Concerning Fan Edits
Time
I've seen a few fanedits that I like a lot, but by and large, I think a lot miss the mark. A lot of them I see as pointless. Either the movie in question was fine the way it was or was a dumb enough movie that no one should have considered editing it. The ones that are really good, though, are real gems that should be seen.

It's a pretty damn rad flick. I've been psyched for it for a while, and yelled at my mom a lot after she saw it early at the Toronto Film Festival this past September.

It was truly beautiful, and sad. The only thing that stopped this really damn good film from being really great was that all of the characters were extremely static. They were all classic character types that all remained unchanged for the duration of the film. It worked because it was basically a dark fairy tale, but it did wind up holding the true impact back a bit.

Anyone want to preserve The Compleat Al? (A Mockumentary about Weird Al) (Released)
Time
I'd torrent it if I didn't share my connection with four other people, who are basically left with a crazily slow connection until it's done seeding. If someone wants to send me blanks and postage and then make Weird Al torrents, that would be cool. Here's what I got, in terms of Al stuff:

Concert: 7/29/1983 - New York City, NY - The Bottom Line
Concert: 6/9/1984 - Los Angeles, CA - Starlight Ampitheater
Concert: 8/23/1994 - Danbury, CT - Tuxedo Junction
Concert: 7/13/1996 - Seymore, WI
Concert: 7/24/2000 - Costa Mesa, CA - Orange County Fair
Al-TV #1 4/1/1984 (2 discs, includes original videos and commercials)
Al-TV #9 (6/17/2003)
The Compleat Al - Laserdisc transfer

You know, now I don't know. I might have just based it on this:

"In July 2000, director Ridley Scott said that Deckard is, in fact, a replicant."

I thought I had read something else, but I really could be wrong. Oh, and to actually contribute to this thread:

LELAND PALMER DID IT.

That's so awesome, DJ. I've been a fan of the flick for years, and heard that there was going to be a restored director's cut broadcast in HD. I got another copy of it a few months ago, but it's DVR --> standalone DVD recorder that kinda looks like poop, is non-anamorphic and in DD2.0. I can't wait for your hi-q version! If I had any cover skills, I'd design one just to get it out sooner.

Uh... okay. In the book he certainly isn't, and in the original cut of the movie he certainly isn't, the director's cut hints at it because it was an interesting questioned posed in the book, but it was really a dumb idea to suggest it in the movie. If he is suppose to be a replicant, he is a damn pathetic one.

Ridley Scott has said that he shot the film with it in his mind that Deckard is a replicant.

Also, Sean, this is, to me, a very amusing thread and probably the only worthwhile thread you've ever started. Back-handed compliment? Yeah, but still, well done.
