STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW
Time

I’m glad there’s a sane moderator in all this, thank you. I mean that, I’m not being snarky.

The thing is I very rarely actually defend the PT, or the SE. On the contrary I regularly agree with a lot of the negativity surrounding them to some extent, but the fact that you cannot say anything positive about them without having five people reign down on you about how “wrong” you are and refusing any sort of actual debate just gets tiring and frustrating after a while.

I know I’ve been unreasonable and probably should have thought longer before posting some of my remarks (which is usually why I end up editing them).
I wouldn’t care about Frinks remarks if it wasn’t so hypocritical.
You cannot sit there insulting people and then cry when someone insults you. It’s immature and while yeah, insulting someone is never good regardless, how can you expect to be taken seriously when it’s “one rule for me, another for you”?

I’m not here to have arguments and yell at people, I’m here to discuss things, usually changes in different versions adn my opinions on them. However I can’t count the number of times myself and other people have been shot down and ridiculed just for discussing things; entire threads derailed because some of the “older” members act like a gang of cronies who have to crap all over everyone who mentions something they may not like.
It’s as if everything anyone says around here anymore is just another excuse to complain.
It’s gotten tiring and I’m not the only one who’s sick of it.

…well, I hope you’re happy guys - your short fuses and outright hatefulness has ruined everything. Maybe that other guy was right, YOU ruined it all for us. Well, thanks for nothing I say!

I’m not 100% sure if this is directed at me or not, but if it is, that’s ridiculous.

Is it? Why?
There have been an influx of new members, yes, a lot of which (IKnowWhatYouDid… comes to mind) came here purely to be trolls.
However, I’ve lurked here since 2010 and in 2014 decided to finally create an account and actually engage in discussions. In all that time I’ve watched long standing members get away with breaking rules and being unofficial moderators just because they “aren’t new.”
As if being new immediately makes them unworthy of your presence: this place is not appealing to new people, and for a reason. Maybe stop deflecting the blame and own up to the fact that this site is slowly turning into an elitist hive-mind.

I made an error and broke a rule and owned up to it, but almost every other link I click on I see you bashing someone or making fun of them for not sharing your opinion on art. You don’t even bother discussing it with them, you just jump straight to making fun of them. Who does that?
Why is that fine, but all these “newbies” are scum for doing it?

The fact that you immediately jump to the conclusion of it being about you “ridiculous” says it all.

I don’t mind if you like Finn, you’re entitled to your opinion.
I’d rebuttal you but neither of us will convince the other anyway so whatever 😛

Probably but I think we can both agree that there is room for the character to grow 😉

Oh definitely, it’s actually one of the reasons I’m looking forward to Episode 8 the most; I’d like to see Poe and Finn grow into something more substantial.
Poe especially, I quite enjoyed what little we got of him.

I’m definitely looking forward to seeing how Finn is going to deal with his injuries and falling into being with a new organization after a lifetime of servitude to the First Order. And I’m definitely looking forward to Poe becoming a full fledged character and I want to see that bond he and Finn share grow.

I share that sentiment exactly.

Well Ive always been a sensitive person so whenever I post here I try to sound subjective and reasonable. If not that I may post something ammusing in response to someone elses comment, usually TV’s Frink or someone. But thats more knock on wood than trying to offend people. I personally dont agree with using vulgar language in public threads. PM is fine but people this site is for a purpose and derailing it with negativity isnt where it should go. Everyones entitled to their opinions but should respect others as well. I know Im sounding like some strong voice of reason but its just how I feel.

A lot of the time especially in this case I try to ignore much of the conversation since the word play is too far in and Im not about to throw myself in the mix (although with this post perhaps I am). Not to mention negativity can lead to the topic being ignored completely in the future which isnt fair. Each discussion here is started in hopes that people will provide their honest and respecful opinions and just build a decent discussion from there. Once it gets to this stage now its like ‘well that went donwhill fast didn’t it??’.

Well we got back on track of the original topic before this was all brought up again, which is why I’m trying to avoid the discussion now, at least on this post.

it is offensive because it devalues mentally handicapped people.

Does it, though?
My best friend of about 10 years has asperges as well as a couple of other issues and regularly tells other people not to worry about offending him and pokes fun at himself too.
Obviously this isn’t the case for everyone in his position but he personally feels that having people tred on egg shells around him only makes him feel more “abnormal” (I don’t really want to use that word in regards to his mental illness, but it’s the way he phrased it).
Things like that can be and are a coping mechanism for some people. It might not make sense to you, but that’s just how it is sometimes.

