Lucas has SAID in the past that some of the original Jabba designs were of a furry creature, much like Chewy.

Lucas says a lot of things bkev. Most of them lies. ;-P

This is no Lucas lie. There were storyboard like sketches from the ANH timeframe that show a creature matted over the original actor, this is NOT something Lucas cooked up in the 90s digital era, he said it back during the documentary "From SW to Jedi :Making of a Saga" (1983) and the said sketch was also shown on that special.

Here's something I want to ask you guys, and please put some thought into it before you answer it. If those elements of Vader's shuttle leaving Bespin and docking in the Star Destroyer were in there since the 1980 release of Empire, would so many of you be so gung-ho to remove them? I don't think so.

I don't get it, I never thought of that box like thing as Needa's shuttle because immediately shows him being choked to death after it leaves that Star Destroyer underbelly, nothing to indicate any passage of time between shots. Please explain to me how that's supposed to be his shuttle when it immediately shows him aboard and choking?

I just watched that shot again and I for the life of me don't see that they are walking slower in the SE shot. Even if so, nothing that can't be sped up slightly without looking bad.

Here's what I mean at the link below about cropping out the shuttle, this is low quality obviously, but I could not find a higher res still to use. Ady had great success cropping close shots in ANH revisited without losing resolution, it would be nice if he would do this and keep some of the cloud city imagery while keeping continuity with the returning "Bring my Shuttle" line.

Is there a way to retain Vader's SE distant side view walk to his landing platform for his shuttle? I know the "Bring my shuttle." will be brought back so the Shuttle will have to be removed because it can't already be there, but it would be nice to keep the scenery while removing the shuttle.

I'm afraid that shot has to go, although thats one of the SE additions that i liked, but with the original line back in it just won't fit in.

How about zooming in on that shot just until the shuttle is out of frame? Like you did in some of those ANH shots, and they looked really good!

THis shot below has bothered me for years, I hope it can be blended better, and also later in the shot, when the guy walks by (McQuarrie I believe, not shown in this still), the blue spill is pretty bad on his head/body as he walks past.

I thought the NTSC DVD-9 wasn't going to be out for another several days or a week,
if it is indeed out, can someone please help me out being I don't have a dual layer burner. I sure would appreciate it if someone could burn me a copy, just send me a PM and let me know. Thanks so much.

ok, this is all getting out of hand. i said on the 15th april that i had made a total cockup of the menus and had left out the isolated score so i had to rebuild all the menus. That means starting most of them from scratch and as you know they are not plain menus and there is a lot of work involved.. i'm also putting all my time into doing both that and the painting for the cover so i don't have enough time to keep replying to every post at the moment or to visit as often as i once did. All these things need to be finished before i can release the DVD-9's. releasing a "purist" edition or the soundtrack hasn't caused this release to be delayed. How the hell can i give an exact or even estimated date when i don't know myself how long it will take? its not as if you can't already watch "Revisited" as the DVD-5's are out there. Please be patient. it will be out before the 31st anniversary. :)

That is exactly the type of answer I wanted. But for asking anything of the sort I get flamed with cursing from Vbangle. Thanks for answering the question with grace and non-anger unlike a certain someone.

I'm not coming after anyone in particular here, nor am I flaming any one post, but please just give Adywan the time to finish the DVD-9. He will certainly announce its availability here and we'll all be able to acquire it soon enough. I can't speak for him, but from the sound of it, the authoring is close to finished and he is also finishing his cover, which seems to be the main factor here. Once everything's done, it's done and there will be rejoicing around the land. :)

In the meantime, there are DVD-5s of the PAL version, the NTSC version, the NTSC Purist version, an Xvid version, and a couple of earlier PAL and NTSC versions that weren't not quite up to snuff. ;) These are all readily available via alt.binaries.starwars, fanedit.org, and various torrent sites (except for the Purist version for some reason). I even saw a 700 mb Xvid on Demonoid the other day.

Any of these releases are great to enjoy the film as is, but the DVD-9 will certainly have some other special features and a higher bit rate, lending to an improved picture. That being said, I can't imagine the video being much better than the existing single-layer releases. I don't have many DVDs that look much better than what Ady has already put out there.

This has been a project over two years in the making and has been plagued by delays and setbacks. Trying to lock down a specific release will only lead disappointment if the dual-layer release is delayed from that date as well. I'm looking forward to this as much as the next person, but what's out there now is great for the time being.

Now that I've said all this, I fully expect Ady to start uploading the PAL DVD-9 in the next 30 minutes! :)

I'm NOT asking for Ady to set an exact date, or even week for the DVD-9 release, but it would be cool to know if we are looking at a month, or 3 months or more. Something in the ballpark.
So I guess you're never going to stop being annoying, even though Adywan has continued to ignore you...You made the same nagging requests for the DVD-5....Here's a hint. Stop already.

And stop your flaming. I don't know why this is such a hard question to answer, he keeps belting out a "purist edition", as "soundtrack edition" which are very cool and weren't even hinted at until mere days before they came out. All I am asking for is a ballpark date, tell me what is wrong with that? I donated to this project as well. I am not making a demand, merely asking a question. If it going to be more than a month, he can just say so. It's not that hard to answer.

Well i have decided to take a break from the DVD-9's at the moment. Getting a bit burn out doing the special features and painting the cover is taking a lot longer than i first thought. I just didn't like my first design so i have started from scratch.

Anyway i have decided to do a NTSC DVD-5 only "Purist" edition of Revisited. There will be a few differences to the original version:

Obi-Wan's hut scene is returned to the original edit
No Darth Vader's theme in the movie
No music during the conference scene
No music during the lightsaber duel, original music cue restored.
No extended Tie fighter Approach during the Death Star battle, the pacing will be returned to its original state.

There will be no menus or subtitles on the DVD or any extras.

Since you are doing this, any chance in you will paint out the squib seen before it explodes on the back of the door before Leia & Luke swing across the chasm?
