How often does everyone here marathon some/all of the movies?

I’ve found if I watch one, I have the overwhelming urge to watch the next one in the series soon after. I regularly watch them all in chronological order.

Once I even took the time to incorporate the animated series in their respective chronological order. It really added to my appreciation of how cohesive Star Wars truly is.

I’m thinking of purchasing a 3D printer and was wondering if anyone here has experience with 3D printers and would have some advice.

(Thought about starting a new thread but did and search first and decided to just resurrect this existing thread instead.)

I recently purchased two new memory foam bean bag chairs for my movie room, and it’s always been a rule of mine since I was a kid that any new addition to my entertainment area must be broken in while watching a Star Wars movie before anything else.

I decided to go with the one I’ve seen the least (since it’s the newest) The Rise of Skywalker.

I do have some issues with it, but I still love it. I don’t think it’s odd that Palpatine returned, but announcing it in the crawl seems strange. I’d rather have seen exactly how he came back on screen, or have his return be a rumor that the characters don’t believe until they see him themselves, and figuring out how he did it becomes the answer to defeating him.

I preferred Rey being a nobody, but as I said before TRoS was released, her being related to someone does not negate the lessons she learned in The Last Jedi. (No one else can tell you who you are. Friends, family and mentors enrich our lives, but who we are comes from within, not from others.) I suppose this lesson does fit well with Leia telling Rey, "Never be afraid of who you are.” But I still liked the idea of her not being related to anyone.

Aside from that, there is overwhelmingly so much to enjoy. In my opinion the sequel trilogy not only fits well together, but fits well with the rest of the saga. I think people forget how much the passing of Carrie Fisher most likely changed what this movie would have been. All things considered, they handled it well.

It was so great to “take one last look, at my friends.” I enjoyed every single bit of fan service to the fullest extent. When Han says " I know," to Ben, it still gets me every time.

There isn’t any real sense of finality, but how could there be? That galaxy far, far away is still out there, and I’m sure we’ll eventually want to check in on what became of everyone and meet new people as well. (“If you want a happy ending, that depends, of course, on where you stop your story.” - Orson Welles) I take comfort in the idea of Star Wars continuing on. I feel fortunate to have be among the generation to have lived though its beginning. I can’t wait to see what the next generation of Star Wars brings.

On side note, those bean bag chairs were great. They would be very easy to fall asleep in. Bean bag “technology” has come a long way since I last owned one. I highly recommend them.

Solo is my lest favorite of the new movies, but I still enjoyed it. Despite my issues with it, I’d definitely be up for it if they continued it as a Disney+ series or made a movie sequel.

The trailer wasn’t as impressive as I’d hoped, but I still trust in Villeneuve, the excellent cast, and the source material. After Mandalorian season 2, this is what I’m most looking forward to.

I’m not sure how well 3D was doing in the theaters prior to current events, but I think most TV manufacturers are no longer making 3D TVs. I used to see movies theatrically in 3D occasionally, but Dolby Cinema @ AMC Prime was usually my first choice, at least where I currently live.

George wasn’t done making things up for decades after.

I hate that I never saw TPM in 3D when it was in theaters. I wish they went ahead and released them all in 3D. I wonder how much of the work they completed? Just imagine the trench run in 3D!

I wish Lucasfilm/Disney put on some sort of online Star Wars Celebration since the event was cancelled. Comic-Con had a great one with Comic-Con@Home. DC FanDome wasn’t bad either. There’s a ton of similar content on YouTube and Twitch. I was really looking forward to streaming Celebration this year.

That Phantom Menace panel was great. Time sure does fly.

I’m sure George’s ideas about Star Wars changed many times as he was making it over the years. How could they not? My own ideas about Star Wars have changed many times too. People make Star Wars their own, and in my opinion it’s that aspect that makes it suitable for absolutely anyone, regardless of intentions.

Operation: Cinder

There will be an expansion pack of Bad Batch characters for the new Lego Skywalker Saga game. That game is scheduled to be released in Spring 2021. Could this series be released around the same time or before? The Bad Batch did show up in season 7 of The Clone Wars, but I’m thinking they may want to start their series not long after The Mandalorian season 2 finishes up, just to keep the streaming going. I think the character pack DLC would make more sense after the series premiers, but I suppose the arc they’ve already been in could be enough. Just wishful thinking.

Thanks! I’m a huge Blade Runner fan too. It’s an old liquor dispenser from the 50’s. After Deckard kills Zhora, he drinks from the same style glasses found inside. I have the square glass he drinks Johnnie Walker from too.
