Abrams is Destroying Star Trek like Lucas has Destroyed Star Wars
Time

Someone at another forum where I posted that pic just asked me why I didn't like the sound effects and I said "They sounded exactly like the Star Wars prequel trilogy, which were one of the biggest problems with it for me. Mr. Burtt (whos work I loved in earlier films!), is on this major warbling kick. Kirk's bike, Spock's ship, other ships, etc...all do this irritating warbling thing that I hate. It's hard to explain, but the engines can't just sound normal, they all have to 'wawawawawawawawawa...' and I hate it. The worst for me was that green creature in the arena in Attack of the Clones doing it?! Oh, and the hand phasers sounded goofy, too. Like spitting watermelon seeds or something.

It may be a very small, almost insignificant thing for some, but it's big for me. "

I wish I could show you an image of what I have, but I only know windows vista has that capability.

You can do that with any version. Just hit the 'Print Scr' button on your keyboard, then open a program like MS Paint and go to 'Edit' and hit 'Paste.' It'll paste whatever was on the screen.

The last anniversary was so unheralded, I dunno if they'll do much for the film that many hate the most out of the six. But then again, GL thought the way Jar Jar speaks would be the hot new thing for kids to imitate, so maybe they'll fool themselves into thinking people will want a huge celebration for the movie. :p

A new restoration would be good for the faneditors, I suppose.

Star Wars: Renascent *** NOW AVAILABLE!!! ***
Time

^You may have read something out of context. The raw file is for me to do a sort of quality control scan on, no more, no less. The 700 MB .avi is made from that file, so people will basically see the same thing anyway. The ultimate objective will always be the full DVD with menus near the end of the year.

I do think the donation thing is a little bit early to talk about as well. ;) If it becomes necessary, we'll see when the time comes. Probably won't even be necessary in the end.

hulk fan edit (* unfinished project *)

Nice idea! For shots where you need to show the 2003 Hulk, despite being long shots, maybe you could just make him a bit darker to blend better with the 2008 version.

You know, it might sound weird, but overall, I was more impressed by how Hulk looked in the '03 version, especially given how much older it is and how much better they could've done with the '08 one. :p At least the '08 one was more consistently-sized.

Have you seen Jorge's edit of the 2003 version, chickenfish? I love it! http://fanedit.org/280/

I'd watch the holiday special before I'd watch the prequels again.  At least the holiday special is funny in its own demented way.

I dunno if I'd go that far, but yeah, the HS is kinda somewhat sorta amusing at times. I did think the part where Korman is the robot that keeps breaking was funny. Oh, and Mark Hamill's makeup was funny, too. ("Shinier! More intense!")

Saw it in a small theater and left said theater confused more than anything. It didn't feel like Star Wars! Midichorians? Virgin birth? (please...) Annoying kid? Strangle-worthy CG idiot? Convoluted storyline? (which I still don't fully understand! Do I need to be a political expert or something?) ARGH!

The only positives for me were the pod race and the lightsaber battle (the closing force field thing was cool), two effects/stunt scenes, which are not what a movie should be about. It's supposed to be a big sweeping epic, not a tech demo. I do think that Liam Neeson did a nice job.

Anyway, despite all that, I don't hate the movie...just Jar Jar. To that end, I have enjoyed several fanedits of the movie and look forward to more! :p
