So am I correct in saying there were no more video changes since DVD-5? Or did you put the blast mark when Luke first blasted the controls that close the door/extend the bridge. Or erase the blast mark that was already there when the Stormtroopers fired on the back of that same door as Luke and Leia closed it.

No i haven't done anything to those shots. if you notice that the panel is a completely different one where you see the blast mark anyway because the light holes have disappeared and the mark on the door is a putty mark that contains the squib. I don't want to do any more things to the video. I just want the DVD-9's finished and i can then finally put this thing behind me. I did change one thing though. In the scene with 3po in the control room, originally i added an extra gun to match the shot where the troopers blast in. I decided to give this another go and i managed to remove the gun from the later scene better than i attempted to do originally. but that is the final ever change (oh apart from a small tweak to the 3po saturation change that was recently mentioned in the desert that i finally managed to fix). This edit is done.

I have been toying with having an alternate mix that wouldn't have the battle of the heroes music, the music during the conference scene, Beru's monomix voice & a couple of other things changed for those who hated the additions. But this is still only an idea and possibly won't happen and it would only be stereo too.

EDIT: after checking out the duel without music it isn't going to happen. it's just doesn't have the same impact without the music.

Oh and Sevb32, please change your avatrar. I don't appreciate that you have stolen mine. The new forum software has taken away the need for any duplicate avatars now.

Cool enough if you don't wanna change anything else, it's your edit obviously, but I just know how easy it would be to paint out a seen squib on the door before it explodes, I know getting the control box that extends the bridge burn mark would be harder.

Another thing, and it could just be me, but anyone else think that side view of the SE landspeeder after it just entered Mos Eisley (when it passes that rebel transport looking ship) C3PO looks a bit too yellowish compared to the other shots? I thought it might look better to mute his color a bit in that particular shot, I know it's a CG speeder and all. Not your fault though, this was from the SE.

I am not complaining, so folks please don't give me heat.

Well. just along as you get rid of that one obvious (there may be others) squib on the trooper Leia shoots in cloud city for when you get around to the ESB Revisited. I was not complaining, just asking a question. I just hope someone can help me with getting the DVD-9 because I don't have a dual layer burner. I hope something can be arranged.

Sometimes, I wish we could fix some of these adults only SW egos, pertaining the the Ewoks, the whole point of that race is that is a race you'd never expect able to rise up and hold their own with the Empire, and the fact that some people think the Ewoks are cute should not make the Ewoks be deleted from SW. I was 8 when first ROTJ came out I didn't have problems with them in the the film and while growing up and I didn't know I was "supposed to hate the Ewoks" until I saw an article in Scifi Universe magazine when I was in my early 20s. If anything, maybe Ady can add more Ewoks! I don't care if you have helmet on, if you get hit in the head by a five or ten pound rock you are likely going down.

I think some SW fans get adults only-egotistical in their teenage or adult years, they want things to be more adult which means darkness and everything all danky. Stuff they never would have wanted as a young kid watching SW for the first time. Maybe it makes them feel more grown-up that way. I just can't understand why they can't tolerate the cute with the ugly and scary, there is room for a diverse groups of aliens, cute, ugly, scary, etc. Star Wars has them all. I want it to stay that way.

well for one thing, reptiles require a lot of sunshine. dagobah doesn't really seem like sunny a place.

and the other is it kinda took me back to earth when i saw it this time. maybe that's just me though.

Maybe in our world things work that way, but in the SW Universe maybe reptiles don't require lots of sunshine. Just as many other things are different from ours.

Someone complained about Han's shirt being different after being unfrozen, I have studied clips and stills over and over again and I cannot see a difference, neck area and all. This is a false goof that has went on for years, show me the real evidence.

Man, seems like everytime you think you've corrected everything more things are noticed! I notice when Luke blasts the controls to the bridge and door before the swing across the chasm with Leia, there are no black blast scorch marks there but they appear a few seconds later for the rest of the shots in the scene, and in that same scene when the stormtroopers shoot at the door right as Luke and Leia lower it, a blast shot scorch is there before the stormtroopers hit the same spot. Damn, too late anyway. It's one of those things where u polish everything up so nice and a few minor things stick out all the more.

They took his wrist binders off before he was lowered. Why would we need everything spelled out with Han putting his hands up like that? He did that when he was further down in the chamber, so why is it necessary to see it? And I have always loved that Vader's helmet blows slightly in the wind, it shows just how windy it was there and kind of reminds us that he is just a man in a mask and the man he once was is still in there.

Fix Han's shirt before getting frozen.....

It was already fixed with the 2004 DVD if you are talking about his shoulders appearing dark which made it look like he was wearing a jacket.

I was wondering if Ady thinks this edit will be done quicker than the ANH one was. Because he was probably still learning a lot (trial and error) when he was working with the effects software and etc. I was thinking maybe he could have this done within a year from now. I know the first time you do something it usually takes a lot longer than the second time you do it. I know he is burn out a bit, but maybe after a month or so of relaxation he'd be ready to go.
He certainly go some grateful people here. Me being one of them!

Ah, I've thought of something in ESB that has bothered me ever since I saw it.

As you know, in order to facilitate Frank Oz's performance of Yoda, the Dagobah sets for Empire were basically built on stilts, so Oz could sit underneath and stick his hand up Yoda's hole. This is made obvious in one scene (I can't remember exactly where, and my DVDs are 200 miles away so I can't check) where Mark Hamill steps in between the studs holding up the plywood making the ground, and it visibly bends under his weight. It distracts me every single time I watch the film, and I would really appreciate it if you could take care of that, Adywan. Thanks.

Speaking of Yoda and performances, I think Frank Oz's job with Yoda is just about perfect and doesn't require very much CG touchup. Unlike the bar patrons of Tatooine, Yoda has always been completely convincing as he is.

I believe that was right after the "I can't...it's too big. You want the impossible" X-Wing out of the Swamp lift attempt.

I know nothing about these formats and terminology, all I know is that I downloaded an Xvid torrent of the first version over a month ago and burned it to DVD (I watch it on my TV, not so much with the PC) with good results using DVD FLICK. My main question is this, when I download a torrent of this newer version, with the menus and extras and all, will it be just as easy to burn to DVD-5 with DVD FLICK as the last one was? Will the software put everything in the right places or do I have to do something special?
