I love her music and I love her in person even more!! I caught her in Denver about 10 years ago or so at the Merc (even chatted with her for a few mintues before the show at the bar downstairs

I've got about 3 CD's from her (The Divine Comedy, The Peopletree Sessions, Live at Liberty Lunch & Tower Records) I even have a DVD that I made of her live show in Austin (BLAKTONE03) a.k.a. "Live at Liberty Lunch" that I got from another trader about 6 years ago (It had no menu or tracklistings) and I even included some interview footage on it from a public access station (also from TX) - I think you can get the "official bootleg" from her site still so that's really why I've never included it on my lists

If the source video is 29.97fps interlaced can I recode to 23.976fps progressive with 3:2 pulldown implemented by flags in the video stream? I tried but the resulting video was "jumpy" but then again I may have missed something. (BTW - I've never done MPEG to MPEG before so I'm just unsure)

I doubt either of you would unless you're also you're both making a isolated audio track!

1. I finished the encoding (V2) but the file size was a bit off from the plan but the sync was fine no biggie (I may just re-encode again)
2. BTW I' will also make a Single Layer Version of the 2005 HDTV Broadcast for those that would like them on SL (No extra audio tracks)
3. I just got my Pink Floyd WISH YOU WERE HERE CD in the mail today!!!!!!!!

Zootie is a BLAST to dance with!! I've now done some amazing things with this car coming down Sandia Peak (mostly sideways) sadly, I've not yet taken on other auto-xers (I miss being able to race

Do you race in Stock or Street Prepared? Either way GOOD LUCK and keep making those honduhs look silly

- I already tried it and the video is way off in both color and aspect ratio so I tossed the idea. BUT I'm sure if someone where to REALLY try it could be done with the right tools (freeware did not cut it for me so I bought TMPGEnc & that set me back a bunch) but I also would love to see a version like that!!
ON a similar note...
I'm still considering doing a hybrid OV/DC audio track for what may be my first edit ever, so if this pans out I may drop a few audio tracks from my HDTV sourced DVD and use them on my edit

- I really did not want to carry over the "double-frames" into this release, I was aware of Digitalfreaks V2 but was also aware that it MAY be WAY TOO large to include my multiple audio tracks (he’s going for 100% pure quality), SO at this time I've attempted to down convert the 15 gig files (thanks SO much Segaflip!!) to DVD (DL that is) that is why I posted the tester - now from what I've seen and other have said my V2 looks okay - I'm NOT AT ALL in ANY way claiming it's better then the Digitalfreak version 1 or version 2 - AGAIN I'm NOT STATING it's any better (notice that I never asked if it looked better then his?) that is not the point here man. My version is simply sized to fit with multiple audio streams I intend to include, if the Digitalfreak V2 version would fit multiple audio streams then I MAY USE his second version for the final version if I can get my hands on it that is. (or I may have use a HDTV2DVD version if my final output bites!)

Alright, myself and other die-hard Blade Runner fans have now taken a hard look at this. And although it is clearly a new HD transfer when compared to every other available source, we are sad to report that something must have gone wrong somewhere in the capture or encoding to MPEG2 for this DVD release by Freak. Now, please don't take this the wrong way, this is meant only as feedback after some very close review by some very talented video people. I personally would love to see a new encode done and a new, updated torrent posted because I simply LOVE this movie, and this HDTV version is clearly 100 times better than the currently available official released.
The problem is, it looks like something went wrong with the pulldown removal or something else. Not sure, except to say that the "cadence" of this encode is screwed up with double-frames that don't change from one frame to the next. It's like you get frame 1, frame 2, frame 3, frame 4, frame 4, frame 5. There are repeated frames all over the place. This is very noticeable to the human eye at the start of the fourth vob file, but better yet, try opening the fourth vob in an editor or player and go one frame at a time forward. You will very quickly see the repeated frames occuring at regular intervals. Worse yet, the repeated frames look ever so-slightly different probably due to some sort of changes during the inter-frame compression of MPEG. Also, this cadence is not simply the 3:2 sequence of 24 fps film inserted into a 30 fps interlaced format. It seems something more is happening, but not sure what exactly. My guess is something happened in the workflow from capturing the interlaced 29.97 fps HDTV feed to encoding the MPEG2. There has been some discussion of this on alt.fan.blade-runner and there has also been a comparison to the DC-DVD (with an example of the cadence problem shown as an animated gif) at this page (which probably will be pulled down at some point soon, so take a look ASAP):

- It’s coming along better then expected; I’ve had a few HEAVY contributors now and I’m gathering it all to my hard drive! I’m really working on the HDTV to DVD conversion at this time and I’ve had a few positive results so far so I’m going to fire up the PC and start the conversion tonight which should take about 20 hours or so then I’ll find out if the 5.1 still syncs up. IF SO then the real work will begin at that point.
I’ve now gathered the necessary audio to complete my audio tracks, next I’ll need to relay the tracks based on my new 5.1 directly from the HDTV source - You see, I kept the full intro from HDNET (it’s their baby so they need the maddest props!!), and since I kept it I’ll need to redo the timing for my audio cues. I’ll start this in a few days as Rayna’s car has now officially died leaving us without a legal car at this time (the automatic transmission went out – but reverse works lovely!) and the cost of repair is way too high to get it fixed ~ So I’ll be spending the next few days making the 69’ wagon fully legal (insurance and registration) once that’s done I’ll get back to the score and I will also start the TV/Workprint DVD (I need to finalize the menu art for all the discs) which may be the first disc done, followed by the US Theatrical 4:3 1.33:1/International Version 16x9 2.35:1 DVD, Then the extra materials may actually end up on two discs but that remains to be seen – I’ll round out the set with the HDTV to DVD version the thing is I’ll need to see about finding a partner as I only have the ability to include 2 audio tracks so I might need to seek the skills of someone more qualified then myself to author this DVD.
In the end it may take as little as a few weeks or as long as a few months, I’m not really in a rush to finish this set (which may also may be my last ever preservation release) after this I’ll hopefully start filming my first short film and also be returning to full time (gainful) employment either in the Home Entertainment industry again or I may take up wielding and join a long time friend building fully custom high performance, high quality suspension components and kits for Nissans and Datsuns (James is a super skilled engineer that I foresee making serious headway in the automotive tuning industry!!) that and building my Datsuns!!!
MORE updates as I make progress!!!!

My second DVD also contained the Esper soundtrack in a lossless format, by the way.