My point is different people are going to find different things offensive.
One of the reasons I initially used the word freely is because everyone I’ve encountered in my personal life has not minded, or openly encouraged it, so I don’t think twice.

If I was aware of Frink’s issue I definitely would not have used it because I don’t want to intentionally push people’s hot buttons, no matter how much I may not like them. But nobody can be expected to just know what they “can and can’t say” around someone, that’s too much.

I know I said I wouldn’t add anything more to the discussion but I felt that was relevant; the world isn’t black and white.

Now I’m actually not going to keep adding because this has gone on way too long 😛

Saying that is like saying Obama and Birdman act and talk the same which is unacceptable.

I don’t see how that analogy remotely relates.

Does Obama or Finn act or speak anything like this man?

Sorry, I thought you meant the film “Birdman” and was extremely confused.

I think Finn is pretty annoying and doesn’t really have a character larger than one dimensional, but the weird oddly specific stereotype generalization you mentioned definitely doesn’t fit and definitely borders on racist.
I’d probably just go with “less crap Jar Jar Binks,” though it certainly has nothing to do with him being black, I just think the character’s annoying.

He’s nothing like Jar-Jar Binks. There’s a difference between someone who’s a bit immature and a spaz and a bumbling moron. As for the one dimensional thing I don’t think one dimensional characters who have clear aspirations, a defined set or morality and go through stages of emotions etc. can be considered as one dimensional but I digress. And you finding him annoying doesn’t mean you’re racist in the slightest so don’t worry about that 😉

I don’t mind if you like Finn, you’re entitled to your opinion.

I’d reply but I don’t want you to throw another tantrum, I know how hard it is for you to fathom that you could ever be wrong.

It’s chill though, you’re allowed to bully everyone but nobody can say anything you don’t like or you’ll get angry and act all self-righteous.
I get it, I’ve dealt with people like you before and at this point I just feel sorry for you.
If making fun of others and mocking people is how you spend your free time then I’m not going to lose too much sleep over accidentally offending someone on the internet who regularly belittles other people.
For the record I never would have used the word if I’d known it would upset you, even though the original comment was not directed at you anyway.

You can keep trying to challenge me for that little ego boost it seems to give you but I’m not helping out with that anymore.
I also really wish you’d keep to your word of “not having anything more to say to you,” but oh well.

Last movie I saw in the cinema was Civil War, midnight screening last week.
No idea what all this “bad colour pallet” is about, nor do I get some of the odd criticisms of it.
I’m really not fond of the MCU at all to be honest.
In saying that though, I thought Civil War was fantastic.
I really liked the first film, The Winter Solider I thought was a bit overrated but technically well done, however Civil War actually felt like something new and had a more engaging story than it probably had a right to. I think it’s the best MCU movie after Guardians of the Galaxy, which still takes top spot for me.

Though like I said, not really big on the MCU in general, so take that as you will.

Plus I’m a huge Spider-Man fan and they handled the character better than anything Sony’s done since Spider-Man 2.

Re-work the site so it's main focus is not about fan editing or preservations entirely.
Time

Most forums have this kind of sub-grouping you’re talking about and it’s much more user-friendly.
I could be completely wrong but a couple of years ago I swear this place was laid out better, I may be thinking of another site though.
It’s hard to find things and having to go through hundreds of pages one at a time to find something gets a bit tiresome, so groupings would really help.

No, that doesn’t make it worse.
Words are offensive if you allow them to be offensive and get upset over them; that’s your individual issue, not other’s. Expecting the world to tip toe around everyone just in case they offend someone is ludicrous.

Regardless I already owned up to it and apologised. Berating me isn’t doing anything, I literally just agreed that I was out of line.
I was saying that it’s in the rules to not A) direct personal attacks and B) not to overuse cursing, both of which are done on an extremely regular basis by some individuals but it goes ignored because “it’s expected.”
I’d say calling everyone who doesn’t agree with an opinion you have a “dumbass” or “stupid” at every turn is substantially worse than an offhanded curse word that happened to unintentionally offend someone specific because of a personal issue.

I know what I did was wrong, but it’s a pretty darn big case of the pot calling the kettle black.
I’ve seen users banned for saying lesser things than telling people to “F off” because they got offended, is them being offended not as important because they’re not in the “elite club.”?

I’m not continuing this discussion because the thread is once again getting derailed right after going back on track, if you have an issue with me either take it up with me in off topic or pm me, otherwise I’m done here.
