Okay, well, it's not really emo, but it kind of is. And it is funny. It's by this group I'm producing called The BPO and it's up on their MySpace page now, which can be found here. It's not really that hard to see his point of view. He wrote a story intended for a certain medium, and that medium was comics. It doesn't seem that strange to me that he just isn't interested in seeing his work manipulated into another medium, whether the end result may be good or bad.

This flick was really damn good. Best movie I've seen in a while.

Alan Moore has never seen any film adaptation of his work and never will. He even divided up his paycheck on this to the other members of the creative force of the book.

A cyclic redundancy error is a disc error, not an error with the files you've download. It's something with the DVD-RAM.

Now that this has been available for download for a little while, anyone got any reactions to it?

I watched it and absoultely dug the hell out of it. It's definitely my favorite Ep II edit at this point. I prefer Nichols' approach, which is taking the existing materials to tell the same story in a more effective way rather than the editor manipulating the story for their own edit. While I definitely have a respect for that and do enjoy other fanedtis that do this, I think this is generally overall more effective. The commentary is also very great.

Rik, every any luck on getting the "official" DVD of the Phantom Edit with the commentary?

In Backstroke, "Lock onto him, R2" corresponds to "Target, teacher". The timing on the crawl is incredibly erratic, so I wouldn't try to fix that up too much.

For a font, I think it's funnier if it's played straight. Just make the subtitles look like a typical DVD subtitle track. And please, do not censor the language.

A lot of fan edit/preservation discs that I've seen recently have an unskippable anti-profit warning at the bootup of the disc. If the particular seller knows anything about re-authoring DVDs with a computer (which 95% of the time, they do not), they could take it off, but like I say, they wouldn't usually take the time.

It's probably possible to do that. I'd like to do it with the newer re-release of the flick rather than the first production of the flick on DVD, which I currently own (in that uneffective Warner Bros-unique cardboard case). I'll probably watch the disc all the way through this week and then I'll be able to judge better. And I'll get a copy to you ASAP, Garrett. I'd rather send it to one other person to PIF (I'd prefer Mask, since he started this thread) because my disc resources are running low.
