the only thing i hate about the celebrations is the "weessa free" line. I'm keeping the celebrations

Ditto. And good! ;) Of all the SE additions, I thought the celebrations were a nice touch. I like the new music, too.

Thinking back to when I read through this whole thread, I gotta say that at least the naysayers now don't seem as nasty as they used to be. I hope no one is harrassing you about ESB:R now like did happen with ANH:R.

and you might need a rapidshare account to download all the files, otherwise you will have to wait a long time for each file..

Ohhhh, I dunno about that anymore. I don't have an account and the longest I have to wait between files is around 80 seconds. (80 sec. for 200MB chunks, 50 sec. for 100MB chunks)

I don't know why it's like that, but I'm pretty happy about it. I guess they changed policies or something. During the day, the speed is kinda slow (50-70kbps; 100MB takes around 20-30 min.), but at night, it's much faster. (220-250kbps; 100MB takes around 7-8 min.) If you have time to 'babysit' the downloads, you can get a ton in a short amount of time. I just got a dual layer DVD in two days this way!

It may be different for different people, of course, but if this is happening for others as well, great! :)

The mention of a static screenshot just made me think of something I noticed when watching ANH:R last time; in the scene where the stormtroopers are knocking on the door, saying "open up in there," perhaps a still shot of the door could've been used rather than the usual, as when you see a close-up like that, all you see is the grain jumping around rather than a smooth still. But would that even work? I don't know. :p

well you know when you get that feeling you wish you'd never started something? Well i have that now. I've just sat through the AVCHD and there are glitches on the video and audio that aren't there in the original masters. I'm not going to bother doing another encode so i'm just going to switch back to my first encode, even though it now doesn't fill up the whole disc. the quality is exactly the same. so i'm going to add an extra audio track which will be the untouched laserdisc SE 5.1. so it probably won't be until later today that i start posting

Well, it's too bad that happened, but honestly...this is still very cool! ;) Looks the same, and will have an extra audio track? Not too shabby!

ADM is a great editor. I would love it if he offered to have a look at the project.

You should definitely mention it to him. I was talking to him not long ago and he says he's sort of in an editing rut, becasue there hasn't been a lot he's been interested in fixing lately. You never know; he may take a shine to this project.

I think this request might need a new thread. What do you think?

Why not just modify this thread's title and add (NEW EDITOR NEEDED) at the end or something like that?

As for uploading the rough cut, well, you can do what you want, but I'd probably just wait until it's done, because I hate spoilers. :p I know others *cough*Josh*cough* who would love to see it, though.

Anyway, thanks for such a detailed update. Have fun in college. I didn't know you were that young. Haha.

STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW

Thanks, Bingo. I must say that an upgrade could be nice, especially a Lambda class shuttle. It would feel less like they just re-used the neat-o new-for-ESB TIE Bomber for another scene. ;) It certainly doesn't look very regal, if you will. Like picking up a dignitary in a Ford Taurus.

Neat pic, DS, but Bingo got it right. It was the original ESB shuttle I was talking about, which was a modified TIE Bomber model, apparently.

Oh, I agree, DS. I have full confidence Ady will keep in all the things I love about Jedi, but...you know, tighten it up a bit. I would certainly love to see the belching and Tarzan yell get the chop, though. ;)

Anyway, back to the recently discussed [again] issue of Needa's shuttle, has anyone ever found some pictures of the model, or even a screenshot or two? I'd love to see it up close if possible! :)

Adywan, so you found ROTJ disappointing? How so? I thought it was just as good as the previous two, though I would rank it as the least in the trilogy.

Maybe he's on my side when it comes to all the belching, the Tarzan yell, and some of the cutesiness throughout the movie. Plus, some of it really feels like a rehashing of the first one. Other than that, I like it [and always will], but it's my least favorite of the OT by a country mile.

I'm still confused about aspect ratios, despite reading about them. For example, I know anamorphic is better than non-anamorphic because the scene will be bigger and the black bars will be smaller without zooming or distorting the picture somehow. But what is the ratio when you have a widescreen television and the whole screen is filled? Is there a good site that explains as many ratios as possible and maybe shows examples? There are so many times where I'd think 'why aren't there more movies that will fill a widescreen without having to zoom?' (which I don't do)

Look what I got for 25 cents! (a.k.a. Star Wars bargains)
Time

Today, at the local Salvation Army, I got an original 2 LP set of the Star Wars soundtrack. The covers aren't in bad shape; regular scuffing for a 31-year-old album. The vinyl itself, however, looks brand new! That was a really fun--and extremely cheap--purchase!

I also got the 2001: A Space Odyssey soundtrack LP in the same condition for 25 cents.

Have you ever found any really good deals like this?

I take it a little to heart when im called an (empire) fan boy, but its not a bad thing when i hear im not the only one.

Oh, you're certainly not the only one around here. It has always been my favorite, too. (Star Wars is very, very close behind, though!) I find that I've always liked the same things about it no matter what my age is; the snow planet is great, the humor is excellent, the little touches like the space slug were fresh, the ion cannon was awesome, Vader's "hibernation chamber", the snowspeeders, the AT-ATs, the amazing portrayal of Yoda, etc, etc, etc...

I've also found that a lot of people liked Jedi the most when young (flashiness, Ewoks, etc...), then feel Empire is the strongest overall when older. For me, Empire was always king.
