I knew Ady wouldn't go for it, but I still love it. The falcon is still a hunk of junk in every other respect, adding one hologram seeing what Han and Leia are looking at does not make any less a hunk of junk. I beg.......and really beg Ady to reconsider. I know he probably won't but begging never hurts. As for the "just because we can." argument, I could seriously make that argument about some of the other changes that were done for some of ANH:R and some of the known changes for ESB:R. Some were stylistic and not absolutely necessary either, but I still loved them.

If just the words were all in Aurebesh, and they were not backwards (mirrored) to Han and Leia.

Ady, do you have the Creating the Worlds of Star Wars 365 days book? On page 66 and 67 it shows the break down of the models used in the asteroids scene. The ones you need to build for the Falcon narrow canyon fly-through that destroys the TIEs.

If someone could get a good quality still or photo of the falcon's dashboard we'd be in business, but all I've seen is fuzzy/blurry lower res stuff.

Where was this in ANH:R?

Hey people could have easily said that about some of the stuff that was fixed for SW:R.  A  lot of most people never noticed anyway. I am not complaining about that either, since I am glad it was it done.

And when the star destroyer approach hoth there is a mysterious mask/light in the ship that looks weird. A pic will not show the problem only motion can popup it.

As you can see two of the things you mention have already been fixed since the clip was posted. I'm not too bothered about the stardestroyer lasers having a weaker core because it helps distinguish them from the TIE ones.

And i have just gone back and checked the shot with the repeating starfield and again that has gone.

Might wanna look again. I see them. NO offense intended. I hate sounding like a whining nitpicker. But truth told they aren't that noticable unless circled in a still, and This shot is only onscreen a very short time. If you don't wanna bother with them it's not a big a deal as I once thought.

Anyone scoured any model making sites or forums? Maybe they could help with Ady's workload, maybe they even have some already made that would work!

Ady, are you gonna use chicken wire and stucco covered with foam and carved to look like rock for the Falcon flying between the canyon walls model?

Ady has been know to change his mind....from time to time. God Bless him for it too. Most people wouldn't notice a lot of subtle things that were corrected in ANH:R either. Not that I am diminishing it, I am just stating subtle things could have stayed the same and most would not care or notice.

I don't think I am taking it any further than any of the other small goof and errors that were corrected for the other film. Not all of them HAD to be done either as most laypeople wouldn't notice many of them. (I am glad they were done!) I am simply saying please don't repeat star patterns in the same shot/frame. Pretty please with your favorite food on top. :)

starfields is one thing that has never bothered me. the last thing you should be looking at in a space sequence is the stars. i never wanted to use generated starfields and instead wanted to use original starfields from the stare was movies . you will get repeated starfields because there is only so much area i can grab and combine to use to create a very hi res starfield that can be used for panning shots and fast movement. Well now that you have your new HD camera, have you thought about going for real authenticity by recreating the stars just like they did for the films? I can't remember where I read/heard it but I remember one of the crew mentioning that all they did was punch holes into this black material (can't remember what it was specifically) with a pin and then backlit it. It would add a lot more authenticity to the stars as it would add a real twinkle to them when they're in motion. Think it would be worth a test to see how it looks? Imagine if it comes off real well and you could one-up the prequel effects crew with their digital starfields.

More work that would just delay the release even more, he already has more than full plate with the model stuff he's doing. Like I said I don't mind repeated star patterns, but not on the right and left of the same frame. (The still frame on the bottom right.)

But which of you should Lucas listen to? So many fans have different ideas. You don't make movies on polls.

Why? There's enough evidence Yoda gave Obi-Wan instruction in the prequels. The first line out of Kenobi's mouth in EPI is that "But Master Yoda said I should be mindful of the future." Yoda is shown training younglings in AOTC, in ROTS Yoda says  "Master Kenobi, wait a moment.
In your solitude on Tatooine, training I have for you."  Kenobi also mentions to Yoda in ESB "Was I any different when you taught me?"

I can handle star backgrounds used more than once, but in the shot with the falcon dodging the Star Destroyers, the same exact star patterns are repeated in the same shot on the left and the right, that drives me nuts and I will always notice it. just the bottom right one needs changed.

Oh man I wish Ady would have one SELECT image every week from his edit kind of like Lucas did leading up to the release of AOTC and ROTS.

I am not against him doing away with Lando if he wants, it is his edit. What I really would love if he would throw us a bone and simply a version where Lando lives, like the canon story goes. Even ANH:R got a purist version and it didn't even have any major story changes as this will. I don't see how it would take that much work to make a version with Lando living in. I'm all for effects improvements and error corrections.

Sure people can talk about what they want, just this thread is about ESB:R.  I know I'm guilty of too, I will do better!
