Help: looking for... Preservation DVDs of 'Invasion America'
Time

I’ve been looking for fan made DVDs of Invasion America for a long time now. I’ve been able to locate a few people that are selling them on the web, but before I go that route I wanted to see if there is anyone who has started or has done a project like this here. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

For those of you who don’t know what Invasion America is, here is a wiki link:

.-The Matrix Hacked-..:Completed:.

I think your new idea sounds pretty good. As much as somone else's ideas look so good you want to copy them, I know that when I look at an edit and whether I want to take time to watch it, I look to what the differences are. When edits are similar it makes me less inclined to try out another one. So, go bold man!

As far as the actual ideas, I think that your explanation as to what happens to the oracle in the beginning is great. It didn't make much sense to me that the Oracle couldn't be found at the beginning of the movie. If she was assimilated or kidnapped that provides a much cooler opening.

The Seraph fight was okay, but it didn't add anything to the fight. To me, it was just filler. With the Oracle missing, it doesn't provide any purpose. Now, if you get a hold of footage in Enter the Matrix, there is another Seraph fight between Seraph and Niobe. If you really want to see Seraph fight, maybe you could use that footage instead.

I never liked the Smith fight in the park. The extra copies of Agent Smith coming from eveywhere was the only part I thought looked cool. The rest of it, especially when they have Neo fighting with the pole and using it to spin around and kick all the Smiths which was a particularly bad (bad cgi=fake looking) effects shot, was just cheesy and drawn out. I would not miss if you cut it.

I don't understand how you would make the Smith fight work at the beginning of the movie, but I'd be interested in seeing how you accomplish it. The final battle is supposed to be the culmination of two films worth of build-up. It is the moment everyone is waiting for in the official films. It is just a great moment in cinematography. Much better than the battle in the park by far, but than the fight in the park is supposed to be the fore-shadowing of the ultimate showdown. I guess you will have to make a decision on how you want to handle it. It's hard to comment on some of your ideas without knowing more about what you have in mind for the the sequels.

Info: Matrix Universe - Question to the Crowd...
Time
The new code theory could work I guess. I just remember being so excited for the Matrix sequels, flipping through all the magazine cover with exclusive photos and seeing pictures of a silouhette outlined in orange in middle of all this matrix code and wondering "whoa! I wonder what that is?!? Is that supposed to be what neo looks like in code? Is that the source?" I had all these questions because of this one really cool picture. When I watched the movie I found out that it was just what a program looks like in the matrix and was disappointed. I thought afterwards that it wouldn't have come as much of a shock if the agents at the end of the first movie looked like that too.

Ever since then I have wanted to see that changed. I honestly don't think it would be too much work. All you would have to do is create a few masks in After Effects and match the look in the sequels.

A real challenging Matrix edit would be a "Smith-less" version of the Matrix trilogy. Actually, the first movie would have no changes, I just wished he would have stayed dead. I don't know how you would compensate for all the cuts you would have to make, but it would be interesting if it could be done. I didn't think a Zion-less edit could be done until I saw that edit, so I dare somebody to try and make this idea work.

ocpmovie said that you might be able to get someone to add some cuts and whathaveyou to Neo's face to accomplish what you are hoping. In that same vein, you could also grab clips from the movie Sweet Nomber with Keanu Reeves and Charlize Theron. There are a few scenes that have him wearing a blind-fold and wlaking around. My idea is that you could rotoscope his head out, or his entire body and plug it into the few scenes where you see that he is in fact alive, albeit blind or healing (either could be suggested by the covering over his eyes).

I realize that this would be difficult and perhaps more work than you want to spend on something, or it maybe too far from the direction you want to go with Neo's survival, but it's just another way you could possibly make it work. Oh, and I am totally supportive of any and all edits of the Matrix trilogy. I would hope that you would leave the original alone mostly since it was great IMO. However the other two, especially Reloaded, really needs an overhaul.

One last thing, as long as we are on the topic of rotoscoping, at the end of the Matrix (the first movie), he looks at the agents down the hallway and sees them in Matrix code. The problem is that they are green and in code unlike other programs in the Matrix. In Reloaded and Revolutions all programs are orange. Even when Neo sees Agent Smith during their fight on the ship seeing him extranaturally(?) he sees him in orange almost as if he were on fire. Seeing as the creators of the Matrix decided to change the look of programs for the sequels, I would like to see the agents at the end of the Matrix as a deep brown almost black silouhette with an orange outline like how the programs are represented in the sequels.

Just some thoughts.

FAN EDIT REQUEST THREAD - Post your dream Fan Edits Here!
Time
A friend of mine said that the original script for Kingdom of Heaven had much stronger anti-muslim attitudes and a much faster pace. He asked me to see about making an edit for him, but I was bored to tears just trying to watch that movie. There's no way that I could devote time to even seeing if that kind of edit is possible.

Does anyone know of any edits of this movie or is anyone interested in making one?

TV series set between ROTS and ANH
Time
The news may possibly be bunk.

TFN says rumors about TV show being set during OT are false.

From TFN:

Original Report

# Live action TV series will be based around the Original Trilogy. Previously we'd been told it would take place between Episode 3 & 4.

New Report

Updated!
We've just received word from a fan of TheForce.net, Matt Martin who was at the Sansweet presentation and writes in with this:

"I was at Wondercon and at Steve Sansweet's presentation and he did say the live action show would take place between 3 and 4 NOT during the OT as AICN said. They get stuff wrong all the time anyway. I was just hoping to clear this up for the real Star Wars fans out there who depend on TFN for their news. Not only did Sansweet say that it would take place between 3 and 4 during the Q and A but they also showed the clip from Celebration 3 of George Lucas saying it during Wondercon's SW in 2005 montage.

Info & Offer: 'Tis the season...
Time
That's really not necessary. You have done so much already that I don't want you to take that one mistake as something you need to correct. Plus, I still haven't had the chance to look at all of the disks yet anyway, and if you are going to insist on sending me a correct copy of BH008, then I would rather get a chance to look at all of the DVDs first in case I find another hidden gem like that.

Thanks for eveyrthing!

Shadows of the Empire - a TV show idea?
Time
A few portugese Star Wars fans filmed the entire story of Shadows of the Empire using action figures. While this often doesn't amount to much, these guys created something pretty great. It is in Portugese of course, but there are english subtitles (done by the creators, so you have to forgive the improper translation at times).

This project took them six years to finish and they still have plans on tweaking it and possibly coming out with an english version eventually. It is the first time someone has tried taking this story on and has been able to show something for it.

The direct download link is below. Let me warn you that the download is 420 MB, so if you are on dial-up then you might want to give this a pass for now or get a download manager like Getright.

You can read more about it including some of what went into it and fan reviews here in the release thread:
