It is a fairly reasonable impending Doom that tips the Balance of the space Battle in the Empires favor.

But it does not feel like the ticking time bomb and it's not played off against the attack run.

Perhaps if the Death star kept Shooting down a few more capital ships whilst they were trying to destroy it that would go some way to fixing the lack of tension of what was causing them to potentially lose the battle.

In this case the Executor should probably fall away and break apart not hitting the death star

STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW
Time

I think there is a scope for private fundraising events.

There are a number of Small cinema Hotels in London which you can Hire as a private Event Space. I am quite sure this would be entirely feasible. And they are also independent.

If the model work was also exhibited along side it That would Be Art exhibition / Film project then that could create funds from showing the work.

I guess you would have to still download the original film for the payment to the cinema Hard drive but show the alternative cut.

But there is obviously a cost to Hiring the Space and the facilities and would only work in Major cities. Dropping a tentative date run of a showing to see how many people show interest would give an idea of if it would work?

I doubt there would be any comeback on anything like this at all.

Take Nightbreed the Cabal Cut as an example... They showed this cut in order to raise funds for a full directors cut Blu-ray release of the film and get the missing material cleaned and released. This was by a group called seraphim films.

They achieved their goal and it is coming. and was also announced at comic-con

I am sure there are enough people here with some gusto and sense to know how to go about doing this. OriginalTrilogy.com has a similar sort of message any way enough dreaming. But perhaps if any money made went to releasing the OT theatrical releases on BLU Ray then you have a worthy cause also and keep the edit fund raising separate whilst at the same time gaining the exposure needed to get the donation funds ti do the work.

8 Years and Counting...Lol

I spent 4 weeks Solid about 8 hours a day sometimes more doing a sound Mod for it this summer, you can find my work on it there at the forum...about 200MB and a totally rebalanced and RE-EQ'd soundtrack and new sound effects.

I dig creative projects, but you have to appreciate things take time and you also need to have the time at hand. There is no way I could do this at the moment.

It's Better to give back to people that give to you that is how it works best.

Since watching the Editroid Laser Disc I noticed an Audio Line that I was pining after...

"Master Yoda"

Ok we are in the throne Room on the Death Star and Vader says to Luke

"Obi-wan has taught you well"

Hang on a minute Vader Killed him a while ago he also fought Luke in Empire Strikes Back knowing that he could have Beaten him.

So Luke says "I will not fight you father"

Now I don't disagree with that response but I think it would be a better to Hear "Master Yoda" as a response to Vader at this moment. It is a Huge shocking Revelation that would Make Vader / Ankakin's Blood boil and serve as a correction. Note I called him Anakin because It Brings him Back to people he once knew.

Vader does also get annoyed so It works as he says "you are unwise to lower your defenses" Bam slams in with a Light Sabre.

Job Done

NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

I'd be happy to do the repitching for the things if that'd help. I am an experienced audio engineer, and something like that is a piece of cake to me. Also, it doesn't really need to be done to every line. A lot of ESB is OK. ROTJ is the one that is most out of line

If I were to pick the "Odd" one out for Vaders voice it would be the original Star Wars not in ESB or ROTJ.

Vader clearly sounds the most different in the first film.. If anything this would be the one I would attempt to alter and leave the other two alone.

Because the bottom end is missing and some high / Mid needs taking out.

Not sure where you got ROTJ is the one that is all over the place from?

In fact his voice is not pitched differently it's a different Equalization James Earl Jones still spoke like he did they just used a different curve on his voice in ESB and ROTJ

Which was not used in STAR WARS

This fan edit in particular is a very meticulous craft.

A lot has to go into it... These things take time so be patient.

The project has no doubt benefitted from it's long development cycle that means it benefits your enjoyment when it is finally released.

Stop thinking like wham bam like everyday tasks work or chores and this edit.

It is what makes it special that it is not like that.

Most films today suffer because of people breathing down film makers necks. Let's not do this to people who are devoting as much time as they can to something for all our enjoyment

The Surprisingly Strange Story of "Lapti Nek"
Time

Ok, so I think this is really interesting....

But let me get this straight the version of Lapti Nek in the movie is nowhere to be found....

Is there any chance that Annie has it? Or might know where to look?

There is also only snippets laced together of

Galactic Dance Blast...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o3SjPqG8hSo

It is not a proper track, so I wonder if there are copies of the recording sessions. That would be an amazing find.

There seems like there is a lot more to this...

Ironic how Lapti nek means "work it out"

I don't buy the excuse that it was lost.. That is like saying whoops we lost part of John Williams recording with London symphony orchestra master so we will have to put different music in there now.

I wonder if John Willliams or Ben Burt actually have it? Even if not a "Master"

British Preview's 'Empire Strikes Back' Reel
Time

I recently went hunting for some behind the scenes footage for Empire Strikes Back and I came across 2 documentaries that were British and were both on the lead up to the films Release I felt they were quite nice documentaries in their own right but they veered off away from the Empire Strikes Back and talked about other subjects or films.

So I decided to Omit the content about other films and splice both the documentaries together.

The footage was used from.

1. The Risk Business - The Movie (focusing on the Empire Strikes Back and financial risk)

2. Star Wars Music By John Williams (focusing on John Williams whole Career as well as The upcoming release of the Empire Strikes Back)

3. Vivaldi Trailer

Oh and the Carrie Fisher interview that just recently surfaced.

