Didn't phrase it right.  Will fix it.

Nice one, Mr. Tracy. :)

I kinda like that suggestion of having the Emperor laugh as he falls to his death. He's such a loony, it seems appropriate. The idea of Piett turning is neat, too. Definitely a radical change, but probably no more radical than some of the things Ady has planned for the PT.

I have no idea what you guys are talking about.  :-P

^I like your new version, but I also like the old one in a way, because the red in the buildings reminds me of reddish clay. I like the brighter sky more in yours.

Oh, and care to take a stab at color correcting Bart's saber in this pic?

Who missed that?! :p I guess there was no time [or inclination?] to fix it. I'm surprised that Star Wars Insider printed it as-is. Whatever. Still neat-o. The "hair" on top of the helmet is a nice touch.

Puggo GRANDE - 16mm restoration (Released)
Time

Man, this thread is super technical and I don't understand a lot of what's being discussed, but that's ok. Very much looking forward to this transfer. :) I still don't have the 8mm version, but I should be getting it...soon, I hope.

Speaking of the old versions, check out this ad from the April 1978 issue of Fantastic Films magazine*:

So...how did this work, anyway? I know very little about this. I'm thinking this was not authorized by LFL. Did someone (possibly from Fantastic Films) just go into a theater and film the movie? How much trouble could they have gotten in? :p

*Awesome issue! Pretty much half devoted to Star Wars and half devoted to The Day the Earth Stood Still; two of my all-time favorites.

May I suggest using that as the backround for the chapter selection page on the DVD!

I agree, I think some of Vaderios' mockups should be menus on the DVD.

Absolutely! :) Maybe they won't make it into the movie itself, but since vaderios is saving them as high quality/hi-res images, they could be neat as a menu image.

Or at the very least, maybe a 'Fan Mock-Ups' DVD-ROM folder could be included? I'd love to be able to have them all together and show them to family and friends. :) We never had anything nearly to this extent for ANH:R (cuz vaderios wasn't around then? heh), and the mock-ups have been a ton of fun!
