Did Lucas Get Plastic Surgery?
Time
Well, he was really thin in some parts of the bonus disc, and actually looked pretty good! The part where he comes out of a room with the finished script and saying, "and they fight is in it a lot," for example.

It was just a little strange seeing him heavy/thin/heavy/thin through out the bonus disc. And I think he was thin while filming, but gained thw weight back after it was finished.

LOL I don't know why I brough it up, actually.

... to remove his jowl?

Maybe it was just his weight. It was strange, his weight was going up and down on every other section of the bonus DVD, or he's gotten plastic surgery. His jowl didn't look as bad in some parts.

Also, I liked the scene were Yoda lands on Dagoba. I'd kind of like to to add that back in. I tried DVDShrink with the start/end frame, but it puts a slight pause in it that's pretty obvious. Maybe someone can suggest an easy to use program to edit it back in ... a free one. I was hoping to get the scene where QuiGon Gin speaks to Yoda, maybe it was never shot and was just in an early draft?

You may not like the prequels, but you've got to admire the amount of work that went into these films. All the different parts that had to come together to make the film ... sheesh! CGi, stunts, choreographer of Jedi duels, designs of all types, etc. etc.

FURIOUS With Fox (Or) Why Does Canada Have To Suck?
Time
Yes, you can, but it's still pending. I forgot it's now a private site (it will probably go public again once he gets a faster line).

However, I can e-mail it to you if your e-mail account can hold at least 5 megs (the size of the cover). You might have to play around with the colors to get them to match exactlly with the originals, also depends on your printer.

Just let me know if you want it.

*EDIT*
I can send it to 20th Century Mark tonight. I'm still a 56ker, so it'd help me out if it was sent out by him to anyone who needs it.

I think the O-OT WAS restored

If you read the making of book, there is this constant theme of not wasting digital shots, not falling behind timetables so extra workers don't have to be hired, just an overall theme that LFL (with the opening of new facilities on the horizon) was getting strapped for cash and certainly couldn't a)lose control of the film to financers and b)couldn't push back the release date.

That's what I was thinking, they probably rushed it because they needed funding for ROTS or other projects.

If George had only changed Special effects for the SE and DVD, would people have complained as much?

Same with E.T. Spielberg released the CGI version of E.T. into theatres, I couldn't even tell they had changed anything till I bought the DVD. He didn't make outlandish changes either, their goal was to keep it as close as possible to the original. Also, when E.T. was release to DVD, Spielberg had enough sense to realize the original was a classic and some people would prefer it. The DVD release has both versions.

To me, Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy proved that not everything needs to be CGI. I really loved the look of those ugly looking fellas with the snouts. Jim Henson's crew still has it.

Ever Wonder What You Would Get If You Crossed a Human with a Wookie?
Time
He was billed at 7 ft 4 in (2.24 m) and 520 pounds (236 kgs) but he was closer to 6 ft 11 in at the tallest serious estimate and he was under 400 pounds when he started but did not train seriously and gained signifigant weight as he got older. Nonetheless, the sight of him alone was enough to draw huge crowds in a day when there were only a handful of people over 6 ft 6 in.

Andre, as in Andre the Giant.

Doesn't this sound like a wookie:

It is said that he never tested the full extent of his true strength because he was afraid of the damage it might cause. Some of André's opponents were legitimately afraid to get in the ring with him for fear of getting accidentally injured, but those who got to know him soon learned that his personality was perhaps one of the gentlest in the world. It is also said that André could drink an entire case of beer and not feel so much as a buzz.

Yup, there has to be some Wookie in there some where!

George Lucas Caught Up in Union Battle
Time
Ben Burtt could of been frustrated with more things than just his particular job. He could of been frusstrated with the way the company was ran, or a number of things for that matter.

I don't know if it's a rumor, but I've heard from several people that Lucas pays $hit wages. So many people want to work for the guy, there are a lot of talented people out there waiting to get their foot in the door, and if you don't like the wages you can take a walk because someone out there is just as good, if not better at what you do. Most people are willing to work for crappy wages just because it's Lucas/Lucasfilm, and George knows this, plus just having "I worked for Lucas" on your resamay is saying a lot.

Mind you, I'm not claiming it's fact or I know anyone who works for Lucas.

Will be taking custom cover requests when I am done with my grounding.
Time
I was sent photoshop ($500 software) from the owner of dvdcoverart.org, but he mostly did it out of kindness because I sent him quite a few DVD covers to get the site going.

Also, someone else posted hi-res poster art in the "preservation" area, maybe you can find the thread.

But yeah, dvdcoverart.org has a lot of Star Wars covers (also in the link section). You can find my customs there, I was going for a "classic look":

Star Wars
Empire
Return of the Jedi
