airwolf used it too. Actually went there with my father once many years ago.

Spotted the homage to The Cage in the other episode a mile away. Anyone think that one large alien in the other cage looked like Ludo from Labyrinth?

FOX clearly had no clue how to promote this, so I hope it gets a chance to hit it’s stride.

People are getting so jittery a routine night launch from Vandenburg AFB overnight made some wonder what was going on. Kind of bummed I missed it as I can see such launches from in front of my house.

I actually heard an explosion tonight while out for a walk. Even felt it from the ground. The fire dept. had gone by about ten minutes earlier, so that was probably connected. I still nearly freaked.
