There was a third Creepshow movie???
There was a third Creepshow movie???
If you were half the man he was !
No TLJ spoilers. 😉
The problem with criticizing the kamakaze act in TLJ is that in the name of fairness, you’re going to have to nitpick the use of Ion Cannons.
“Well, if a few blasts of an ion cannon can cripple a star destroyer, why doesn’t the empire use more of them against the rebels!”
Have we ever seen an Ion cannon fired from a spacecraft? Seems like the thing is huge, and probably dependent on that big power generator the Walkers took out. One can argue that particular SD captain was overconfident (our first catch of the day) and didn’t have his shields up. We also don’t see any other SD’s get hit.
And while we’re at it, let’s nitpick how Luke was able to leave Hoth with little trouble while everyone else had to go through a blockade.
The Imperial fleet is probably chasing down the bigger ships, (all of which have fled Hoth at that point) and it’s easier to slip away. Space is big, really big Wedge and those other pilots getting to their X-Wings probably did the same.
And while I’m thinking about it, if Leia knew the Falcon was rigged with a tracking device, why didn’t they go out of light speed somewhere far from the base, rendez-vous with a cruiser, and leave Han.
And make sure the cruiser brings Han his money? 😉 There are arguments that the Rebels want to bring the DS to them, gambling that they will find a weakness in time. Han refused to believe they were being tracked anyway.
Kylo could have some classic posters and such on his walls.

And yes, they did misspell Vader on official merchandise. I had a patch like this.
It’s funny how antsy fans are getting for a trailer for a movie they supposedly have no interest in.
But Dom, the evil axis of Disney, J.J. Abrams, and Rian Johnson is ruining Star Wars.
Don’t forget Kathleen Kennedy, the Disney Apologists and the SJW’s 😉
Yep. It was Kennedy who fired Lord and Miller, which means the movie is now ruined and will be very bad, even though fans didn’t want Lord and Miller in the first place.
Really? I don’t recall Lucasfilm calling me up and asking my opinion on the matter. 😛
Something that hit me today is this whole movie is essentially a giant “Han shot last”. Everyone freaked out at changing Han in ANH from shooting first because it changed his character from a ruthless scoundrel selfish smuggler who has no problem killing who made friends and turned out to be a hero in the end to somebody who was “always good” and would never shoot first, or at least without provocation. This movie will unavoidably portray Han in a heroic light (because that’s what Star Wars is) which completely undermines his OT arc worse than shooting last did in the SE.
I had similar reservations at first, but I really don’t buy that Han was a horrible person pre-OT anyway.
Law breaker? Yeah.
Drug smuggler? Yeah.
Arrogant? Yeah.
Kill rather than be killed? Yeah.
“No problem with killing”? No, he’s not a murderer and I don’t believe he’s the kinda guy who kills without reason.
I have friends who fit this description. And while they aren’t involved in shootouts on the reg, I assure you they (and me) would rather shoot than be shot and wouldn’t wait for the gun pointed at them to go off before pulling the trigger. (again, it’s not a situation we find ourselves in, but I don’t have to wonder what would happen.)Even with all that said, I just doubt anybody could play the character and make me believe it’s Han. He’s my favorite character to ever appear in anything. If not for Han, I’d never have gotten into StarWars. I’m willing to give it a chance though.
I thought Perry King was pretty good as Han in the OT radio drama adaptations.
It’s not necessarily bad for Star Wars. Universal, (which is owned by Comcast) could release it on video. Disney and Universal have a bit of a working relationship as well. Universal still has rights to The Incredible Hulk, but the big green guy gets to be in the Avengers movies. That could bode very well for all the Marvel characters Fox has the rights to.
In 2006 Universal gave Oswald The Lucky Rabbit, a character Walt Disney created before Mickey but was never able to retain the rights to early in his career, back to Disney in exchange for an ESPN sportscaster!
Plot twist!

Why do people on live streams and on fourm sites including this one ask for mod.
I don’t have any idea what this means.
I am asking why do people ask for mod
This does not clarify things.
He wants to know why some people keep asking to be moderators (even though I’ve never seen this here).
They clearly don’t know the downsides of the job. 😛
Mark’s Down On Your Syntax said:
With all the talk of Reddit in another thread and with me never really having gone there I thought I’d have a look and see what it was all about.
In other completely unrelated news I’d like to take this opportunity to say that this site is the best site ever and you’re all wonderful people and I’ll never moan about you or take you for granted again.
I want this statement etched on a bronze plaque. 😉
They had me at the Tag and Bink cameos. : )

I can still enjoy it, though. But yeah, that guy is not Han. No way no how. Donald Glover looks amazing as Lando, though.
I do wish that the film looked more vibrant and colourful like the posters make it out to be. Yet we still have that grit stark contrasting light. I don’t mind a gritty look, but we’ve had it in 3 movies now. It’d be nice to have a change of style. Those poster look awesome. Kind of like a 60s sci-fi/70s western look.
It looks like he participates in some sort of train heist and if the toy photo spoilers are correct, we’ll be seeing Han’s best known employer, (the one he used to smuggle drugs for) as well.
Mind you, Han did do heroic things in the Brain Daley books, but he was still pretty much looking out for himself and Chewie.
Ehrenreich seems to have Han’s mannerisms down. It’s all going to boil down to whether us old fogeys accept him as Han Solo or not. I had no problems accepting the cast of Star Trek 2009, because in the end I saw Kirk Spock and McCoy on the screen even if they were being portrayed by different actors.
In the end Ehrenreich has to be Han, not Harrison. If he can make Han his own, it’s going to be a fun ride.
Or maybe they just don’t want to give away the whole movie? 😉
Not much dialog in this teaser either…

Oh man! I forgot all about Vuffi Raa! He kind of was included with the Falcon when Lando bought it? Been ages since I read the Lando books.
The droid makes me think of Bollux from the Brian Daley novels. I hope someone refers to Chewie as The Wook. : )
Someone will have to explain away Chewie’s bandolier changing after ROTS, and back again before the OT. 😛
“WE DEMAND A SHRUBBERY!”
LOL! Frink needs to do that for the Knights Of Ren someday.
And the no image-only posts rule was put in place so that people don’t share every stupid meme without context.
It’s relevant even if some don’t like it. It’s in the same vein as the argument raised in the pages of Starlog in the 80’s. Why don’t the Empire and Rebels just nuke each other?
DrTroll
Knock it off.
Looks more like Kylo Ren’s shadow now. 😛
Nice catch!
Home Theater Forum? I haven’t been there in a long time though.
Not sure I can handle a new SW film just five months after the last one…oh, who am I kidding? 😛
That’s why it’s called a teaser.
Thanks!
Let the over analysis of every frame begin! 😛
