Are you thinking about DVD-DL Blu Ray playable disc?

Oy, that would definitely be an online purchase for me, since the hicks in my half-a-horse town probably don't know that such a thing is possible. And how many have Blu-Ray recorders? The few here that do would be working overtime on that.

Yep, I have the NTSC Version 3.0 as well. Great stuff! I am into trading, so if anyone would like to trade for a copy, let me know via PM. (doesn't have to be a trade, but if possible, I do like to compare lists)

I also have the ADigitalMan/Darth Editous Hybrid Edition, in SL and DL NTSC mode. It uses DE's footage, but has some extra ideas ADM liked incorporated into it.

I like the sounds of the pods in Episode I. But then in Episodes II and III EVERYTHING sounded like a pod racer!

That's pretty much how I feel. When I saw TPM, I did like the sounds of the various pod racers, even the ones that warbled or just had that 'thumpthumpthumpthump' (Sebulba?) sound. But then he just overdid it with the warbling and whistling and whathaveyou.

Ooo, I'm a PS3 owner! *preparing to be pleased?*

P.S. Saw "Wall-E" tonight and loved it. Mr. Burtt got it right on that one. :)

I'll second that. I always hated the "Motorboat" sound of the Slave-I in the 2004/Episode II editions...

I've said it before; the sound design in the PT bugs me more than anything else. It's the warbling engines and stuff that bugs me most. Every second pod racer did it, every second spaceship does it, even that big green creature in the arena in Episode II does it! RIDICULOUS! That's something I hope Ady will give some attention to when he gets there. It drives me nuts. It's like Mr. Burtt did it once and thought "that's neat," then went overboard with it. Oh, he also overdid it with the French horn or something-sounding flyover/flypass sounds, first heard by speeder bikes in ROTJ.

Me too. :) Even attended a few "Trekker" parties many moons ago (just an excuse to watch a bunch of Trek before a new movie came out, really) My favorite series overall was Deep Space Nine, though I've enjoyed all of them to varying degrees.

While we're on Trek (we'll stop soon, I'm sure!), do you like it to any degree, Ady?

I think the best soundalike I've heard for Vader was on the old French versions. They did a really good job casting whoever that was. I dunno if it's the same guy on the home releases or what, but anyway, back before I had a VCR and all that jazz, I'd just watch it anytime, anyway. So when it came on the French channel, I'd watch it there.

One funny thing is that in A New Hope, they called Chewbacca "Chico" when calling him by his nickname. He was "Chewie" in subsequent versions.

That is so cool, 005! I just wish I knew when it was on. They don't mark it as Star Trek Remastered on my channel guide. I've only seen the new effects once while casually browsing.

Yeah, my DVR labels it as a repeat of Star Trek. It's usually on late Saturday nights and is the first thing preempted when anything happens. It's usually syndicated to CW's or MyNetworkTV's depending on where you live. In the US, now that I think about it. Not sure of foreign showings.

I think it was on Fox Rochester the time I saw it. I'll start keeping an eye out.

Oh, and Jor Tallen, that Wampa footage is most likely on "Building Empire."

Anyone have "The art of ESB" book? There are photos of the matte paintings in that.

I looked in it earlier for a shot of the Hoth generator, but no dice.

P.S. I appreciate that people are using the term CG rather than CGI all the time. I find people say it without thinking of what it stands for, and thus many times their statements are redundant. Heh.
