A lot of people on here don't use macs (in fact Ady is rather vocal about refusing to use one).

I know he doesn't use a Mac, but I don't remember any specific reason why. What's the big deal? :p

Anyway, um...interesting thread. :s I notice a telling comment in the cantina scene video: "Star Wars as you'll never wanna/wansta see it again" Then...what's the point of all this? Doing it for yourself is one thing, but presenting it for everyone is just going to result in a lot of negativity in some cases.

I did think Luke's new scream was kinda neat (I'd still go with silence), but then I see the hacked up cantina scene (and the comment made in the info section) and wonder what the deal is. Most people will not watch a movie that chopped up just to see if there are any neat moments in it.

This whole style can work well as a YouTube clipfest, but if you're expecting people to download a DVD-9 someday, you might have a very hard time convincing them to do so.

I meant to ask, are you making any changes that people might consider more controversial than others? I suppose the ion cannon might be one, beloved as it is, but your redo of that is excellent.

For me, this beloved scene is about a few things: the music around that scene, the sound effects and the cool kickback. All three of those are present, so I'm happy about it. ;) And the ships warping out at the end is the proverbial icing on the proverbial cake!

People used to ask Adywan why he didn't put his extended Alderaan destruction into his final edit and he gave much the same response (that and it being a bit of joke anyway what with Jar-Jar dying and all).

He ended up sticking it on as a deleted scene.

And I see Asteroid-Man has used it in his edit. I am definitely recommending it be removed. ;) The scene is fun, and a good nod to the Jar Jar hatred, but the thing that gtes me about it is that they're just standing there (for what seems like an inordinately long period) looking at the wave of dirt coming at them. Surely they'd react even slightly...

The only thing I'd change/fix is that audio problem at the Lars dinner table, when Luke says "I uh...also thinking about our agreement." It seems like that cut/transistion in the middle of his sentence drowned out or removed the word 'was.' Even adding an 's' sound in there would help smooth it out a lot, I think.

This is one change I mentioned too late to Darth Editous as well. :p

Star Wars: Renascent *** NOW AVAILABLE!!! ***
Time

Just to let you know, A-M, I have been watching it. I am around 2:20 into it. I can only watch for so long because my back is bothering me and the chair at the computer is annoying sometimes.

I am taking notes as I watch. I have a fair amount. (around 20 bullet points so far) Once I'm done watching it all, I'm going to post the notes mostly as-is, with some explanation if necessary.

Lightsaber colour reflects the jedi personality and choice. So blue and green people, blue and green. No yellow, orange, magenta, violet, pink etc etc etc

Why not those colors? What if someone's feeling orange? ;) Besides, it's just supposed to be a matter of whatever color crystal they put in it, right? The thing is, a lot of explanations--and in this case, most--come from the EU, where the story seems to change a couple of times a decade. So...yep.

What a mess.

But in the end, each faneditor will just do whatever they want. :p We know there are some strong opinions on the subject, some unswayable, it seems. (not that it matters. I don't really care what colors they are in the PT, to be honest. The only one that bugs me is the purple one because Samuel Jackson got special treatment)
