The DVD's........Man!!!
Time
Quote

The changes are only couple minutes per film, not much at all for the enjoyment of what you are watching.

Sorry, but I just can't do it, as the "story/dialogue changes" are horrible, and totally change the pace and characterization of the originals.

To say they are "only couple minutes per film", is the same as painting a moustache on the Mona Lisa and then saying "it only takes up 1% of the total picture". It's not the duration or size, but the EFFECT the changes have.

Info: OT Bootleg DVDs

Actually, what you need to do is make 100% sure you have the video and audio done in a format that accomodates the capacity a dual-sided DVD. That ensures you have the highest quality possible, and sets you up for the future.

And from that base, there are many programs (like CloneDVD) that takes EXISTING dual-sided data and then filter it down for single-sided DVD duplication. If you want to produce a single-sided DVD, then filter down from the original, and distribute that, and this still leaves the option of a serious dual-sided version from the raw data.

Another key element is that these filter-down versions are of excellent quality when using dual-sided digital data, most times superior to down-sampled, imported video.

If you guys start acting respectful? Maybe. The market is there, and Lucas is all about the Benjermins.

Yeah, I'm sure if Lucas came on here, and saw me being nice, he'd have an epiphany and suddenly reverse his comments that the Original Trilogy DOES NOT EXIST and they will NEVER be released.

Yeah sure.... I'm assuming this is some weak ploy, as if you really believe this BS, then you're too naive to live.

But how in the love of god can you possibly think changes like the new wampa, cloud city, new dewbacks, new sarlacc, better ship takeoffs, and livly cities don't improve the scene. These changes vastly improved the movie. Argueing otherwise makes absolutly no sense.

You really don't have a clue, do you?

Yes, and Darth Vader was not Anakin Skywalker as of ANH, and George Lucas basically wrote the stories on-the-go, with no overall plan or trilogy.

It's quite obvious to see, and documented in various interviews and articles, but this kin dof stuff is dangerous for Lucas Fanboys who desperately need to believe in an overall set of trilogies, conceived in 1977... otherwise, they've just wasted their lives following a pathological liar.

You're the moron who can't grasp basic concepts like, oh, I don't know, not pissing off the one guy who can give you want youn want.

Oh, and you're the genius who actually thinks George "The Senile Madman" Lucas is going to actually release the Original Trilogy in their Theatrical Versions?

Go on record Peeler, and say YES or NO.

Is Lucas going to release them uncut, uncensored and unedited?

No fanboy BS, just a YES or NO?

You've got to remember that Peeler is an idiot, with the command of the English language of a 2-year old.

His definition of the term Fanboy means "someone who disagrees with me and George!"

What a tool.

The intelligence of SW Fan boys....
Time
Here's some actual good questions on SW.com, that were either ignored, or glossed over:

1) If Boba now talks with an Aussie accent, why don't any of the Storm Troopers, some of which at least, are his clones?

2) Why does the Emperor in ESB look much older and talk slower than he does in ROTJ?

3) But look at it from Luke's point of view. He's thinking, oh look there's Obi Wan on the right, and there's Yoda in the middle and, hang on, who the hell is that bloke on the left?

Don't get me wrong, a few of the more insane Lucas Fanboys gave it a shot, and some of their explanations for the "Hayden Ghost" defy all known forms of logic. Some of these people really need to move out of their parent's basement.

I Just Wanted to Thank....

Well, now that I have the Original Trilogy on DVD-R, my anger against that moron Lucas has subsided, and I guess I'll get back to real life. I have no illusions that Georgie will ever release the OT to compete against the reprehensible 2004 edition, but I am very thankful for the movie fans who've kept the OT version alive and allowed people like me to travel back to "a galaxy far, far away...."

Peace!

Hell, you're accusing me of living in a fantasy world, simply because I don't agree with your personal take on the situation. Are you this lacking in fundemental social graces?

Hey, if you actually believe that being "warm and cuddly" towards Lucas will get us the Original Trilogy on DVD, then I gotta call 'em like I see 'em.

And yes, if someone "in the real world" stated something as insane (like the Earth is flat), I'd call them a moron to their face. I have no problem with this, and am quite successful being blunt to pure stupidity.

You do have a good point, that while Lucas is an obvious madman, that his fanboy acolytes should be treated a bit better. After all, they know not what they do.

I've said it before: There are few things on this earth as annoying as an angry fanboy.

Whoa! Are you actually trying to call me a fanboy? If so, then you have a pretty loose grasp on the English language and I'd recommend getting your High School diploma before posting anymore gibberish.

Fanboy: Someone who gives up all free thought to worship at the altar of a pop culture phenomenon. If it exists, regardless of quality or merit, then it is automatically good, and must be defended vigorously against the heretics.

To call me a fanboy is to label yourself a simpering idiot. Education matters there Jake!!

So am I, and those Lucas Fanboys are quite the inbred lot, aren't they? Buncha dateless, lifeless losers whose only role on Earth is to spread the Lucas Religion or die trying.

I wish they'd all stay on StarWars.com and leave the normal movie fans alone.

Lucas listens to us...and ruins things further (Boba Fett)
Time
Boba Fett was popular because a character with an unknown past is infinitely more compelling than after we know his backstory. This also works for Darth Vader, Obi-Wan, Yoda and others, each of which are far more interesting in Star Wars, than in the crappy prequels.

That's because, no matter how good the backstory is (and it's pretty bad in the Prequels) it can never match up to each person's imagination. In cases like this, it's better to never open that door.

Hey Rebel Rouser, Lucas has stated that he will NEVER release the Original Trilogy on DVD, and due to his insane meglomania and love for the new SE and SSEe 2004 editions, do you really think he'd risk being wrong by allowing the OT DVDs to compete against his beloved Frankenstein versions?

You seem to be under the naive impression that if we all act nice and cozy with Georgie Porgy, that he'll suddenly change his mind, delete all the SE and SSE crap, and happily release the OT versions. Sorry, but that ain't gonna happen until Lucas dies (if then) as he wants the SSE 2004 version to remain the definitive one, at least until he decides to change it again.

But one thing is sure, Lucas will never release the OT. He has stated this, and it is the only logical course of action for a madman intent on combining the two trilogies. If you believe otherwise, then have fun in your fantasy land.

Me, I live in the real world, where Lucas is an insane despot and where the OT is something you burn to DVD-R.

Sounds like they had a real good plan working there.

Yeah, the advent of the horrible prequels and the fact that Lucas just dove in headfirst, writing the new movies on the fly, has brought up a ton of gaping plotholes and inconsistencies that are just too much for a rational human being to accept. You can't connect the two trilogies, unless you want to go as insane as Lucas.

But what these ludicrous Prequels do allow, is for no-lifer, Lucas fanboys to spend their entire existence thinking up increasingly-bizarre explanations for why the Prequels make sense. The Prequels are absolute horse-shit, and any rational person understands this, but the Lucas fanboy takes it upon himself to serve his master, and dedicates his life to the preservation of the Prequel ideals.

It is really sad to watch such a waste of energy, and I don't think even the brain-addled Matrix Trilogy Fanboys are this far gone.

I'd like to ask the fanboys one simple question regarding their arguments against releasing the OT on DVD:

What are you afraid of?

We all know what Lucas is afraid of, that the OT would easily outsell the crappy SSE 2004 edition, and he'd have to weather the ridicule and embarassment of the general public slamming not only his crappy prequels, but his terrible updates of the classic OT. That's why Lucas would never release the OT, because he wants the terrible SSE 2004 edition to win by default.

But what do the fanboys have to fear? Why are they so against the OT?
