Ady, are you working in 8 or 10 bit color - and if 10 bit, will you be releasing a 10 bit version?

Although I think 10 bit is an improvement even if it’still an 8 bit source don’t you need a 10 bit source or raw scan to really make a difference?

I think changing to 10 bit depth does do something positive regardless although I don’t know the specifics… I think it just allows a better gradient?

Help Wanted: for my Batman (1989) edit - Colour Correction Help Needed
Time

Just looking at it roughly it was full of green and the value was too low most the Color Correction in the bottom or shadow.

If you wanted batman to have the yellow logo looks like you would have to color it in manually.

whoops sorry bluer because he has a purple jacket yeah…

Probably this one is more correct that the other attempts. Shirt should be orange though yeah pretty tough…

It might give you a bit of a pointer anyway. might need a hue shift for the magenta…

the tips of the horns should be facing forward absolutely. there is no point having a pointy end unless you can use it to stab or gouge. Not pointing towards his own mouth like in the McQuarrie painting. But off away from the mouth so as not to get in the way while eating.

^ I have been thinking about this design of the hand puppet a bit yesterday and this morning and I think what you can take away from it is that the Tusks or horns are not a prominent feature. But that also makes very little sense because if an animal grows either tusks or horns they are generally very noticeable as seen in elephants, rhino, rams, goats, deer and pigs.

Not only this but a horn or a tusk also has very obvious uses for either scooping and stabbing or butting and ramming.

So I think it looks like they tried to hide that feature under the fur somewhat on the Hand puppet but i just thought if you were going to give the Wampa Horns or Rams that made sense they would have to be quite a prominent feature to make sense.

So I just thought what shape makes sense and based off the old Mcquarrie painting I think his Horns shape and placement made the most sense.

Excuse the rough job here it is just for the purpose of illustrating the Mcquarrie Horn Placement.

The other thing I noticed is that another feature that makes the Hand puppet so appealing is that the shoulders start half way up it’s head. and it has like a bit of a hunch or hunched back.

Well if the wampa don’t work out you could replace it with a xenomorph.
And then have eggs about hatch a face hugger, he gets his lightSaber out just in time to cut a face hugger in half.
Yesssssss… it’s so almost too perfecsst…

Plenty of K Y Jelly either way!

great! I am really glad it has Ears 😃

No, the plan was to create one with the features Ady likes and replace all the shots.

RRRROOOOAAAARRRR!!!

Actually joking aside here but animals always try to make themselves appear bigger when on the attack so take note of the arms being outstretched so as to be more intimidating.

yeah I figured to get the face looking so spot on that Ady would not forget the ears. So interesting the original Hand puppet is going and we will have a new type of Hybrid in revisited?

I honestly do think the pointy ears go very well with the big fat nose though from the original design and gives it an over the top yet still organic feel.

It is much more Fantasy styled than the Special edition. Just a comparison between the Hand puppet and this new Wampa that was all really. I don’t mind if it is different but I thought you were trying to match it precisely to the Hand puppet?

Just thought it was worth adding That in the Music Video By Queen “Princes of the Universe” around 2.03

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VEJ8lpCQbyw

There is some further deleted footage of Conner Mcleods Quickening from the original Highlander Film along with a short shot of a splash for when a neon letter Lands in the Water in the Silvercup Battle. There is possibly a few more in there also I have not checked all the shots. But I will be adding this to the list.

Something I was reluctant to add to this list was the film “Midway” also including deleted scenes from “the Battle of Britain” It is a claim on the website movie mistakes. I can’t confirm this one as I have neither film.

Just added ROTJ lapti-nek music video.

the official music video for Johnny B. Goode and it contains some very interesting deleted shots of Michael J. Fox, most notably an exchange at the end where he appears to coin the term
"rock 'n roll."

A few people have uploaded this video (from the same source), but this one seems to be the earliest upload:
https://youtu.be/nTn3DG3maXE

Any more music videos with deleted scenes in them?

I think it looks brilliant spot on really but… not trolling at all (no pun intended) Where are his Ears?

Is it that we can’t see them in that video?

It is actually one of the reasons why the special edition Wampa looks wrong.

Also just looking at the Horns on the hand puppet and at your puppet the bottom edge of the horns look like it rests on the middle axis of the mouth. And I don’t know if that is angled down or dropped in height? Because it’s really hard to see them on the Hand Puppet.

They also are not Jet Black but like a white / grey Tusk, But looking at the original hand puppet some more it looks like he had one tusk higher than the other one. wonky tusks if you like. Definitely deformed the tusk on the left is a bit higher up.

Also of note because if that horn on the right which is lower down is correct in that photo above that means the shot of the Wampa hand puppet in the film is perhaps flipped? as in the film the lower protruding horn is on the left. Just saying…

There could be a third shot which I am on the fence about the sword being dropped in close up. but it feels like different footage and willing to call it an insert.

That does seem very possibly that it’s from the first film, but I’d have to watch the footage to better assess.

Yep it could be… But the other 2 shots are 100% so it’s logged. In the original film Highlander we see the sword being dropped from quite a distance.

Also of note is that in the original film we get spammed the same shot 3 times from different angles where Connor raises his arms and yells “argh!” so this footage would possibly fill that section rather than the spamming of the same shot and then later the shot where he is in mid air is an extension by the looks of it. Dropping the sword would be alternative take if it’s from the film.

Ok Lexx well if you are not sure and I don’t have those films to check we will leave that logged in the thread and unconfirmed with a question mark over it.

