That might have to do with them looking best in ESB in the first place. I've always thought so, anyway. (very cool, but not quite there in ANH, too fat in ROTJ)

Me neither. I was born in 1977, but never saw any of them on the big screen. The Special Editions were the first time I saw any Star Wars in a theater.

I would've been around 16 when it came out. We also had OK soda and Orbitz around the same time.

I remember one Saturday afternoon during our regular airing of Batman Beyond when the network it was on (Global TV in Ontario) aired the UK opening and I saw the Batman of the Future title card. That was strange and cool. :)

That's a very common practice. No idea why. Batman Beyond was Batman of the Future in the UK, for example.

I don't know how much I would've noticed the difference in the crawls, but the speed at which the logo recedes is ridiculous in some versions. It's like they were just trying to get it over with. :p
