It'd be cool to see a few of those shots used in ROTS — just about anything that isn't a mid/long shot looks as realistic as the CG in the movie itself, and the idea of a bunch of Siths assaulting the temple does appeal to me. (We'd have to dump the Rule of Two but that's about it.)
I think it's unnecessary. Anakin should be Anakin. Especially for the Revisited edits, given the locked nature of ANH:R
Not to mention that the lead Sith in that video looks like a proto-Darth Vader.
Interesting look, although I'm not intending to make it look grainy and worn. I'm taking inspiration from neo-noir films such as The Man Who Wasn't There and Sin City, rather than trying to make it look like it was made in the '40s itself.
I originally posted this image in the ANH:R thread, almost exactly a year ago (page 239 if people want to track it down); it's a preview of the saga set. I've made a couple of changes since then (the ESB logo is now different) but it'll give you some idea.

That'd be cool if you could show me some of what you've done. It's an interesting idea re: cutting Neo's first scenes — I never liked the scene where he meets Trinity, but I wasn't sure how to cut it without breaking the plot. I'll see how it works. I'm pretty sure I'm going to keep the blue and red pills and definitely the overall plot with the simulation and "real" world, although as I mentioned, the people will no longer be part of a power system but instead part of a gigantic computer.

Ady has outright stated he is making no plot changes to ESB:R and the only dialogue/pacing changes are to revert to the original version of a few scenes. Put it on the Wishlist thread, Janskeet.
Or better yet, don't. I think it's a dumb idea and "fixes" something that nobody else seems to think is a problem.
The timing is suspicious, and it's clear that wanting his name there is one reason he's doing it, but at least he's finally making a positive contribution. I'd like to think my comment about not deserving credit if you don't do anything to help put him over. It's not so much a bribe as an attempt to deserve it.

Adywan is using the 1080p broadcast version of the 2004 official edition as a basis for this edit. It's downconverted to 720p for the sake of getting it done within this decade.

That's a bit harsh. He may not have had much creative input but he was undeniably crucial to the logistics involved in making the films; that's his job. It's the *executive* producer who's usually accused of sitting around and making money from it, and in this case the EP is Lucas himself.
No, that was the opera scene. They decided to use the on-set recording because McDiarmid's laryngitis or whatever-it-was gave his voice a unique quality. In the transformation scene they filtered his voice, which I agree was unnecessary.
