Yeah, chalk boards aren’t very common anymore. Projectors and smartboards are pretty standard as well, at least where I live. In Quebec, they don’t seem to have modernized as much.

Yeah, I found some of his dialogue cringeworthy the first time I watched it, and I was eight.

I agree. I don’t mind the occasional troll, but when they start trashing every conversation and nobody wants them around, it’d be nice to be able to give them the boot. If we have moderation, I would like it to be very light, just to keep the really bad trolls in line. Some trolls are fun, though. I just don’t like it when they start to take over.

You may not be the only mod, but you’re the only one who’s really active, as far as I can tell. I should probably use the “report” button more often, though… I guess sometimes I subconsciously assume that the mods are aware of everything that’s going on.

Regardless, that still doesn’t solve the problem of Off Topic being entirely unmoderated. It used to be just fine, but we keep getting trolls and other idiots popping by and abusing that freedom.

No, they aren’t. I don’t feel like getting in to all that at the moment though.

Your biggest problem is that you don’t think your addictions are a big enough problem to fight. There may be other stuff going on in your life as well, but substance abuse only worsens the problem, and is no doubt part of the reason you’re stuck in a rut.

Maybe we just need to enforce the rules a little more? Personal attacks, excessive profanity, etc. are all against the rules, so a few violations of them should get people banned. Even in Off Topic, though perhaps a little more leeway could be granted here, especially as regards profanity. Personal attacks just aren’t cool in general, but people seem to get away with them all the time, simply because they’re in Off Topic, or they’re only borderline offensive.

EDIT: And by “we”, I guess I mean SilverWook… 😛
