STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW

IT would make it more powerful if we saw the characters mourning his death a bit or mentioning it, but there will be none of that. They will be all celebrating. The main difference is we will see the falcon blow up with the death star.

He did he do a purist version of ANH which nothing majorly changed except some dialogue moved and music changed, and bit of space battle. Were talking a death here. It's no small change.

But I guess I have to regress to the same ol' said many times over "it's his edit" stuff. No offense intended. I just want the story left alone. But yet I want the effects corrections too.

ROTJ definitely needs a complete restructuring. There is a good movie in that mediocre jumble somewhere, but it can't be brought out by new effects and continuity polishes - it *needs* major story changes, in some ways more so than the prequels.

While I'm pretty sure Ady said there will be *no* purist version for Empire, I think it's a real possibility for Jedi.

And yeah, ESB:R will definitely not be done by Christmas. I'd say spring/summer 2010. May 21, 2010 would be really cool - 30 years to the day after its theatrical release.

From what I've seen there is no need for a purist version of Empire:R since there are no major story changes. ROTJ on the other hand if he's gonna ax Lando I beg and plead for a purist version.

I am against the ROTJ Lando dies big story changes. I know it's your version of course, I would definitely wanna watch and see what you have in mind, but I would hope big time there would be a purist version too. New effects and polishes are fine, but major story changes it's hard for me to live with. If it wouldn't be too much trouble to have both versions that would be great! I would beg and plead for a purist version.

So my hope of ESB:R being done by Christmas 2009 are dashed?

Speaking of the END of EMPIRE, this shot always bugged me. The Falcon leaves and zips off... to where again? The galaxy is THAT way (pointing down, as they fly upwards).

Is there any way Ady could ... show the Falcon heading TOWARDS the galaxy and not into random space?

Astronomically speaking, what you're seeing in these shots is ANOTHER galaxy beyond the edge of the galaxy in which Luke and company are situated. It's like looking up and seeing the Andromeda galaxy in our own night sky -- it's not WITHIN our own Milky Way galaxy, we can just see it beyond our own cluster of stars. As such, the Falcon is not heading into nothingness; the other galaxy is not their destination.

Now, whether or not such a galaxy would look that close is another matter (something that your mockups exaggerate Vaderios). I guess considering people can hop around all over the galaxy in the Star Wars universe, it's possible that wherever the Rebel fleet is at the end of ESB just happens to be very close to said galaxy.

BTW, I personally like the idea that it could be the Rishi Maze mentioned in AOTC.

I hope Ady's looks like the right one, look at the better color on 3PO, and overall better color, but shoudn't R2 be a bit more blue on the appropriate parts?

Ah, I KNEW we could keep this alive and find more stuff! Thx V!

Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose, so let me simply add that it's my very good honor to meet you and you may call me V.

ok:

when the speeder comes in the primary light source is coming from the door exit. When it comes inside the light comes from another source( see human's one) So the shadow should make the "travel" from the two sources...

Also

If these shots are taken from the same spot (same wall-orangeline-) they look different. Im not talking about the different elements that are in other position( see the tubes on top) but some basic stuff. the lights lines for example in the floor seems to change positions althow some of them are missing to serve a purpose(!)

Good show! I always figured they came from behind too (still trying to believe that, makes empire seem more evil...)

-Angel

I think those two shots in the middle were shot at slightly different angles and distances. But so what if the rebels moved the row of lights a bit the next day? I'm sure they had their reasons!

Have you seen this amazing link regarding ROTJ in this Gary Kurtz interview?

http://io9.com/5196334/this-may-be-the-star-wars-movie-youre-looking-for

Full interview at:

http://www.filmthreat.com/index.php?section=interviews&Id=8

At one point, he says "One of the websites I just pulled down yesterday was one that actually some guy went through and listed all of the written materials that's ever been written on Star Wars, all of the novels and put them in to a kind of time ark. Where they're placed on the stream around the movie. It's really interesting actually. Most of them are after the first three films. Some are way back, 30,000 years before."

