STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW

Fjodin, you seem to really like the SE additions. (and thus, I figure you're fairly young and grew up with the SE versions) However, Adywan, and most people on this forum (originaltrilogy.com...), do not like the SE elements. There are a few that are decent, but there are a lot of problems with most of them and they're not worth fixing. Most of us believe that Empire was nearly perfect the way it was originally, so this edit will be much more about cosmetic fixes than ANH was.

In those comparison shots, I can't say how much I prefer the GOUT version of #15 over the SE version. Mystery is good! Leaving things to the imagination is so much a part of the fun of watching things sometimes. To just see this huge hairy thing walking towards Luke (even though we know it's a guy in a suit) is much better than the even more obvious guy in a suit eating tauntaun drumsticks. :p

And I kinda like the suggestion made earlier of making the wampa's horns match the first close-up ones in subsequent shots, where they're there, but obscured by fur. It looks cool with that broken stump at the end, too.

I believe that the Wampa hand-puppet prop used in the attack-short had horns, just that they were covered over with white fur a little bit too much when the prop was made. What could be perceived as darker patches in his high cheek bones (...) are the horns.

That's exactly what I was thinking when looking at those stills.

ladyferry - Thanks very much for your link. Adywan's preview looks great. Lots of great subtle touches already, and one that I notice now, is how the Hoth Planet 'rotates' a little, as the Probe closes in. The 'rotation' of Tattooine Planet as the Falcon escaped from Mos Eisley was a big hit with me on his ANH:R!

Thats okay babe! I keep them all together on youtube for all Adywan's fans to see, and also to be used for future reference to show how much an effect or scene has progressed. The only one that I haven't managed to get is the super extended Alderaan explosion, the one where the planet cracks open before blowing up. If theres anyone out there with it please post it so I can download it and put it on youtube with the rest? and If theres any others that I've missed please let me know also?

They're all here, lady: http://www.erikstormtrooper.com/adywan-anh/adywan-anh.htm

***The "Darth Editous" Episode IV DVD Info and Feedback Thread*** - a partially "de-specialed" DVD

That's nice of you, bkev. :) Too bad we can't get in contact with DE (I've tried!) to maybe get him to update the first post of this thread with the link you'll have soon. Of course, his edit is still listed at fanedit.org (here: http://fanedit.org/33/), so maybe someone could add the link there as well. It is available there via RS, but mininova will be a great option.

Man, it's already been four minutes since someone last posted... You know what that means.

Oh, I was wondering if anyone has any pictures handy of Vader's old school shuttle. I couldn't really find anything , though I haven't done a real exhaustive search or anything. I'd love to see the detail on the model. Kinda reminds me of an episode of Reading Rainbow where Mr. Burton went behind the scenes on TNG and showed the model for a shuttlecraft. The thrusters were disposable razors. :)

Hardcoding question
Time

I have been having a slight issue with deviantART lately. Around a week ago, I tried to upload a picture as usual, but this warning came up saying I couldn't upload any picture with less than 400x400 pixels. I thought that was odd, as I've uploaded some with 250 or less. I asked them and they just said that the minimum has always been 400 pixels and that the system has recently been hardcoded.

If it has always been 400 minimum, then how did I upload those ones that were way less? Was it softcoded and glitchy before or something? :p I'd ask them again, but I feel like I'm being a pest. (after only two messages to them) I already have one picture that will be absolutely impossible to upload and now I have to check the size every time before I save. :(

I don't understand why they'd have a minimum anyway. Lesser size means less space taken on their servers, right? Why should they care? It's stifling creativity.

Now, can someone explain the Ben/Owen thing? Haha. I know they were brothers up until the SEs, right? And so in Episode II, Beru is just some little girl that can be seen playing outside Padme's house in a deleted scene, right? Then she grew up and married this Owen fella, who may or may not have any extra significance to the families/characters at all?

And good gravy, why is it that everyone ages so much and Padme seems to have barely aged? Heh.

Yes, the prequels confuse me.

Actually, the two girls playing outside Padmé's house are Ryoo and Pooja. Beru was also in AotC, as you may recall. Yes, Obi-Wan and Owen Lars are no longer brothers, but he DID have a brother named Owen, according to the Jedi Apprentice series.

Ah, I thought she said Beru. Wouldn't have surprised me. I don't care to look up stuff from the prequels much, but that interested me last time I watched AotC. Plus, the Owen thing always intrigued me. I wonder who's idea it was to say he has a brother named Owen in the Jedi Apprentice series? I could see an author doing that to stick it to LFL for messing around with established history so much. Of course, they let him keep that story element, so...? Probably just another throwaway thing that they like to do.
