STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW
Time

Adywan's PayPal address is in his sig.

Lucas and co seem to be content to let us be as long as we're not attempting to profit. Ady has made it clear that these donations are only donations, that he's not making any profit off them, and that he is not selling the film. I'm pretty sure they know what's going on with Revisited and if they were going to jump down our throats they would have done it by now.

Hmmmm. Just watched the latest fan-o-matic and wanting to point out something I figured a while ago. In my head, I see the scene playing out thus:

Palps: I told you to remain on the command ship.

Vader: A small rebel force has landed on Endor.

Palps: You couldn't have told me over the phone?

I think making Vader a hologram in this scene could work — just cut the first line or replace it with something more suitable, and make the other cuts if you like, and it works just as well.

I actually prefer that idea to the original version. It keeps Shaw in the shot while not confusing new viewers who would not recognise him without the Vader makeup and suit. Even if that's just a still shot of his head, a wizard like Adywan should be able to give it some simple animations and stick it on top of a Vader suit. It says "he's redeemed now, but these horrible things still happened and he still has to live... well not live, but incorporeally exist with that."

I expect ROTJ:R will be considerably more radical than the first two, but probably less radical than PT:R. Where on that continuum it will fit is uncertain, but Ady has suggested the ending will not be either the OUT version or the SE version but a more fitting finalé to the series. He hinted a while back that he intended to kill off Lando, but that was (we think) a joke.

As far as I know, Qui-Gon was always meant to die in TPM. Certainly it wasn't shoehorned in after Neeson made it clear he didn't want to do another one (which itself I've only heard on here). I remember watching an interview when the movie came out; he was asked if this would be his only appearance given his character's death and he said roughly "Well, you can never be too sure, this being Star Wars after all".

Personally, I think ESF's altered versions look a lot more like Mars than the original (except for the green rocks at the bottom right of the first image), not to mention simply more realistic (I shouldn't really use that word to describe Star Wars, "believable" is probably better). I don't like the changed lightsabre colours though; the blue ones are too green and too bright and the purple and green ones are too pale and indistinct.

I think the problem with Kamino isn't so much that it looks too clean and sterile but that it looks too fake. I know there was a lot of practical work done in the prequels — McGregor was probably on a real set at least most of the time — but it *looks* like freshly-rendered CG and nothing in a movie that's trying to be photorealistic ever should. Anything that could be done to make it look more like a real set is welcome and I think Angel's work is an example of that — albeit an extreme example, as any further in that direction looks too dirty. I suggest that someone who is doing this sort of work view some older films which try to present that sort of environment — ones made before digital grading and enhancements made it possible to look like Kamino — and see the little imperfections and things that mark it out as being a physical set, and try to work them into AOTC. 2001 might be an example of such a film. I haven't seen THX 1138 but from what I can gather it also has some examples — maybe someone else can confirm?