Is that still around? If so, I'd love to see it. Anyone know where it is, and if it has been updated as new novels are released?

There were different ways the stories could have went for all of the films, even ESB. All of them had mutiple ideas.

I was thinking that Yoda should not be in the PT - he might be referred to by other characters but you never see or hear him talking. On the subject of Anakin's fall to the Sith, in a similar way - in episode 3 leave anakin's fate more of a mystery (a cliffhanger). So that the audience is left unsure exatly what has happened to anakin possibly that all the Jedi are wiped out including Obi Wan (hence uncle owen's comment at the dinner table in ep4). Padme is pregnant and alive at the end of the movie - but no talk of twins, its not necessary that she dies at the end of the movie or that you see her giving birth, as Leia's line in ROTJ resolves that part - when luke questions her about her mother. References to Bail having a wife in ep3 can be edited out - thereby the mystery of Padme also remains a mystery - did she die at the end of episode 3 or did Bail end up marrying her sometime after the events of episode 3. As episode 4 begins - her fate is irelevent to the story of Luke Skywalker.

If necessary footage of Anakin's fall to the dark side, Padme's birth of the twins and her death and palpatines "order 66" could be incorporated as a flashback/big reveal sequence in return of the Jedi after Luke questions the ghost of Obi Wan about the "Truth".

Great points all. Ideally for me, there would be no Yoda, no Jabba, no "Jedi University", and no reveal of Anakin's fate until possibly at the end of Ep III. In my ideal versions, Anakin is in his early twenties in Ep.I, has his epic battle with Obi-Wan in EP.II and is presumed dead, then Ep.III features this badass new villain named Vader who is plotting against the Republic and the Jedi. Only late into the episode is it revealed that he IS Anakin, but it is too late as the Republic's fate is sealed.

To tie this in with ESB :) , I would also have Boba Fett (no Jango) featured in one of the episodes where he comes in, kicks ass, wins, and leaves. Just like ESB. SO when watching in order, the audience will see him again in ESB and know there's a real threat for our heroes from witnessing his actions in the prequels.

Ah, to dream....

Oh, and nay I say to flashbacks or dream sequences. They weren't in 5 of the 6 films and don't need to be in ANY of them.

Look everyone wanted their own imaginations to be the prequels. I guess that's what happens when you make parts 4-6 first and give people almost 20 years to think about it before you release part 1. There are thousands or even millions of "My way"s.

Was watching ESB:GOUT tonight and made a new observation.

If you look outside the base doors as they’re being closed, it’s very dark outside (you can see twilight on the horizon), but in the next scene (Luke’s vision and Han finding him) it’s still daylight. The distance between the two locations would not be sufficient to explain the difference in light levels; it’d have to be at least a few hundred miles on an Earth-sized planet. If we take the idea that only equatorial Hoth is habitable (borne out in the EU but also by a simple consideration of the basic physics involved), that minimum stretches to 1000 miles. Darkening the second scene would help continuity and also (in my opinion) add tension. Should be quite simple to achieve compared to the rest of what Adywan’s doing for this film. Your thoughts, Ady?

Also when Luke collapses before seeing Kenobi's spirit, I hate how the amount of snow on Luke changes from shot to shot. From a lot to a little and back.

You can't replace a whole skyline reaching miles with a model!

I'm on about the interior of the temple with mace, Obi-Wan and yoda. the exteriors look fine but the interiors sometimes look terrible. you really don't like anything done to the PT do you. lol

Just make sure what you're replacing is really CG and not a model, you might be surprised what was a model and what wasn't. More physical models were built for each prequel than the entire OT combined. Check out the "Sculpting a Galaxy" book.

i have the "sculpting a galaxy" book and its actually pretty easy to spot when a miniature was used and when a CG background was used without even looking in that book. the jedi temple scene being one of them

a lot of the problems with the PT looking like a video game is the colouring, which i will be sorting out

Yeah but I am talking about the scenes where I have seen people complaining about it being CG when I know it was a model. Like Kenobi walking to the Youngling training room, etc.
