I was just looking at the nice disc art for ANH:R (red wire-frame Death Star model) and although this is very early, what sort of images might work for the ESB:R disc? Like the one for ANH:R, it should reflect a change, I guess. Maybe one of those split-screen blue/green Yoda images from the petition banners? Haha.

Depending on the model it looks better than a lot of CGI work I've seen, it has a physical presence that a lot of CGI (especially the cheap and early end) doesn't have.

Yeah, very impressive. A lot of the detail is lost in faster motions, though. I noticed a comment he made after someone suggested King Kong get the same treatment. He said that it's too fast and jerky to look right for his technique.

I think Mr. Harryhausen would get a kick out of it, but I don't know that he would use it, as it's not natural. Hmm...

Man, I didn't realize you guys had run so far with my old 'Blu, not Blue!' line. I just did it because I thought it was amusing. :) I knew ImperialFighter had the line in his signature, but I'm happy that others dig it too.

When I saw those inverted Stargate ships, the first thing I thought was:

"They're French!"
"Stinky pits and all, baby!"

That's massively improved! Just shows how disgusting the 2004 DVDs look, including the fact that it's so dark you can barely see Harrison's face at times. I liked the bigger size of the hangar, too.

One thing, though... I'm not too sure about the shimming effect around Obi-Wan. It looks good in close-ups, but sorta 'copy-and-paste' from distance. I dunno, that's just the way I'm seeing it. Anyone else find this?

Yes, I had thought of that, but I stand by what I said. I consider myself a realist, but there are so many defeatist sentiments in this thread after only a few pages that I wonder how Jay must feel reading them all. Reading 'this is pointless, but whatever' over and over must get annoying.

It is kinda neat how even after SO much has been said about SO many things about the movie, people are still finding things all the time. Vaderios comes to mind, with some of the tiny details he finds in certain single frames. Haha. It's a real game of "Spot the Looney Errors." :)

^R2 is, Chewie isn't. I found watching it that Chewie doesn't talk enough to bother. Having both of them subtitled might feel like overkill, too. I think there's just enough subtitling it it.

I saw that on the PBS special, I think, and yeah, his head does look slightly larger than maybe it should, but wow, anything is better than that pathetic puppet!

^Yessir, it is done in a similar style. It feels to me like one of the old Turkish/Italian rip-off flicks, and in this case, that's a very good thing!

I think I saw that messup up shot of the sabers crossed in front of the Emperor on the PBS special as well.

It is still in the works, but close to being finished. He’s working on menus at the moment and doing a few tweaks. I have watched the workprint version and I can definitely say you guys are going to LOVE it! Tons of creative ideas in it and plenty of laughs, too.

I’ll update this thread whenever possible.

I have well over 100 discs. Lots of VHS, too. Only the KCCI Holiday Special, though. ;)