The Footage quality is far from great but It’s a better more focused watch than seeing both documentaries separately. I am aware that there is audio synch issue in the first half but my conversion software only allows me 3 minutes at a time so if someone does want to re-synch audio on the first part be my guest but I think it is not that bad because of quality of footage anyway.

I will post the link here and you should be able to watch and both download from it from media fire.

Hope you enjoy it and find it interesting as I have done.

Running Time 34:22 H264 aspect 4:3 but within 720 x 576

http://www.mediafire.com/watch/44ma9dcqwhn16f3/ESB_DOC.mp4

I do not own any of the rights to this material this is owned by the respective owners. This has been compiled for interest purposes and no copyright infringement is intended.

Slightly better quality version at a later point But the Kebab shop is calling my taste buds at the moment.

Yep I had it too :)

I used to have the Taun Taun with the slit in it's stomach so you could put the action figure in it :)

The episode numbers were on the OT. They began doing it when Star Wars was re-released right before The Empire Strikes Back came out. I was there, I still remember all the WTFs rumbling throughout the theater when Episode 4 came up.

The "Episode IV" title wasn't added until the 1981 re-release, a year after Empire was released.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

That needs sorting out on the internet as everything seems to claim it was altered prior to Empire Strikes Back or at least nobody says it like you just did. It's never clarified as alteration after an episodic mention in ESB

Thanks Ady I found this earlier and I kind of had my answer on this one already...

I have not seen the video but my gut feeling tells me the original unused crawl looked bad...

Simply because they panned out a camera manually and then tilted it so I am wondering about any wobble... But It's a progression from Flash Gordon :)

BTW I mean modded snow cat in making of Book not the MTV-7

Been a bit of an explosion of loads of unseen stuff recently

Last video I could find if any sort of compilation of doc footage is planned is a 6 part "Star Wars Music by John Williams"

In the first part we are treated to a view of Hoth Soldiers in the trenches and there is a Hoth Rebel driving a modded Snow Cat Tank.

How come that never made it in the movie I'll never know but anyway link below.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AGsbKZnaT8E

modded snow cat at 1:08 and it's a good watch too.

wether this is in the making of book I don't know but it's the first time I have seen this

I guess they were meant to be a fair match for these MTV-7 which also never made it in the film

Anyway my mind just boggles on this at the moment Happy Halloween all

I am gussing it's this one? That was originally folded back before they changed it.

Also after digging about the addition of Episode IV "A New Hope" in the crawl Screws up the planet reveal of tatooine music cue.

It's fixed in ANH:R though

Why doesn't Harmy's A New Hope have the episode number??

I have not seen it but that was how the original film was released so I guess that was the idea to keep it as close to it's original release as possible.

Star wars with its 1981 re-release it had the subtitle Episode IV: A New Hope added to remain consistent with its sequel, and to establish it as the middle chapter of a continuing saga before Empire strikes Back with the episode number and also called "A New Hope" otherwise originally It was just called...

STAR WARS

none of the OT films were advertised with any mention of episode numbers only by it's episode name title. And referred to as the next chapter.

And STAR WARS has always been known as STAR WARS rather than a new hope. It always felt a bit tacked on.

ESB has always had an episode number though as has ROTJ although they only needed them really because of the other 2 trilogies

The episodic model really kicked in for the PT and more of a big deal was made about it being the missing episodes at this point.

I thought I would add this from the ebook that has been released for interest:

"One really cool video shows the original version of the title card. Originally the STAR WARS logo (in a different design) didn't recede straight backward. Instead it started out in normal orientation, then folded over backwards into the plane of the opening crawl, and then receded, followed immediately by the crawl text."

Now I would love to see that too.

I'll take your point on that Ender but I think the issue I guess comes down to scale...

Those cruisers are big but nowhere near as big as a Planet.

But If we had a better scale reference to them being destroyed It might make it a bit more plausible.

They can shoot at Endor the Gas giant....

Or threaten to shoot this one...

Add another planet or sattelite in to the equation in the surrounding space similar to our own dead moon perhaps is another alternative

So I was thinking about Death Star II and how that it woks as a trap and Lure for the Rebels and is fine up to a point but one of the fundamental issues with the Death Star II is that it fires Lasers powerful enough to destroy a planet at tiny Rebel Ships.

I doubt this would be possible but what if the Death Star II fired on one of Endor's Moons and the chunks of Rock from this destruction destroyed the Rebel Ships.

Almost like a two part trap with the Imperials positioned in such a way as to push them into a fatal blast radius to make the Death Star II's weapon more lethally effective in another way.

I think once the executor crashes into Death Star II this renders it's Super Laser fire power redundant and only surface fire and the towers would be a threat.

But something like this would still fit with the dialogue whist mixing it up.

and on the flip side of this the imperial fleet needs to be positioned defensively around the Death Star II when it blows up to help explain their strange disappearance.

i.e. Huge chunks of metal colliding with Star destroyers taking them down with it it when it goes off.

Thanks for that Brash,

That is really quite interesting that I did not realize that the Episodes were added at the special edition stage.

I think it is quite a good idea to Have the Logo for each film Rather than repeat Star Wars Logo each time and remove the text of the episodes.. Or logo and simply episode.

I like the star field on the end credits though.

Not asking for anything to be altered but I would like to see someone do this idea.

You could argue that by watching the first few seconds of each film there is nothing but the opening crawl text that differentiates them and would not know which film it is initially. I think presenting a logo each film would be a nice touch.

@muddy yes seen it a couple of times.

I had no idea they made the crawl like this either