LexX sorry I have not added the married with children entry but I am not sure I understand completely. Are we talking about scenes possibly deleted from National Lampoons vacation?

Thanks Earl will add in a bit.

Nothing I can steadfastly report on Death race and Death race 2 but I will leave it floating in highly suspicious category. I have both films and studied them I am leaning towards it being no deleted footage used for the actual races but perhaps possibly other generic material footage could have been taken for slow motion intro sequences and alike but I can not confirm on this.

The Warriors (1979) 1080p HD Theatrical Cut (Released)
Time

The VHS cut had a different piece of music but due to rights issues a song had to be changed also so the VHS is the original theatrical edit of the sound mix not the DVD or Netflix version for that matter.

Weird though I picked the Pal DVD up in a charity shop today. Not the ultimate version the old dvd.

The original song was “Nowhere to run” changed to “I am a warrior”. That might also affect the end credits?

Edit my bad kt hs only UK VHS that got changed sorry for that.

2 Deleted shots used in Highlander “the final Dimension” from the Original Highlander final quickening.

Note these 2 short shots are not found in Highlander 3 the sorcerer only in the re-edit.

this is at least the shots that are in my opinion a dead giveaway because of the animation effects style that is clearly apparent from the original film.

There could be a third shot which I am on the fence about the sword being dropped in close up. but it feels like different footage and willing to call it an insert.

Has anyone tried to use movies like Cloverfield etc to build the missing ‘alien squid’ subplot.

It seemed odd to me to so slavishly copy all the rest of the book (in the original cut) and then leave that out when it was largely the point of the piece.

Artificially generated terror becoming the benevolent tyrant.

I am surprised nobody tried to do the giant alien squid either!

I thought Monsters (Gareth Edwards) might work?

Sounds good this edit.

OK Thanks for the correction. I will remove that entry.

Rumormill of Ridleyville!

Bit busy at the mo so keep em coming and I will update list soon.

Not looking for extended tv cuts of the same film but will allow Godfather as was a special made for TV mini-series.

I will look at Highlander 3 and Deathrace when I get the chance. Duel (Spielberg) does not qualify new shots filmed for incredible hulk TV episode.

Do not be afraid to post any suspicions of deleted scenes in other films or TV shows as long as it is labeled as such. All other entries will be added accordingly.

A possible bit of deleted material from Aliens (James Cameron) ended up in the form of a audio log in Aliens Colonial Marines recorded by Michael biehn it appears at the very start of the game. In the fashion of Sigourney Weavers audio log from the Nostomo at the end of Alien. It sounds like his younger self?

Confirmed new voice work recorded by actor Michael Biehn not salvaged from any old recordings.

Yes you are all correct ROTJ is destroying any competition now on 5 counts of using deleted scenes or having deleted scenes from it’s own footage in other films.

That Firefox Arcade Game was a massive Rip off I could never figure out how to play the game it was like paying for deleted scenes! I’d say it was made of unused aerial footage though yes I will add it.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nJ53K_DXUVk

Was the computer graphics part of the Video layer in Firefox Arcade?

Was Close to adding Superman Returns for the Marlon Brando bit part but it’s a CGI mash up I don’t think it qualifies.

If I recall correctly it is shots of Ewoks being shot at as they run through the forest during the final battle in the Ewok movie.

Another one I need to check is Highlander 3 might used alternate footage from the first films final quickening in the climax and quickening at the end of the 3rd film but definitely not the paper mache head exploding 😃

This one

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0452608/

Actually I thought it was better than Death Race 2000 in a way. Comes highly praised for a trashy film night. Can’t confirm this one just yet need to look in to it a bit more.

Did Superman 2 use deleted footage of Krypton for the original Superman film? Although I’m not sure this qualifies as they were shot back to back and were always intended to intermingle on the same shoot schedule.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Midway_(film)
This is another Tora! Tora! Tora! one and also uses footage from a bunch of other films. Curious if there could be any unused footage in this also from TTT.

The Final Countdown 1980 also uses footage from Tora! Tora! Tora! but again unsure if it is only stock footage.

Bladerunner & ROTJ now tied in 1st place!

Another Interesting One is Stephen Spielbergs Duel.

Footage was re-used in an episode of the incredible Hulk TV show not Sure if it is deleted footage or not? From the first season episode “Never Give a Trucker an Even Break” (originally airdate on CBS: April 28, 1978).[27] Spielberg was reportedly “not too happy about it,” according to Matheson (writer).

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fjhtr0vTtcw

But also in Spielbergs film 1941 he revisits the same Gas station in Duel with some of the Same actors and blows up the garage.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CPnwlNvwBLI

And in the Case of Duel by Steven Spielberg it was originally shot for TV and altered to be a feature film. The voice over from the original TV cut and superimposed eyes on the road were removed.

The space 1999 footage would definitely qualify as they are unused or longer shots it would seem I will add it on now.

Ok let’s keep note of Battle Star Galactica for now.

One title I am highly suspicious of is Death Race and it’s sequel Death Race 2. I am almost certain the sequel uses loads of unused footage from the original films car chases and the splicing is so quick in the sequel it feels strung together with a bunch of deleted material somewhat.

Well i’d say that puts ROTJ out in front for the time being.

I was looking at tv show called pearl that used footage from tora! tora! tora! Doubt it is deleted footage though? Honestly still yet to see the film but I will soon.

I will update the list in a bit cheers SilverWook:)

I suppose the mother of all re-used footage films is battle beyond the stars / Space raiders / starquest 2 / Dead Space and I am sure it also had another release for those special effects shots. But it’s not deleted scenes…
